  1. he is not doing anything for any team, as far as I know. I did see him a few weeks ago on ESPN, talking with someone about the draft. He was asked which of his draft picks was a "sure thing" and he said Joey Porter was the one that stood out as a no-brainer.

.......one could read that last line a couple different ways B-)

Hmmm....Not Willis McGahee or Mike Williams.....hmmm interesting.

  2. I was at the game too....a few observations for the Sabres Fan

    1. The Sabres are a dirty team, but they are smart about it. They took on the Lindy Ruff style and do not get caught at it alot.

    2. That too many men on the ice penalty was brilliant, avoided the break away against a weak Caps PP.

    3. Unless the Sabres play a little better on the defensive end, could be a short run to the Cup. Too many times that Miller had to bail them out.

    4. It has been a while since a Presidents Cup winner won the Stanley Cup.

    5. There was a 2:1 ratio of Sabres fans to Caps fans...and they were loud...that was nice to see.

    6. I can see why Buffalo teams do not get respect, a few Sabres fans were a little obnoxious today.

    Good luck in the Playoffs.

  3. This is a damned if you do....damned if you don't thread. Marv goes out and makes a little splash to improve the OL and now we are critical we could have used that money to sign Clements and Fletcher. If we would have resigned them, everyone would complain we did nothing to improve the line. Neither Clements or Fletcher wanted to resign, so Marv moves on and signs some players. We can replace the CB abd MLB through the draft and we have a solid team. Can we compete in the AFC East? I think so!

  4. It doesn't mean that at all, though I'm not surprised that's what YOU'D conclude.

Ole wise and know it all...what can you conclude?? Given the information at the time? Sounds to me (the stupid one) that the Giants do not value him as more than a 4th round pick.

  5. But the Bills had the toughest schedule in the NFL last season. They played the top 5 teams in the league based on draft order (Pats twice). So 6 of 16 games (6 of 9 loses) came against the best teams in the league.

  6. The team is even in worse shape with Cottrell at DC.

He may be able to operate a strong DC like Wade, but he has failed miserably when on his own as DC.

Looks like AJ Smith has a really bad case of Donahoitis and is intent on hiring incompetents to keep in a position of power.

How can two sources have two different conclusions? According to ESPN, the Chargers are still interviewing, and Mora is in the mix.

I think Ted C is a better D coordinator than you give him credit for. When in Minnesota, he had a very good defense. Would not be surprised to see Clements going to SD to play for Ted.

  7. It is called addition by substraction. If we replace these players will players of similar or better skills for the Bills system, then we are set. I am not saying we will be able to replace them, but I am not too concerned about Kelsay and Spikes as the team played well with out Spikes and has depth at DE. Fletcher is a good MLB, but not a great one, so I think that finding solid MLB is not the issue. Clements will sign his big contract somewhere else, and play like Winfield in Minnesota, so no concern there.
