  1. It was just pre-season. It's kind of like foreplay. The coaching wanted to get JP a feel for the speed of the game and what to expect this Sunday. There is no question we will be a run oriented team, but not with JP leading the team in rushing. Remember the Ravens Superbowl. The qb was Trent Dilfer. His job was to hand the ball either to the right side or the left side of his body to Jamal Lewis. Occassionally through the ball and not lose the game.
  2. Kyle Ingraham is as big as Pete Metzelaars. Wouldn't JP love a target that big. He would be a project a la Jason Peters, but man it would bring back the glory days with JP, Willis, Evans, and a monster te.
  3. I know it's way early but a rb I would love to see us get is out of USC--he is as big as Willis----LenDale White. He is 6'2" and 235lbs. Anyone think we can get him? He could be an awesome back-up and eventually Willis if he decides to bolt for more money. Your thoughts?
  4. In New Hampshire, The Old Man In The Mountain---rock formation is gone. It sheared off and went splat, 2003, I believe. The mosquitoes are brutal but the black flies are the real pain in the ass. The Maine slogan--"Black flies don't bite, they suck." Mt. Washington isn't the highest mountain on the planet, but has some of the worst weather. The mountain is under 7000 feet. It is the highest peak in the entire northeast. Climbers train on it before taking on Mt. Everest. Mt. Washington has the highest recorded wind speed in history. The wind speed was over 231 mph in 1931!! This is no b.s. It is still a record to this day. The temp. difference is typically 40-50 degrees cooler on top than on the bottom. For more info on "The Rock Pile" go to www.mountwashington.org or www.mountwashington.com Right now the temp on top is 46, winds are 30 mph, with gusts over 35 mph. That comes to a wind chill of 32. People go up there unprepared and have to be rescued. In winter there are avalanches in places like Crawford's Notch and Tuckerman's Ravine. Just a tidbit from a Bills sufferer in Maine. The Bills are due, hell the Red Sox won the world series.
  5. I live in Maine and not too far from the AP Trail. Use common sense when out in the woods. Never travel alone. Have an agenda or schedule for checkpoints. I hike all along the trail in Maine etc...I bring my dog(doberman), hiking stick, canteen, carb bars, and a hunting knife. Just common sense. If you go camping you need the proper gear and experience. The statistics you have shown need to be taken with a grain of salt. If you want a real adventure go wonder around the Bronx or Brooklyn or be a real thrillseeker and wander around Central Park. More people meet disaster in the city than ever will on the AP Trail. By the way I was born and bred in New York--Rochester. Was stationed in Louisiana. Mardi Gras is fun, but very unsafe. That's my two cents.
  6. Ty Law will have to settle for low contract tender, until he can prove he is 100% healthy. I have broken my foot, ankle, among other things. The hard artificial turf and the cold weather climates could force him to retire.
  7. if he kicks ass in the upcoming season. lock him into a long term contract. a healthy willis is going to be a top 5 back in the league.what's the problem? bruce smith sniveled about his contract every season. rashard lee is happy being the back-up. looks like a remake of thomas and davis with a hard nosed qb under center.
  8. am bored and wondering out loud--would you trade eric moulds and travis henry for terrell owens?
  9. Upon further review, the season will be ok. The defense ranked in the top 5 depending on which sports mag you read. The defense does not need much tweaking right now. If anything the defense will be better with another year in the same system. Special teams outside of our kicker will only improve. JP was our first round pick this season with NFL experience. The o-line with all fine with the addititons . Teague will move to LT. The pick from Vanderbilt wil be outstanding. We are a team in transition but we are on the way up. Preston will make his mark at center. Travis Henry can sit and mope he wants--it will come back and bite him. Next year we will draft defense.
  10. just wait. we can keep travis. some team will end up with a rb injury--hopefully not us. if travis wants to snivel, let him rot on the bench or put him on special teams. he will only hurt himself. some team will have an rb injury and travis will then be in high demand. why trade travis for a lower tier lineman? here are some teams that are an rb injury away from trading for an rb of travis henry's quality: -49ers-barlow sucks -the stinking fish-no ricky -jets-curtis isn't getting any younger -cardinals-nuff said -cowboys-no one behind jones -giants-dayne is gone -bucs-pittman and garner won't last the season don't forget our beloved bills. if willis goes down, who can we rely on? besides travis is under contract. he may whine and pout, but he is under contract. if he bitches too much he will only alienate other teams.
