  1. The epitomy of cheapness - Bills owner Ralph E. Wilson

It's pretty sad when a local restaurant owner has to come to the rescue to ensure Bills fans that they will be able to see the Bills game on the tube on Sunday.

Shame on you Ralph E. Wilson for not giving back to the fans that have loaded your pockets over the years. You have now earned the letter "E" as your middle initial. The "E" of course stands for Ebenizer.

  2. First off I don't do drugs, and it is way too early for me to be drinking so YES I am serious and here is why.

    1. Coaching is better. ANYONE is an improvement over Jauron, VanPelt etal.

    2. The talent has improved. No way in hell do we suck this year as badly as we did against the run. The 3-4 should bring more pressure allowing our good DB corp to make more turnovers.

This OL produced the 16th rated running game in the NFL last year as well as a 1000 yard rusher. Spiller has 10x the talent our other RB's do, plus I don't see us having as many OL injuries this year. We will be improved.

    3. We lost 6 games by a total of like 20 points.

I feel this team is going to do better than most people think!

The Franchise is finally headed in the right direction, but this team has 4 to 5 wins written all over it.

  3. Bills fans are looking for a HUGE hire :wallbash: after years of Mike Mularkey, Dick Jauron, Greg Williams etc.

Chan Gailey just won't cut it! :w00t:

He isn't an emotional leader = Rex Ryan (something the Bills haven't had is years) and is considered a very boring coach = Dick Jauron. :wallbash:

If Ralph and Co. reads this board, re-think this decision because it could be the straw that breaks the Camel's back as far as season ticket fan support goes.

    DON'T DO IT!!

  4. Terrell Owens smiles his way out of DUI?...Dirty.com reports after partying all night on Saturday at MYNT Nightclub with other NFL players and some local hoochies, T.O. leaves the club at 3:45 a.m. Noticeably impaired by his inability to walk without wavering, Terrell stops to hit on some girls then hops on his yellow Spyder CanAm. Terrell Owens drives only 4 blocks before the cops start chasing him and pull him over. According to source that witnessed the evening’s events, though the cops gave him a field sobriety test there is no way that T.O. should have passed the test. It seems like the Miami Beach PoliceDepartment traded a DUI for his autograph and let him go! The witness assures us that they did not give T.O. a breathalyzer test when he clearly needed one. 5. Jauron would take Stafford...Tom Kowalski of MLive reports that if Bills' head coach Dick Jauron had to make the choice for Lions with the first overall pick, he would go with Georgia QB Matt Stafford...I think it's common sense, I don't think it's great insight, but you'd better find a quarterback," Jauron said. Do you think Lions fans are happy that Dickie isn't their coach. :nana:

  6. Reading all of these posts in favor of acquiring Jay Cutler for an unknown price, got me thinking about how absurd it would be for the Bills. I'm not sure if the more intelligent Bills fans think this way, but I can think of at least five reasons not to.

    1. Despite his stats, Cutler throws his share of INT's. 18 last season was among league worst in this category. Granted he's young, but QB's with rocket arms tend to force too much and get picked. (Cue a Favre reference)

    2. He's been pampered and the center of attention in Denver. A 3 year vet who's started 2.5 seasons, he doesn't have the maturity to handle adversity. That won't change anytime soon.

    3. Shanahan's offenses put up points, but he's not going into a Shanahan offense if he goes to Buffalo.

    4. His agent Bus Cook has fomented more rebellion among his players, than most agents. It seems he likes being in the news as much as his clients.

    5. The price tag, including draft picks and future cap space would be astronomical. McDaniels is attempting to be Belichick Jr in Denver, and will recognize that someone will overpay for a QB. Cutler's trade value, depsite the conflict, will demand a great deal of resources Buffalo should use to build their team. I'm referring to a DE, TE, perhaps an OLB, and OL depth. Don't forget the Bills top 3 DE's are or will be over 30 this season. Stroud is as well.

The only thing that is absurd would be the Bills not pursuing Cutler. I know that they won't because Jauron is married to Edwards, but there is NO comparison between the two.

Cutler is a young QB with a cannon for an arm and the mobility to match. he threw for over 4,000 yds last year and had his team headed to the playoffs despite a running game and the worst defense in the league. Cutler is a top 6 QB in the league.

Edwards is far from being a proven NFL starter. He's injury prone, and can't throw the deep ball accurately. There's a reason he lasted until the later part of the 3rd round, and there's a good chance that he won't be a starter in the league after 2009 if Jauron gets the boot, and a new coach either sends him packing, or to the bench.

Cutler is a proven starter that will play in the league for 10+ years and has a chance to re-write the record books.

