  1. Perhaps that is the case...but I honestly believe it cannot be denied that the Bills missteped a bit with the 2nd round pick...the second it happened it was not so much about Clausen. It was about a guy that most likely could have been had later or Cam could have been taken as well.
  2. This is not about believing those taking heads...this is about just observing how other teams draft and how we do...Baltimore and Philadelphia CONSISTENTLY understand how this works..
  3. So wait, painting a broad brush and saying no to a guy because he is from California? Hilarious. I am telling you I feel IMO (opinion does not mean I'm right just like yours) Clausen was a guy I would have taken, and THEN gotten the NT later..or even OL, or LB....lots of options were available with that 2nd.
  4. So I guess when the opinion is according to you, it is ok, but for me it is not
  5. I watched a Carolina game or two...Cam Thomas is going to be a very good fit for the Chargers and would have been for us...and a better value where the Bills could have drafted a QB or OT in the 2nd round.
  6. You assume that I never heard of the guy...thanks for assuming...you know what happens when you assume. Maybe a lot of teams passed on Cam because most dont NEED a pure 3-4 NT? Troupe was not going to be available in the 3rd? Or even later? Keep the denial. I am not suggesting at all that the players Nix drafted cannot be good, but the 2nd round pick was a misstep and IMO cannot be denied. Clausen should have been the pick there.
  7. And you are still in denial I see? Don't even DREAM of Faneca gentlemen..we are 3oth on his preference list I am sure
  8. It is not like the Buffalo Bills need a QB or anything...Raiders making much stronger picks and picking up a solid QB. San Diego gets a NT in Cam Thomas that is arguably BETTER then Trouple 3 ROUNDS later. Bills could have grabbed Clausen in Round 2 and STILL got a NT. Simply unbelievable. I can really say, even the Lions are having a great day, Buffalo is now the cesspool of the NFL when it comes to organizations. This is the lowest of the low.
  9. 04/02/2010 - PRO DAY RESULTS: When position coaches are dispatched to a pro day, it typically signifies a definite interest in a particular prospect. Remember that when it comes to Connecticut WR Marcus Easley (6-foot-2 3/4, 211 pounds). Included among the 20 team representatives on hand for UConn's pro day were the receivers coaches from the Jets and Ravens. That could be a good sign for Easley's draft stature, and he took advantage of the attention. He stood on most of his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine, but posted an impressive 37 1/2-inch vertical jump and looked good in position drills. - Gil Brandt, NFL.c
  10. Marshawn isn't going anywhere and he will probably have to get cut or just keep him at this point
  11. I completely agree Darin....great post... Plus remember there are still 3 VERY GOOD OL's available at the beginning of Round 2 right now...(Charles Brown, Roger Saffold)...if the Bills are not able to get Clausen and who even knows if the Bills want him, getting one of these OT's would be a steal....Brown and Saffold are no different then Baluga as an example, but Spiller was clearly the class of the draft from a RB standpoint.
  12. I agree 100 percent. You know what that is all about? Its about ESPN's massive ego and saying WE told you first and take the glory away from the commish, do not fool yourselves.
  13. I agree with what you say here. Although I do believe you are overreacting here a bit. Keep in mind, the off-season is long and a lot can happen. During the summer, players become available, and Nix does come from the Polian/AJ Smith etc tree, and generally they are not terribly active in this process. Bottom line: We NEED a QB to become the face of the franchise, a guy that we can depend on. Sign all the LB, TE, OL, a field general is needed FIRST, and then things will fall into place. You know why? Players around the NFL KNOW this, agents talk, players talk. If you are set to make big $ and you see we have Trent Edwards, backups, and a RB who is in trouble, one smallish WR, a rookie LT, a RT that retired, and a team transitioning to a new defense with few legit pieces to make that happen...would YOU want to come here? I think not.
  14. I have a friend who is from PAP in Haiti....so many friends and relatives he cannot contact...I cannot even imagine how that feels...its almost as if you feel helpless as I do for my friend right now
