  1. ok...wtf....remember that thread about the older folks going to bed early....yeah...i am about 20 minutes from my nahgny time....but i don't want to miss anything...from here on out can you guys type in caps so i can hear when you post updates....PLEASE??????

Woke up at 2:30 am today and checked the internet to see what I missed. Read for 45 minutes and forced myself to get back to sleep.

    Way past nighty night time....

  2. I never give exact change, even if it's 1 cent, I'll take the 99 cents back.

I do this all the time and in about a year I get $100 to $150 in my Gatorade coin bottles. This

is with using my debit card mostly. I wonder how much I could save if I used cash exclusively?

Used to be able to go to First Niagara and cash in for free. Of course, they stopped it. Why would my

bank do something for me for free. Gotta charge the fee's baby!

Now I use Coinstar. Hate paying them, but can't stand rolling coin. The scuz you get on your

    hands is kinda gross.

  3. So does anyone want to report on what was said instead of arguing about the talking heads?

Russ said Bills moving to Entercom. Many stations to push the Bills on. Sounds like games on AM only, not broadcast on a FM Entercom station. No word on Murph and Kelso, although 550 did play a promo right after the interview of Murph calling a play. Russ says looking forward to the relationship, last time together Bills in Super Bowls. Talked about GM, player and coach radio shows- did not specify which station would carry what, but sounded like all the Entercom stations would get a taste.

For me, I hate the idea of the games on AM, cruddy signal. And if using internet app, too much lag. Also, can't wait to hear Schopp play nice, probably will be a gradual thing.

  4. Stevie told Fred he wishes he could take it back...would TO or Ocho? no...let's move on....stevie will be resigned as long as he and his agent aren't greedy.

    Define greedy?

If it's the Bills definition, anything over 7 million is greedy.

Hate saying it, but I came to grips with it a long time ago, he won't be back.

The Bills won't pay for talent. They have a few guys in the pipeline that showed

flashes of ability and will go with them - Easly being the most prominent and Roosevelt

    has shown flashes.

Stevie may want to be here, but the Bills will not pay him. The excuse will be that Stevie

    asked for too much.

  5. Its as simple as this: This organization is a joke. 12 straight years of not making the playoffs is utterly embarrassing. When we fired Dick Jauron, no good, big name coach wanted to come here because this organization is in such disarray. Its also blatently obvious that Nix and the front office are incompetent when it comes to the draft. This team needs to go after any and all big free-agents (especially defensive, for the love of god!) this offseason. This approach of trying to "fly under the radar" and get other teams scraps year after year is NOT WORKING! Also, I know that there is going to be this rational of "continuity" in regards to the coaching staff. I can understand it given certain circumstances. Those being things like: Good player development, schematically seeing your players grow into the system throughout the year, etc. But what Im about to say isn't mere speculation, or opinion, or fodder: GEORGE EDWARDS IS THE WORST DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR IN THE HISTORY OF THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE, THE AMERICAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE, THE UNITED FOOTBALL LEAGUE, THE ARENA FOOTBALL LEAGUE, THE CANADIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE , POP-WARNER, HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL, JUNIOR-HIGH FOOTBALL, THE XFL, THE LINGERIE FOOTBALL LEAGUE, OR ANY OTHER FORM OF FOOTBALL IN THE WORLD. Also, CUT LEODIS McFAIR-CATCH! That is all, now I feel better....

The Bills will not go after any big name FA's. They will not replace any coach with a name coach (unless it Wanny as we are already paying him).

They will not sign Stevie, or retain Freddie.

The Bills could care less to build a team that matters.

  6. Chan isn't going anywhere. He spouts the company line and his players love him (for now).

The Bills will do just enough in the offseason to be just below competetive next season, hence securing his staying.

As for assistant coaches, D coordinator is as good as gone. Someone has to be the sacrificial lamb.

  7. We have two iphones, one account.

The music and photos that she chooses for her phone end up on her phone, and the things I pick end up on my phone. Plugging in your phone, iTunes remembers your choices and also hers. You won't end up with the same stuff.

The only time you end up with each others stuff is in buying apps. If you buy angry birds, she will get it installed on her phone the next time she syncs. There might be a setting to avoid that but it hasn't bothered me as I'm not a huge app buyer.

You can pick and choose which apps get installed on the different devices. If you use the Apple Cloud, any app purchased using one iPhone will sync to the other iPhone automatically.