  7. Oklahoma Pro Day...Representatives from 27 NFL teams including Vikings coach Brad Childress, and Vice President of Player Personnel Rick Spielman, Detroit Lions offensive line coach Pat Morris, Buffalo Bills offensive line coach Sean Kugler and Miami Dolphins offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo were among those in attendance in Norman, Oklahoma today for the annual pro day. 8. The cover two was an effective defense last year, especially if you look at the holes we have.

DE: With Schobel out the bills were left with one average starter and one below average starter.

DT: Stroud and Williams are not bad, but far from elite.

LB: No pro bowlers, 2 ok-good starters and one major hole

Safety: Whitner is fine, the second starter is sub par.

Corner: Great depth, but no stars

    Now consider this

-2 out of the last 3 years the bills have been in the top ten in points allowed

-The defense was ranked in the top half last year

-Teams that use the cover 2 as their base utilize other formations 55% of the time.

I think Ralph Wilson was right, the bills lack talent. If we can find a pass rusher, a safety, and an olb the defense should be very good.

The days of the Tampa-2 defense are soon to be history.

Keep in mind that the NFL is a copy-cat league, and things that work often get imitated. None of the teams are flocking to the cover-2 scheme. :wallbash:

  9. To be honest, hamgartner or however you spell it didn't get a very good review from Tim Ryan of Sirius and Fox.

When a Bills caller aske Ryan what he thought of him Ryan replied that he did a good job for the panthers when he was pressed into duty when a starter was out, but Ryan said that he will struggle against the likes of the Jenkins, Wilfork and the Miami nose tackle in the division (3-4 nose tackles)

  10. 3 NFL Players Missing Update...According to one official, Victor "Marquis" Cooper, Nick Skyler, Corey Smith and a possible fourth person did not return from their fishing trip as expected...Smith has played the last three seasons with the Detroit Lions. He played with the Buccaneers from 2002-04. Cooper spent the 2008 season with the Oakland Raiders. He was with the Bucs in 2004 and 2005...The boat, which was about 50 miles out in the Gulf, was supposed to return Saturday evening. The boat was reported missing at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday...Officials said searching the water Sunday was difficult due to the rain and wind moving through the Bay area. The Coast is using two boats, a plane and a helicopter in the search, which is being conducted over an area of 750 square miles. BayNews9.com

  11. I can't believe that you guys are comparing Trent straight up against Jay without taking other factors into consideration.

Like comparing Denver's, Mike Shanahan's offense vs Buffalo's, Turk Schonerts ...are you freaking kidding me!!!

With Denver you have an offensive genius running the west coast offense like it should be run, lets face it with a decent defense Denver is in the playoffs last season. Two super bowls and multiple playoffs under his belt, who would you rather play for, Denver or Buffalo?

The receiving corps, Schonert recently stated that the Bills don't have that receiver opposite Lee Evans, hence all the pass coverage goes against Evans and they take him away most of every game. So Edwards really has no viable deep down field options.

Whereas Brandon Marshall is like Plaxico Burris minus the handguns and is better receiver at this point, he is 6'4'' 230 and runs 4.4 40 ...are you freaking kidding me!!! Plus Denver has a player like Evans in Eddie Royal who is smaller and a burner. But Marshall is that receiver that all QB's dream of having.

Like I stated eariler, if you put Cutler in Buffalo's offensive scheme he would be horrid, Cutler throws way more interceptions trying to force passes to Evans when he isn't open. In the Bills offense Cutler would not be rated the way he is,no way would he be a top 5 QB.

You can't compare apples to toolboxes!!! Schonert is a tool, his first season as a offensive coordinator all he did was call shotgun passing plays, he was trained by someone most fans hated as a OC in Steve Fairchild. Running a system that has been dumped by every other team in the NFL. Martz was fired in St Louis,Fired in SF, Fired in Detroit, only the bills still run that crappy Martz offense.

I'm not a Trent Lover by any means, Cutler might be more effective in Buffalo due to his better arm strength in the latter part of the season, cutting through the rotten weather and wind. Still,he would throw way more INT's.

Didn't the Bills play the Broncos' last season? Which QB looked better for that game?

    Cutler!

The Bills won that game because of Freddy Jackson.

  12. But he said that Ralph needs to get off his wallet and spend money, he said nothing about spending it wisely.

The problem is, the retard Rodeo thats back here continues to harp on Ralph for being cheap and not spending money because he won't getthe guy they want, but the truth is, Ralph has spent money, lots of money. It may not have been spent wisely in hindsight, but big money was spent.

Lots of Money?? Not a chance!

Daniel Snyder spends lots of money, I'm not saying that it has worked, but at least he gives his fan base hope! :D
