  1. The 4 things that pissed me off about today.

    1. Brady had an intentional grounding that was not called....the pass NEVER got passed the LOS, that is a penalty.

    2. The left tackle continually tackling SD defense men without ANY calls for holding.

    3. The BLANTANT hit on Rivers (yes he was pushed, but did he need to head but him?).

    4. The personal foul call when the Pats player hit the CB from SD. Yes, the CB was jawing at him, but why can he hit the player and have the plenty on the SD CB?

  2. You couldn't be more wrong. He played the 2-pt vs XP thing just right by waiting until he really needed to go for 2 (as it turns out, he didn't need to and those sure-thing XPs he took instead gave them a crucial 3-pt lead instead of a 1-pt or 2-pt lead at the end of the game). And this Saints team has nowhere near the talent of the Steelers last year. Gregg Williams - LOL.

The Steelers did not have talent...they had Jerome Bettis. When will people realize that the NFL is about marketing? Do you still think that the Steelers won the SB? Or do you believe that the referees gave them the SB? This year, the NFL marketing gurus have Reggie Bush and the Katrina story to sell. And the US is buying it hook like and sinker. New Orelans with less talent than many teams will be in the SB, and probably will win it.

  3. The Chem Dry business is usually a good investment, but to be honest not sure you can do it part time. The only way to make it work is to keep the machine working. If you are not going the franchise route, I would be interested in how you plan to advertise and compete against the franchises.

  4. I was unimpressed with his game management. Twice he should have gone for the 2 pt conversion and kicked the XP. Luckily the Eagles only got a FG and not a touchdown to make it 27-24. Also, I think he was very fortunate at times in that game. I still think that Greggo could have coached New Orleans to win this season. They are the Pittsburgh Steelers for 2006.

  5. In my opinion to start the season reggie bush and drew brees were making the selling of the tickets easy, then they started winning, i don't get it what is so hard to understand why they are selling out? When the bills win games they sell out again, hell they sold out all the time with a sh------- team how many stadiums can do that, especially with a big stadium for the size of the area, not many!

Not sure I agree here. The Bills were in the thick of a playoff push late in the season and failed to sell out games. I think you have to attribute the Saints sell outs to the NFL marketing machine. The NFL has put alot of money behind marketing the Saints, and will continue to do so this season. Look for the Saints in the Bowl.

  6. Gotta love any government that could pass a tax law like this...can you imagine the potential ethical dilemmas for very wealthy people in poor health? From yesterday's Buffalo News:

"Whatever that means, if Ralph's wife Mary continued to run the team, she would not face the crippling estate tax which, for example, forced the Joe Robbie family to sell the Miami Dolphins.

The tax kicks in when children and other relatives pursue ownership. The only exception is in 2010 when the estate tax is waived for one year."

The irony of this situation is that the NFL could change a simple rule and solve this problem. As you know, it is against nfl policy for a corporation to own an nfl franchise. If they allowed corporate ownership, then owners could recreate a corporation where they retain 51% of the shares. It would allow for easier passing of ownership without the impact of estate taxes since the owners can pass ownership over in parts as they age. Maybe it does not solve all the problems...but it could be a start for lawyers to figure out how to do it.

  7. So by "excelled" (which I take to me "elite") you actually mean "still plays in the NFL"? Witten obviously is an above average TE, although he had an off-year this year (he got better when Romo took the reins). Peerless was a great flash in the pan during his first time with us, but obviously has never been a consistent top-shelf WR. Stallworth has the potential but has been injury prone and who knows? Erik Parker? Kelley Washington? They haven't done anything to merit attention as special. Cedrick Wilson? Same thing. My point is that I would say that UT WR's are the definition of Under Producing in the NFL....

Name the elite WR from USC....MeShawn? I would take a TN receiver over a USC receiver anyday.

  8. Really? I'm curious for you to list the UT receivers who have "excelled" over the last ten years or so....

    Peerless Price

    Donte Stallworth

    Erik Parker

    Kelley Washington

    Cedrick Wilson

Jason Witten (though he is a TE)

    Just the current players here

  9. That's huge chunks from two out of four years that he's missed entirely due to injury. You want to take that chance with a 2nd-rounder?

I am a huge Tennessee fan, and I would not take him any higher than the 3rd round. He played well in the FL game with the torn bicep, but I have to believe the rehabilitation to get back to 100% strength will be long and hard. I would have draft Mahelona last year before Harrell this year.

  10. Cowher ain't quitting..... lol good joke.

Cowher is as good as gone with one year left on his contract. Since he is already a HC, no other team will be able to sign him for 2007 as a HC. Have to promote him. He wants Holmgren money (~8 mil/yr) and it is just not happening. He will be out of football for the year, then come back and fail wherever he ends up in 2008.

  11. Justin plays his heart out when he is not injuried. Unfortunately, I think the torn bicep will hurt his draft ranking and he could slip to the 2nd ord 3rd round. I think Marv will take him if he is still around in the 3rd, otherwise I expect the Bills to remain committed to upgrading the o-line.

  12. The Bama job is no picnic.....you have to out recruit Auburn, FL, USF, FL State, Miami, Arkansas, LSU, etc.....and play in the TOUGHEST conference in college football. He won in the SEC so he knows what it takes, but it is still a very tough job that very few men want. I think that he will stay at Miami since he knows that he is secure until Wayne and Co sell the team.

  13. Steven in MD, I know that Dorsey is a Junior, however, most are under the impression that he has maximized his potential collegically, and his time is now! In some quarters, he is considered the top DT if Alan Branch of Michigan does stay for his Senior season

When I met his parents, they did not seem to indicate he was coming out. I think he might stick around if LSU loses the BCS game. Since seeing him against TN, I have been a big fan....btw when you meet his parents, you can understand why he is so big!

  14. Really? It's funny 'cuz I follow the league too and I can only think of about 1 or 2 corners who are better all around players. Winfield is not one of them either. What part of Nate's game do you see as lacking?

Since you asked....here are some that are better than NC

    Champ Bailey

    Chris Mcallister

    Deangelo Hall

    Ronde Barber

    Charles Woodson

    Walt Harris

    Al Harris

    Just to name a few.

  15. how many years in a row do we have to suck against the run until people see that fletcher is a liability? he was NEVER good enough...including when he played for the rams.

THANK YOU!!!!! I agree 100% he is a Zach Thomas type MLB. Makes loads of tackles...just 10 yds down the field. I like the MLB like Lewis, Urlacher and Hawk, make the plays at the LOS.

  16. As painful as it is today, when we reflect on this season we'll remember how far we came since last January, when the Bills were a national laughingstock.

We came so far...and fell so short...and now we will have a top 15 pick instead of a top 10 pick...that is the penalty for playing well down the stretch and giving a gift to the Titans.

  17. The Bills didn't even try with Travis.  Once Willis started doing well, they pretty much treated Travis like he was used goods.  I think the Bills mgmt did this because they were confident Willis was a top-5 running back. If they knew he'd go on to become as inconsistent as he is today, my money says they keep Travis.

I doubt Donahoe would have EVER kept TH. From the day TD came to Buffalo he as going to replace every player with one of his own. He drafted WM to replace TH regardless of how well WM played. He had a plan, and executed flawlessly...he had to replace 52 players in 5 yrs and did it!
