  1. Ok, I'll throw gas on the fire... the only way his prediction makes me happier, is if 2 of those wins come against Buffalo.
  2. Smug is the right word. I swore he'd be begging for a trade that makes him a starter!
  3. Hell, you root against the champ until the champ goes down! I know its early, but us dolfans have an undefeated season to root against, and the Pats are more a threat than anyone else. Go Raiders!
  4. you know ajzepp, your right about soccer never getting huge in the US. We're well established in our sports and it'll be impossible to just create a league to rival the NFL. I always wondered though about FOX or NBC broadcasting games from the premier league here in the states. Id watch, pick a team, and root crazily. though, I understand how losing the live aspect would hurt.
  5. when you glimpse at nfluk, it looks dirty. /random note
  6. So would I.... but I'll take a 7-9 pick too. Wher eis Jon Kitna? Id actually be excited to see him starting. Anyone know his whereabouts? (Whereaboots for those Canadians in the crowd.)
  7. The gus bus should come with a direct connection to the suicide prevention hotline.
  8. nah.. he's Patriot butt smooching the whole way through. Even managed to get his beloved Red Sox in. Typical Simmons. I liked his stuff before the Pats or the Red Sox won.
  9. Im still torn between calling you hurley, and the character on lost Duey. And that's also for reminding me about Gus. I look forward to the NFL season, and then I remember that I've got Gus, and even if he gets hurt, then I have Feely. <sigh> I can at least look forward to Ronnie Brown.
  10. In case you've missed ESPN's Page 2 column on the upcoming season, Bill Simmons has made some bold predicitons, and added some intersting stats on the upcoming season. But what really got my attention was what I saw near the bottom of this article. AFC EAST New England: 12-4 NY Jets: 9-7 Miami: 7-9 Buffalo: 6-10 For good measure, he also added: "Even if [Kyle Orton] is hit-or-miss, it's not like he's going to be much worse than Kyle Boller, Bledsoe, J.P. Losman, Patrick Ramsey or half the crappy starters in the league." I think its funny. But I'll let you all rant, I know how we all love a good rant.
  11. I love that Lance is considering returning because it will piss off the french.
  12. Bills 6 Texans 14 sorry well, not really.
  13. I'll tell you what, soccer fans or not, the US will go nuts for the world cup next summer. Its our competitive nature. Anytime we get to compete against the world, we cheer our lungs out. Take the olympics... no one cares about competition swimming 3 out of 4 years... but in that fourth year, look out.
  14. So are you saying he's overrated? Take the compliment, Spikes is a lot better than a lot of people think. Use that as an advantage and quit whinning.
  15. What? Can this be? That's a big thing to give away.
  16. I like the idea of the D scoring first.
  17. First thing they say and they screw it up. There goes credibility out the window. Hard to keep reading when they mess up right off the bat.
  18. Great site, helps a lot. I feel better about my friends near Polydras Center. Apparently its dry there.
  19. Im not sure where your looking, but I saw 3.19 on a number of signs, and even worse, a few people changing their signs as people were driving in. In Atlanta
  20. arent we a bunch of pessimists. As for Sheena, I feel sorry for her, I appreciate that her son gave her life protecting mine. But that doenst mean she's not allowed to laugh or smile ever again in her life. Life goes on.
  21. 8 million of the Netherlands population lives in areas that are below sea level. That's not the problem nowadays. The problem is getting technology to fix the problem. Move the entire city? Are you crazy? While it makes sense on the surface, how long until you get a new metropolis functional again? And what about the cost?
  22. Quite frankly im sure those refugees in the hotel were just glad to get a few nights, and a shelter so that they're not in that mess of a city. And Im sure they were told, "you can stay here until September 2nd." And at that point in time, any place to stay was a godsend.
  23. Yeah, I must admit that I've caught myself doing that a few times, duey, hurley, huey even! As for the killing off of Kate. I think they'd do it. After all, they've shown that they have no fear of killing off major characters. Jack was supposed to die in the pilot, and we already lost Boone.
  24. He'll rebuild, you can bet on that (Adrian McPherson?)
