  1. there were a lot of small school kids drafted highly. bradberry, for example, was drafted too high. and ILB blake whatshisname from stanford. its hard to believe that mid rounders, where depth players need to be found, are used on small school boom or bust projects so often.

boom or bust is 6th and 7th, at least in my books.

Not much of a bust, though, if you only spend a 6th or 7th pick on him.

  2. no. No. No. No. The worst term is "re-up"

It sends chills down my spine. Every time I hear it, it makes me want to punch a baby.

Mrags, I wonder why you shudder when you hear "re-up".

It was used in the military as the term to "re-enlist" (sign up for 6 more years in the Army or whatever branch).

The re-up concept was quite distasteful to some soldiers because they were not there voluntarily. This was the Vietnam era when the draft was still in effect. I can't imagine why the term "re-up" in a football sense would bug you, but everybody has their buttons.

Personally, I find the expression "I just threw up in my mouth a little" to be pretty foul, but some people like to express themselves that way.

Off topic a bit, but hey, that's life.

  3. I'm always up for watching some football in those dead months of Spring. Hopefully, these guys can make it work.

But who in the hell is the American Sports Network??? I hope Directv carries it.

QB Casey Pachall (TCU) - any Bills fans remember having high hopes for him? Then he bombed out of school, got in some trouble.

    Best of luck to them.

  4.

We called it hitching. I expected when I grew up that I was going to have my car hitched by kids and constantly be hit by snowballs. None of that happened. What the hell happened to kids?

It was pogying in Kenmore, too.

Cars don't have the classic "bumpers" any more, so unless a 1968 Chevy is driving down the street, you have nothing to grab onto on the back of today's cars.

  5. I moved to the Raleigh NC last year. My wife and I tried some Bojangle's fried chicken, and after a few bites, it was crunchy, slightly spicy, but it just had NO FLAVOR. How do you leave out the frickin' flavor? Maybe the desserts are good, but I won't buy their chicken again.

We had breakfast at a Waffle House in Vicksburg, Mississippi on our way driving across the country. It was memorable, but not exactly in a good way.
