  1. This team SUCKS!"...to the point where I can't even watch them anymore = Bad Football.

Dick Jauron and his staff must go!

To think that they passed up a franchise QB like Jay Cutler, a DT like Haloti Ngata and they could have had LB Patrick Willis if they moved up 2 spots in the 07 Draft  ....PLAYMAKERS...win games!

The Bills have ruined my football Sundays, oh well at least the Sabres are on tonight.

  2. Yes today's loss sucked. And going 1 & 5 in our last 6 sucked harder. But if Bills beat Miami next week, they will be:

    - tied with them at 7 & 6;

    - could also be tied with Pats if they lose to Seattle, which they could after today's brutal beating and needing to travel to west coast;

    - could be one game behind Jets as today could also the mark the beginning of a losing streak of their own given they also travel to west coast to play 9ers (who aren't all that bad, as we saw today).

Even if we win and Jets and Pats win, we're still very much in the thick of it as the week after we play the Jets. Win that and worst case we're a game behind them, likely ahead of Fins and tied with Pats. I could see us winning that too because although I like the talent the Jets have, I think they're coach Mangini is a fraud and could show his true colors down the stretch.

Win the next week against Broncos and I see us ahead of Pats who play Cards that week in what I think is a terrible mismatch for Pats secondary. And Fins should be well behind in our rear view mirror.

That sets up big showdown against Pats in Buffalo in last game of season. If it means everything is on the line, I could see Bills and their fans pulling one out and stealing the AFC east. And of course a 10 & 6 record gives us a good chance of capturing the wild card in the (I think) unlikely scenario we run the table from here and don't win the division. Running the table almost certainly puts us no worse than 2nd in AFC east, which means the wildcard competition comes from outside the division from Colts and Ravens. I am willing to concede Colts one of those spots, but I think Ravens are headed for a meltdown now with Skins, Steelers, Cowboys and Jags their remaining games. So I'd say 10&6 gives us 50/50 chance of catching them too.

I know it's a long shot us winning out, but hey that would be the attitude of a perenial winning franchise like Steelers or Colts right now. They'd say hey guys, let's get on a roll now, be physical, and take these next 4 and I like our chances. That's the exact attitude Bills need right now, otherwise they are doomned, not just this year, but every year until they adopt that approach.

    LOL....LOL...LOL...LOL!!!

This team is one of the worst teams in the league right now

  3. This says it all:

    [Comment From Train Wreck]

Forget Miller....let's figure out how can we run Jauron out of town. Will 5-11 finally doom this clown?

    1:16

Sully: I called Jauron a lame duck in today's column. I don't know what Ralph Wilson is thinking, but I hear he was furious after the Browns game. He was embarrassed on Monday Night Football and he doesn't take those things well. Jauron is wearing thin with me. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. It actually gets tiresome, calling for coaches to be fired. I did it with Phillips, with Williams, with Mularkey. I wanted Jauron to succeed. And I know management desperately wanted it. But he's just not good enough. His game day decisions are as bad as I've ever seen. I don't care if he went to Yale. He's not nearly as smart as people have been led to believe.

Sully doesn't candy-coat, he tells it like it is.

The eye in the sky don't lie. :worthy:

  4. I said the same thing but others tell me how do you explain his good game against San Diego? It may not be his concussion but him being scared of getting his brain scrambled again by some of the hits he is taking.

Remember the Chargers didn't sack Edwards at all that game...in fact he was barely touched in that game.

Since then he's been hit and pounded numerous times which could have started the effects all over again.

  5. After the missed 47 yarder, I put my fist through a patio sliding glass door. Obviously I blame myself, but I think I have a right to blame Lindell too. Anybody know if I can bill the Bills for this?

And I thought I was bad last night when the wife threw my pillow down the stairs in the family room after my tirade last night.

  6. we didn't win last night.

but what does that have to do with us discussing if lynch and jackson are playmakers?

I'm not saying that Lynch and Jackson aren't good enough or aren't playmakers...what I'm saying is they don't scare anyone...mediocre players make a mediocre team!

I'm sick of the Bills hovering around 8-8 every year.

    I want MORE!

  7. The reason the Bills continue to be a mediocre team is that they lack playmakers on both sides of the ball.

Lee Evans is a playmaker but the Bills don't get him the ball :wallbash:

We need a STUD TE

Another reliable receiver, and a HB that has 4.3 speed to take it to the house everytime he touches the ball 0:) wouldn't the Titans Chris Johnson look good in a Bills uniform right now?

On the defensive side we need a reliable DE that flies off the edge and records double digit sacks year in and year out. :(

A playmaker at the LB position (inside or out)

A shutdown CB that has the ability to make a pick 6 now and then

All of the above would be nice and make us a contender someday!

  8. I don't know how many times I've posted my hatred for drafting for scheme rather than just getting the biggest fastest baddest players out there and figuring out a scheme to work around them. It seems so simple to me. I don't like anything in football that calls for a smaller anything. Not that size is always the most important consideration, but the Bills have such a long history of jettisoning players that are "too fat" and drafting smurfs for the defensive secondary year after year. It gets tiresome.

