  1.

Just thought I would point out how good we got it, as far as going to an NFL game if we wish.

For tomorrow's game we are expecting reasonable December weather with no precipitation.  I can buy a pair of nosebleeds to the game tomorrow on Vividseats.com, including the fees, for $25.54.... A PAIR.

The cheapest price offered, including fees, currently for a pair of seats at Gillette Stadium for next week's Bills-Pats game on Vividseats is $630.28.  Enjoy it while you can.

  2. And speaking of Dahlin....

Highlight video of last night's game from youtube.  Go to the 4:00 minute mark and watch Dahlin play defense on the Pens 2nd goal.  I played forward generally when I played but even I see several things Dahlin does wrong on this one rush.  Imo, he is chiefly responsible for the minus.

At about the 6 minute mark, his offensive skills on display.  Very nice goal.  Offense from the D is terrific and appreciated.  He can play offensive hockey but I really question his desire and heart on defense.

When he first began I was impressed that he never seemed to panic when he made a mistake.  I mistook it for poise.  If there is ever a time to show urgency, aka panic, it is when you yourself have screwed up and caused the scoring chance.  What I first thought of as poise now appears to me to be quitting on the play - a lack of caring.  Simply put, when he screws up, he gives up on the play way too early and way too often, imo.

  3. Over the years I have been on crutches way too often but have only been to two Bills games on crutches.  Some recollections.....

    - very tiring even when young and in shape.  Of course, we parked in our usual spot out on Rt 20 and sat in regular seats in the 300's.

    - quite a few stumbles but no actual falls with crutches sliding out when slipping on trash (or ice) or being bumped by other fans

    - can't carry much of anything when crutching so you need help

    - hopped up the stairs on good leg....i was young   lol

    - no place to put crutches in seating area resulting in disgusting sticky beer covered crutches   fun

    - trips to the bathroom were typical effort times 3

    - the standing fan thing is very much reality and one leg gets tired twice as fast

    - on a good note, I had a final breakup fight with a girlfriend. She was 'furious' that I went to the seats after I finished in bathroom.  It took her a bit longer and she waited for me outside the mens room for about a quarter.  She thought I should have hopped back down to find her.  Since that was exhausting, I thought differently.  lol

Ah, thanks for the memories and best wishes for a better experience than I had.  Several fine tips given above.  Doubtless too that it will be a much better time if the Bills do their part.  Have fun!

  4. They could certainly use some more offensive creativity.  That plan where our forwards cross the offensive blue line and then skate into the defenseman and give the puck away ... that plan ain't producing much.  Frustrating to watch too.  I agree though that there is no sense throwing future assets away to improve on that this season.  This team is going nowhere anyway.  Get some returns from injury and let the young guys move up and gain experience this year.

Dahlin is a marvelous skater. He is a good power play quarterback and he is improving in that role.  He is good offensively but still a defensive liability 5 on 5.  His skating covers for many mistakes but he makes way too many to be a top tier defenseman.  I would try the guy at wing late in some game to see if he can add anything to our offensive game.  No worries about ruining his defensive mindset because he doesn't now have one

I guess I haven't followed the guy for long but is there some reason the Sabres announcers can't call our young goalie 'Luukkonen'?  You know, his last name, like every other player the announcers name?  Three syllables doesn't seem too difficult - 'Lew - KO - Nen'.  Does the guy insist on 'UPL' or something?

  5. Hello Governor.  Glad you have found relief from your pain using kratom.  Steady significant pain takes over a person’s mental bandwidth and so can take away from every other facet of a person’s life.  Pain relief is wonderful.  Congrats.

I think your take on cannabis is just that, your experience with whatever cannabis strains you tried for your issues.  Outside of your experiences, cannabis has proven to be quite effective in treating pain and anxiety.  Referring again to a mental bandwidth, cannabis seems to free up bandwidth by sort of allowing the pain to be moved to the back burner.  I, and many, many others, have gotten significant pain relief using cannabis.

Having said that, pain has many causes and cannabis is better treating some types of pain than others.  In addition, individual responses to cannabis vary widely due at least in part to the state of the individual’s endo-cannabinoid system prior to treatment.

Preferring one pain medicine over another is based on experience and whatever works for you is great.  I think where your argument against cannabis fails is over generalizing your experiences and assuming since what you tried did not help you, that the medicine can’t help others. It can and does.

Did you ever record a game and then voluntarily click on a thread that says "NHL" in the title and then blame your foolishness on somebody else ? - )

Oh, certainly I take the blame. I was just a bit exasperated and poking a little fun at the spoiler.

I knew if it was critical, I shouldn’t go online at all. I record games all the time and try to get news without getting the wrong news.  I looked at this Sabres thread thinking there may have been some trade news, btw.  So, sure, I take blame.  Of course

On the other hand, with scores in a hundred places, why do people post spoiler ‘news’?  It is completely unnecessary here and , in a case like mine, completely unwanted.  Just my two cents. Not that the OP wanted to spoil, just that it may indeed be more thoughtful to not provide scores these days

What a win by the Isles in OT! Especially after getting destroyed 8-0 last game.
Amazing they forced a game 7. I really want them to pull off the series win.

Did you ever record a game and hope to watch it later, without knowing the result?  Yeah, I’ve done that too

  8. It seems we must have some offer on the table for Ertz at this point. Since a trade for him hasn’t happened, we can assume the Eagles want more than our offer. We can also assume the Eagles aren’t waiting on Buffalo, so no one else’s offer has been deemed good enough either.

Sweetening the offer might get it done but we don’t really have a strong need either.  I think I would be going the other way.  If, hypothetically we have offered a 5th, I would make it clear that is only through a certain date, say July 1st for example. After that date, the offer becomes a 6th.  The guy may be worth more but, then again, apparently not if no one is surpassing our offer.  The market pretty much demonstrates a player’s worth at a given time.  I guess I would like to have him but don’t see why we need to chase.  The Eagles have to do something.  We don’t really

  9. I stumbled upon this Brit comedy panel/game show on YouTube.  ‘Would I Lie to You’ or WILTY has many seasons of entertainment too if you do find it funny.

There are a couple of highlight shows that first got me into it.  They are labeled ‘WILTY Best Bits’ if you do YouTube search

    from the article

The aim of the game is to fool the opposition into mistaking fact for fiction and fiction for fact. To do so, panellists need quick-wit and a poker face. Only those who can think on their feet will survive interrogation from the other team.

An ounce??  The 70's called and they want their weed distribution back.

That purchase amount (an ounce) is not antiquated as much as it is tied to state il/legality.  In illegal states, ‘bulk’ purchases are still very much the norm.  Larger amounts give volume discounts as well as less contact with the illegal interactions.

In legal states, ‘kid in the candy store’ is much more common. I’ll have one of those and two of those and oooh, those purple ones...yeah, two of those and give me....  unless you’re a wuss and only use a gram a year.     Lol