  11. i would draft him as a fullback project in the late rounds. he is more than big enough. never had a serious injury. a backfield of macghee and clarett would not be hard to take. his contract size would be next to nothing. he would be grateful just to be drafted.
  12. read on a new orleans forum that howard was traded to the lions for their 2nd round pick. ouch!!
  13. Hypothetically speaking...if we had kept Flutie and not traded for Rob Johnson, what QB would you have drafted to replace him?
  14. started at suny frdonia-got booted for too much partying. graduated from suny plattsburgh 1986
  15. Travis Henry may be in Buffalo whether he likes it or not. Nobody is giving us anything for him. He is under contract. His stupid ego may clash but put his ass on the bench. Some team will get an rb injured and then we will be able to trade him. If he raises too much of a stink, suspend his ass or stick him on special teams. The Pats put starters on special teams--last time I checked they are the champs. If Travis had half a brain he would accept his fate, be a professional, play out his contract and go wherever he wants. Maybe a dose of humility is what he needs. The lack of interest should make him feel fortunate that he is earning an NFL salary. Something tells me that his IQ is somewhere between a beet and a cabbage. Let's see him earn the money he is making now in the real world. The more he pisses and moans, displays a rotten attitude, the less likely other teams will sign a second tier player. Randy Moss didn't exactly have the league knocking down his door. Your thoughts...
  16. kent hull was perhaps the best player the bills ever had. we have not been the same since his retirement. would love to see him become a o-line coach.
  17. Cool Hand Luke What we have here is a failure to communicate.
  18. Why does it seem we have given up a great deal for every qb we ever had? I am a 41 year old transplant in Maine. Is it me or when we are in the market for a QB, we over spend? Outside of Joe Ferguson and Jim kelly we have rolled the dice and have been screwed 9 out of 10 times. Todd Collins was a joke as Jim Kelly's heir apparent. We sign Flutie and then give up a first round draft pick for Rob Johnson. Don't get me started about Flutiegate. If we had not taken RJ and left Flutie alone we ceratinly could not have been any worse than we were with RJ. Look at all the potential quality players we lost due to trading for RJ. Trading a 1st rounder for Drew Bledsoe was brutal. He is gone but look at what we could have had even draft wise without trading for that statue. We gave up a ton for Losman and now Drew is in Dallas along with the picks we gave to Dallas for Losman. I hope Losman turns out to be decent. We need a tight end safety gap. Kelly had Metz and a good rb named Thurman to take the pressure off of himself. I think Willis will be a stud. JP just has to understand the difference between his left and his right, because I see us handing the ball off alot. A quality TE who can block would make JP that much more comfywould be awesome. Is Jason Peters going to develop into a TE? Can you see him as an H-back? If we don't get a quality TE in free agency we need to draft one. Wouldn't Lamont Jordan look awesome in a Bill's uniform as a back up or a kick in the ass for Willis? Your thoughts on my little rant?
  19. Why not trade T. Henry for someone like Ragone or Garrard? Brian Griese for T. Henry.
  20. We will not be 3-13. Even if JP didn't start until 2006, we would still have growing pains. Bledsoe has no upside with this team anymore. JP will be handing the ball off more than he will be called upon to win it with his arm. We are going to be a runnning team. What i would love to see is a quality tight end to use as a safety valve.
  21. i am a long time suffering bills fan in maine. the pats will win. in fact i will wager the eagles will not score more than 10 points. it could even produce the first shut out in super bowl history. wouldn't the eagles make excuses about terrel owens?!! there i no way the team players let charlie weis and romeo crennel leave the pats on a losing note. they have too much respect for the two of them. your thoughts?
  22. I was pondering the what if thing today. What if We had stuck to our original plan of signing Doug Flutie and making him the starter? What if we had used the draft picks we traded away for gems like Rob Johnson and Drew Bledsoe? We still would have had to draft a young college qb to replace Flutie. Flutie must be smiling every morning he wakes up in San Diego. I am not suggesting we would have won a super bowl with Flutie at the helm, but he looked pretty good for the Chargers this year. You never hear of any problems with him and Drew Brees. Hell, we could have drafted Drew Brees. Your thoughts?
