  1. you're such a giver :wallbash:

Fish tosser...it aint all bad. Personally I would recommend that you finish what you started. That will be important to future employers. When the question comes up you'll have an answer ready. The first time you give it maybe its shaky. The second time better, and the third better still. Nothing to be ashamed of, and nothing wasted.

I worry that the time and money it will take to finish will set me back in starting something else. Also, I am worried that the law degree - in my opinion only useful for practicing law - will not help me that much and may turn people off.

  2. Someone got some good résumé advice here... well, this is what I need - sort of.

I am in the middle of law school. I have become convinced that I do not want to be a lawyer. I can leave without drowning in debt. I have a little bit of time to decide whether I will keep on this semester and do my summer stint at a firm or whether I take a leave of absence and most likely be done with law school forever.

I could stay on this semester and do my summer stint at the firm and know for absolutely sure whether law was right for me, but then it "would just be one more year", followed by "might as well practice for a little while" etc.

    I fear the following scenario:

1.5 years of law School on my résumé w/ good grades

    or

2 years of law school on my résumé w/ hopefully still decent grades after this semester.

JD + more debt, opportunity cost, etc. (Why didn't you practice law?)

    or

A lot of time missing from my résumé.

I am screwed. Who would want to hire someone like me? But what looks worse?

  3. You just named three guys who've done squat so far in the NFL. Considering no one knows if JP has the right stuff or not (eight games is not near enough to determine this), your argument holds little weight for me. Maybe we'll get the answers on these players this season, we just don't have them now.

How many games and how much of a chance did we give Todd Collins? Didn't he actually do better than Losman?

  4. Well..  This is prbably something I could get into for hours, but I won't.  It's not out of the question for me to work 70 hours one week and then 50 the next (minimum).  It's a rollercoaster really.  The stress, hours and industry or market changes which effect us daily.  Alot of chefs never fall back on something other than food and they just get burnt from it (hobby or something of that nature).  You really do have to have passion, bullet proof skin and/or drive to better your self daily to be that much better than the competition.  I Love it.  A true chef isn't just an embassador of food he's a teacher, shrink and a referee.

Does it affect how you eat? I worked at a grocery store in high school. I ended up losing weight (I was skinny to begin with) b/c the sight of food didn't make me hungry anymore.

  5. when i was 12 i wrote a letter to Patrick McGroder asking him for a job with the organization.  he wrote a personal letter back to me thanking me for my interest and to get back to him when i was a little older.  he included a media guide.  i thought it was the greatest thing ever!

You are older now, right? Did you get back to him?