    Yup!

The reason the Bills bypassed DT Haloti Ngata in the 06 draft is because they claimed he didn't fit their scheme :nana: ...just a gut feeling that the Bills defense would be better against the run and better overall if that monster were sitting in the middle of our Line  ...last time I checked...he's a dominant force in the middle of the Baltimore Ravens D-line.

  9. Aaron schobel is good, but it speaks volumes to the overall craptasticness of the group, when one guy makes that big of a difference. of course people wanted to believe for years that denney/kelsay duo was just as good as having a starting lde, or that individually one of them was starting caliber. Minus stroud they all pretty much suck.

    I totally agree!

  10. I agree...In my opinion the Bills need to spend their high draft picks on both sides of the line starting with the Defensive side.

Just look at a couple of th the more successful teams (Patriots and Eagles to name just a few) over a long period, they all have rather high draft picks starting on their line.

In my opinion there's no recipe to replace talent on the line, you can get away with finding a solid WR in the later rounds of the draft, but not at the D-line position.

  11. I viewed the Bills defense as just an average unit weeks ago when the Bills were on their winning streak...the problem is the

scheme and the players they draft and acquire to fit their scheme...our scheme calls for smaller quicker D-linemen (except Stroud who's a tall beanstalk)...LB'ers that are quick and fly to the ball which is great but they too are the smaller variety and their secondary is loaded with small DB's short and quick but nowhere to be found on run support...in my opinion it's the Bills defensive philosophy that's bringing the team down...this type of defense SUCKS unless you have a Bob Sanders (Very Rare) in your secondary and even then we would be still be bad...in my opinion this thing needs to be blown up switch

to a 3-4 like the Steelers in which they draft and employ BIG LB's or ends like LaMarr Woodley...or...keep the 4-3 but draft bigger and faster ends like the Giants did and find some bigger and better LB's and DB's....DT Kyle Williams is

no better than a good backup DT on most teams and LB Poszluszny is a very overrated stiff robot who looks like he's feeding himself roids to make himself bigger to man the middle of the defense...this unit is one of the worst in the league....and last but not least....Marv Levy always said...to win in this league you have to be able to run the ball (LOL) and stop the run...we can't do either!

I'ts that time of the year in Buffalo when the leaves are falling off the trees and the snow will be falling soon....which means it's the season when Bills fans begin thinking about the NFL Draft because the Playoffs are a distant memory...all of the above is as sure as dying and paying taxes.

Sorry for the negative post, but as a Bills fan I'm sick of losing!

  12. Losman On The Block?...ProFootballWeekly.com reports contrary to a report out of Buffalo this week that quoted Bills chief operating officer Russ Brandon as saying, “We anticipate (J.P. Losman) being on this team,” we hear that the Bills’ quarterback is very much on the trading block.... Losman asked to be traded after last season following his demotion behind Trent Edwards, but thus far, the Bills haven’t received many inquiries from other teams....Still, the Bills hold out hope that they can work out a deal for him either over draft weekend or shortly thereafter. “Russ was simply giving the party-line answer,” said a source close to Brandon....“He’s just covering his bases in the event they don’t get a reasonable offer.” The general feeling is that a third or fourth-round draft pick either in next week’s draft if they get the deal done soon, or in the ’09 draft if it’s worked out later , is the least amount of compensation the Bills would be willing to accept...In the event Buffalo fails to see that kind of offer, Losman would remain with the club as the second-string QB rather than being cut. 13. I found this pretty interesting because everbody thinks M. Kelly will slide into the second round of the draft, but how about the third round = I'd take him there! <_<

    http://www.eastcoastsportsnews.com/2008draftnews.html

Malcolm Kelly's poor pro day performance has not only dropped him out of the first round of the draft, but Kelly will likely slide past the second round as well. Kelly's numbers were worse than USC receiver Dwayne Jarrett's numbers from last year, and Jarrett fell to the 45th overall pick in the 2007 Draft and was chosen by the Panthers. Jarrett's forty time of 4.62 was better than Jarrett's pair of 4.68 and 4.75 times, as was his vertical jump of 36.5" compared to Kelly's 32", along with his 4.20 short shuttle compared to Kelly's 4.24 shuttle time. Kelly will also be downgraded for throwing his school and their medical staff under the bus after his workout. Kelly was graded as a second round pick by the NFL's advisory board committee when he applied for the draft back in January, but that was under the assumption that Kelly would run faster than his poor forty times on Wednesday. In my opinion, unless Kelly runs a much better forty time for an NFL team within the next two weeks, he won't come off the board any earlier than the early stages of the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft.

  14. Bryant Johnson...To follow up our earlier report, ESPN's Michael Smith is now reporting that Bryant Johnson has signed a one year contract with the San Francisco 49'ers...the offers that Johnson had reportedly received from other teams on the market weren't what he and his agent had expected... so Johnson accepted the Niners one year deal in hopes of padding his stats in Mike Martz's offense and hit the open market once again in 2009.
