  1. This week I started having problems playing videos on BuffaloBills.com. The thumbnail screen loads but I get the endless "loading" spinning icon. Videos from other sites (Youtube, Twitter, news sites, etc.) load fine. Tried rebooting and resetting my router, to no avail. I am running Windows 10 and the problem happens both on Chrome and Explorer. Help?

  2. For the first 4 games of the season, Jerry Hughes has just one penalty. In the past, we could count on him for a penalty at a rate of at least once every two games (8 penalties in 2016, 13 friggin' penalties in 2015, 9 penalties in 2014). He was frequently offsides, and regularly laying dumb shots on QBs after the ball was released. Just Jerry being Jerry, right? This season, I'm not so sure -- he seems focused and playing within his emotions. I really wonder if he's turned over a new leaf. "Trusting the process", perhaps?

  3. I think Zay will be fine in the long run, but I'm worried about the short-term implications for the team. I feel like we have a really thin margin of error, meaning that we need players to make the make-able plays consistently in order for us to win consistently. One starting receiver with a case of the yips could be the difference between a couple W's and L's.

  4. From today's MMQB "Quotes of the Week" section:

“Sometimes I think the Patriots have better Buffalo players than Buffalo has.”

—NBC’s Al Michaels, in the first half of the Patriots’ season-opener against the Chiefs.

Ex-Bill Chris Hogan was a Super Bowl hero for New England last year. Ex-Bill Mike Gillislee rushed for three New England touchdowns Thursday night.

Hell, I'm nervous about every game. The team does seem focused, though.

I agree about the focus. I watched the "Wired for Sound" with Zach Brown from the Pats game on bb.com, and was struck by how quiet it was on the field. Minimal hooting and hollering, even though they were dominating their staunchest foe. Takin' care of business.

That said, I too am totally nervous about Sunday. I'll be there in person, though -- can't wait!

  6. Thanks for posting this. Seeing Sammy's leadership on the field makes me reflect on how stupid it was for Rex to not name season-long captains, but instead use weekly captains as a childish way to taunt the opponents. Done correctly, a captain's role goes way beyond the opening coin toss, Rex. Sammy needs to have a C on his chest.

  7. I don't know if this has been posted anywhere else today, so forgive me if it has. I was at the game today, sitting at the 50 yard line behind the Bills bench. After the final Raiders touchdown, there was a commotion on the Bills sideline. I looked down and saw Kyle Williams screaming at Ron Brooks and attempting to go after him. He was being restrained by his D-line teammates, and Ron Brooks was being pulled away from the fray by Aaron Williams. Kyle looked like he was going to effing KILL Brooks -- it was a terrifying sight! Aaron pulled Brooks about 20 yards away from Kyle, and started yelling at Brooks, right up in his grill. Ronnie Henderson got involved and went and talked to both Kyle and Brooks, then went and talked to Schwartz.

Was wondering if this was reported on TV or anywhere else... or if any of my Bills brethren in Section 142 today got a better look at what started the fight. Either way, it can't be good. Aside from the bright side of Aaron taking a leadership role with the DBs, it was a bad sight to see. Looked at my daughter sitting next to me and said, "I think the wheels just came off."

  8. I'll be there. My 16-year-old daughter will be with me, so we'll be wearing neutral colors, mainly to spare her the venomous abuse we'd likely get if we wore our Bills gear. I'll be at the 50 yard line behind the Bills bench!

Truth be told, though, I bought these tickets last month because I figured the game would be blacked out here in the Bay Area. Now that it's a sellout and will be on TV, I have mixed feelings about going. Been to several Bills games there and it's definitely the least enjoyable place to see professional sports when rooting for the opposing team.

Hope to see some of you guys there...

  9. Most of yesterday's game was sickening to watch. My head is still spinning from feeling so dejected for 57 minutes of the game, followed by the excitement and shock of actually winning the game. So I went back and watched the last 3 minutes, and I have a whole different outlook this morning. Kyle was simply outstanding on the final drive. Most of his passes were laser strikes with pinpoint accuracy -- the slant to Sammy, the 2nd and 17 which hit Chandler on the hands, the 4th and 20 to save the game, the back-shoulder rocket to Hogan, and the TD to Sammy. His only "bad" passes were to avoid a sack and on the communication issue / phantom intentional grounding. His decisions about where to go with the ball were spot-on. Sammy was electrifying -- not just his catches but his competitive fire. Hogan's catch at the goal line was eye popping, and it wouldn't have been possible without perfect lacrosse-bred body positioning against the defender. Chandler had the awful drop but the route he ran on 4th and 20 was a thing of beauty. The O-Line was pushed to the brink when the Vikings blitzed, but kept a clean pocket against a 4-man rush.

The D-Line kept the game from getting away from us, just like the Lions game. The offense was putrid for most of the game but shifted into "spectacular" when the game was on the line. It's good to know we at least have "spectacular" mode this season.

  10. Lifelong allergy sufferer here, with sinus headaches almost every day. A few tips from my experience:

    1) If this is chronic, get an allergy test to figure out the underlying causes, so that you can deal with them environmentally or medicinally.

    2) This sounds weird but it's my most helpful tip: when I have sinus pressure in which I can tell which part of my sinuses is particularly full, I use accu-pressure on the adjacent area of my forehead. I find the softer spots in my forehead (where the skull plates come together) and push hard with my fingertips. I can actually feel the goop draining out of my sinunses when I do that.

    3) If you drink alcohol, make sure to drink a lot of water. This is a good tip regardless of other health problems, but with my sinus issues, I get a skull-crushing headache whenever I drink booze without drinking lots of water.