I have 3 iPod touches, 1 iPhone, 2 old iPod's and a few shuffles that all work off the one account. My only problem is the music my kids download is under my account name and are owned by me. If they get an account, I can't transfer that music to them.

  8. I much prefer a stat that is based on 100%.

The thing I like about the QBR is it takes everything into account. Really shows you

how a particular QB stacks up against others. Should be a great tool for fantasy football

    guys.

What I hate about is is the smugness that is ESPN.

  9. The players are going to have face reality that while the owners are making profits, there are TEAMS making less profit in a year than some players. Outside of that absurdity, a team worth a billion dollars that only make 15 million a year is a tough sale when there's very few who have the assets to buy a team without a loan. Banks aren't exactly lining up to loan a billion dollars when a team would need to devote every bit of profit to pay them back in 30-40 years especially when there is such volatility.

Add into that the rising cost of stadiums with less government money and it has to come from somewhere. It's only a matter of time until the players give in.

I have a tough time believing any NFL team total profit is 15 Million. You can cook the books any way you want when you're a big corporation.

Being involved in a labor dispute myself, it's the workers opinion that any give backs will never be recouped. Once you set a precedent, it's hard to get it back. I'm sure that's what they are feeling also.

Anyway, the NFL is trying to lower player costs before they get out-of-hand. I just hope they don't follow the NHL model that you take away, get some much needed financial relief, then start handing out outrageous contracts a few years later.

  10. My son is 11 years old and plays youth football. It is extremely competitive and we are looking for an edge. He plays MLB and RB and is a top player in his league. We had Cutter gloves last year, and they were good for a little while, but after wearing them 6 days a week the stickiness wore out (actually wore out pretty quickly) so I am looking for a better option. I saw Nike has the Nike Carbon gloves which look nice, but I don't know for sure. My son's spikes last year were Nike Shark I think, but my son said they were heavy and he couldn't cut well in them. He saw some Warrior Cleats (maybe made by New Balance) at Dunhams and they were listed as FOOTBALL cleats, but when I look them up online (see attached) they say they are for Lacrosse. My son's games are all on Natural Grass except 1 game on Turf. Would these Warrior cleats be a good option or is there something better? And why wouldn't they market these cleats as Lacrosse or Football since both are played on similar surfaces and demand the players do the same things? The cleats must be molded and cannot be metal.

    Warrior Cleats

My son plays o-line/d-line and doesn't like gloves, so no opinion on those.

He did love his Under Armour shoes though, light and fit very well versus his Nikes the year prior. They seemed to be more form fitting, with less play in the foot and ankle than the Nikes. IMHO, they looked like he could get another season out of them no problem (if only his size 10 feet would stop growing!). As I recall, they were pretty competitively priced. If you have a D_icks Sporting Goods near you, the points program gets you mailed flyers with double points, and $$ off athletic stuff. Believe I was able to get $10 off the sale price last year.

  11. I agree in principal with the original poster. Dumping talent is dumb unless you have someone better to replace them.

Whitner is better than people give him credit for because they are still pissed we didn't draft Ngata. That being said he isn't anything special on the field but a solid player and a guy who publicly says he wants to win and wanted to stay in Buffalo. Believe it or not those guys don't grow on trees. Free agents aren't beating down Buffalo's door for an opportunity to play. Whitner will probably not be missed at all.

Poz, I don't know what it is with the love affair that many have with this guy. He is a solid player but he gets hurt almost every year, doesn't have sideline to sideline speed to play the middle and can't cover a TE to save his life. Look back at all the TE scores or big plays on the Bills this year. Often that TE was Poz's coverage responsibility. Even more damning is that in my opinion he has been outplayed every year by the guy he replaced, London Fletcher. Anyone remember all the complaints about Fletcher? Led the team in tackles, supposedly all were downfield after significant gains by the RB, etc? Sound like anyone whose name ends in "luzny"?

Fitz at QB isn't our biggest problem. Give the guy some credit. He was held behind Trent Edwards who we tried to show case for the first 4 weeks to get some trade value and missed out on starter reps in training camp and preseason when it counted. THAT being said, if Luck falls to us which he won't, you take him!

Barring something that ridiculously "lucky" we get guys on defense. We get DT that can hold up against the run so we can actually run the 3 - 4. We get DE/LB that can rush the passer, hold the edge in the run game and stay in position on the backside to cover the cutback run. We get LBs with sideline to sideline speed and the ability to cover TEs.

The offense just needs time for already acquired talent to develop. WR will be one of our strengths when everyone is healthy. RB is set. All we need, STILL, is for the oline to gel and for the love of all that is football get us a freaking RT. Maybe that is Wang who was injured for months. I know the idea isn't popular and doesn't come with any guarantee of success but get us a really good LT and move Bell to RT ...IF AND ONLY IF HE IS CAPABLE OF IT.

It has become apparent to me that the improvements that I thought the o-line made might largely be attributable to Fitz calling out the protections, helping the line to make calls, running the right plays and getting rid of the ball. Fitz had us forgetting about the offensive line for a while but I am reminded of the first games with Trent, the game with Fitz hurt and then Brohm. A good line is a good line regardless of who is behind center. We don't have a good line yet.

    Well said.

If Luck really is the once in a lifetime guy, and the Bills believe that, then get him. Otherwise stick with Fitz, maybe kick back a few spots in the draft and pick up another pick or two and get some bodies in here.

Our needs go much farther than QB, we need: LB's, DL, O-Tackle, TE, CB, Safety, WR. Why get rid of Poz and Whitner and make more holes, our d-line is pathetic. Do we even have a TE on this roster?? Corner may be less of a problem. if Whitner goes we need a safety. A proven WR might no hurt (not highest priority). As far as I can tell, we don't have enough draft picks to fill these needs. We are going to need to be very active in FA, get some GOOD players (not Walker, Dockery or Green), and SPEND SOME MONEY!

We need more than just QB and I can't see spending the money or high pick on just one guy. Move back a few picks, and spread that money over a few guys who can help.

Oh, and a new defensive coordinator would not hurt.

  12. The wife of a friend had her heart set on getting an iPad. So, yesterday I went with my friend to the Apple Store in Jacksonville to help him select the right model and such.

While I typically don't go for extended warranties, I suggested he spend the $100 on the 3-year warranty from Apple. This way, should things like the headphone jack get buggy (and little things like this seem to be fairly commonplace with these devices) he can get it fixed (or replaced) for free. Since the unit itself was about $800, it seemed like reasonable insurance for something that is likely to experience some issues.

Cell phone insurance is another interesting thing. I never get it, but I'm pretty good with my phones. OTOH, if you are someone who has a lot of problems with your phones (like a friend of mine who throws them when he gets pissed off), the insurance might be good for you.

The nice thing about the apple warranty is it covers the battery also. I love Apple products, you can call me a fanboy if you want, but the batteries are the worst in the industry.

  13. -Our LB's, except for Ellison, played horribly today.

    -Kelsay can't cover.

    -Davis had trouble covering.

    -Davis had trouble tackling today.

    -Florence looked kinda slow.

    -Jackson should have run more.

-Spiller should of had more touches.

-Trent is abysmal. Don't care if the o-line gives little time or not. He got a nice 15+ yard

toss to Parrish in just a few seconds. He holds on to the ball too long and thinks the receiver

needs to be wide open to try a pass. He needs to understand "NFL open" which is just a small

    window, not wide open.

-Stevie Johnson had his chance and missed.

I understand the Bills brain trust is rebuilding, but man, these guys have to play better. And,

bench Trent and start Brohm. Brohm is the only one that has any upside over Fitz and Edwards. Really,

what do we have to lose?

  14. Pre- and post draft I was pretty tough on this guy. Now, not so sure he doesn't deserve a chance.

Pretty sad article, could feel the dudes pain.

As for the NFL, if Vick and Big Ben didn't do what they did, he may have gotten a chance. All the

NFL needs to do is put stories out supporting the guy, ie: through NFLN, ESPN and so on, and explain

his situation. Yeah, people will automatically think child molester, but need to understand the

circumstances. The dude had one close person in his life, his sister. As much as I don't understand

how they did what they did, I understand the circumstances of his life at the time.

His best chance at a shot in the NFL is to end up in the CFL, or UFL and play well enough. Maybe those

are the only leagues he'll ever play in.

Maybe he needs to forget the big payday of the NFL and use his past to help other kids. Become a spokesman

of sorts for helping other kids. What he needs to do now is do what is best for his family.

As for worrying if he can play in Toronto, or anywhere outside the US, the NFL attorneys would make that

    a non-issue.

  15. Making the long trek from Clarence, NY and hanging out at my friends Bro's house off of Abbott.

Miller Lite, burger, dogs, pineapple rum/orange juice drinks.

Sitting upper deck with my Bruce Smith jersey on!

Mighty Taco and a few more beers watching the DVR of the game.

Already have Monday off to sleep my hangover off.....
