1. POOJ,

I do not have Disney Timeshares but I have Fairfield.

I bought in Orlando and thought it was a good deal at the time.

I was told I had first prioroity and if I called the first day I could I would automatically get a room of my type since owners at a resort get first choice.

I called several times to make sure I was booked at the earliest possible point and each time I was told I was too early, I called several days in a row before the date to insure that I was going to be first. The exact date I was allowed to book I called right when office opened up and I was told 'booked'.

It appears that the rules are different at timeshares if you are a 'regular' owner or one of these 'super' owners are like many of the agents are. They oversell many of the points packages which are low as ways to get people to join and then they keep pushing you to buy more. I have not been able to stay at my resort since I bought my points and have had to stay at other resorts during off periods to get to stay at all.

I you buy and I do not recommend you do, buy used; there are plenty of dissatisfied customers for good reasons and you can buy for a lot less.

  2. One has to wonder if there may be any ramifications for having an older stadium.

That's a lot of cities.  Is there a somewhat secret policy to have all NFL teams outfitted with new stadiums?  There are talks in Minneapolis, New Orleans and San Diego for new stadiums.  A vast majority of NFL cities either have a new stadium or have plans at various stages in the mix.

    298152

It is not a secret  - the NFL policy is to get as many publicly funded stadiums as possible leaving more for other investments and profit. The more they do that, the more the value of the teams go up.

Besides scheduling Superbowls, the NFL does a lot of cherry picking in other part of schedules depending how favorible the stadium is to various networks, press, etc.

If the NFL could have their way they would be funded by government like politicians with retirement at full benefits after a few years and full staff paid for and all of the perks you could ask for.

  3. As an example here is my house:

    http://img197.exs.cx/img197/4056/housesatellite6rt.jpg

In yellow is my house. It thought my house is where the pink square is but is at the end of the route where green triangle is. The highlighting of the house in yellow and red and the circle, line and label were done by me; the rest is by Google's mapping company DigitalGlobe.

I could only get it to work with Google Directions

    http://maps.google.com/

Mapquest has satellite maps (I have used it for Hammer's Lot in past) but not as easily or as adjustable as this. Here is news article on it:

  4. I wish we could all pool in for that, only corporations  can own teams now (exception Green Bay). Go for it, but hurry, Ralph isnt staying on terra firma forever, I love him, but he is getting up there.

    296931

Not precisely. There is a loophole.

Your business can be investing and your investors be non-voting partners (it is a certain class of stock) but it could NOT just be an investment on the Bills. If Warren Buffet (sp?) wanted to start an investment partnership and had told you he was intended on buying the Bills as one of the partnetship's assets you could invest just not the same way as Green Bay. What the NFL definitely does not want is a Vikings with so many partners.

  5. I'll give it my best shot, but I'm not all that familiar with the area since every week there are 300 new condo complexes on what was once undeveloped land.  It's near the intersection of I-66 and Rt. 50, sort of "across the street" from I-66 and Fair Oaks Mall (although I don't think you can "cross" from the mall to this area.  More specifically, it's off of Lee Hwy (rt 29) on Monument Drive, right next to the massive Fairfax County Government Complex.  Mapquest the addy for more specific directions:

    11620 Monument Drive, Fairfax, VA.

    Hope this helps.

Warning: So electronic maps including google are wrong so look at Wegmans map first

  6. So you are saying that he is a pretty good minor league player

    294470

So was Moorman and that QB who played for Rams in Superbowl, Kurt Warner I think. The point is that some players blossom in NFL Europe and the only way to recognize them is to give them honest shots. Too bad the Bills are not as effective as other teams at developing players in NFL Europe; even Moorman was another team's player.

  7. What, no ass shots of Bruce Willis?

Just tell me Jessica Alba is naked or at least partially and I'll drop the $8 and see it today.

    294114

Jessica Alba's role was originally supposed to be a partially nude scene but she thought she looked better in the outfit from the film (I doubt many guys agree). Their is an article on netscape today.

I was thinking about taking my wife but now probably not; she likes violence and action in my movies but not so fond of T&A.

  8. Have you experienced the same person who routinely makes calls to your house and doesn't get the message when you tell them you're not interested in their products or services?

What have you done to block a specifice number or range of numbers?

I'm aware that the phone company provides a call blocking service but it's not full proof.

I've already threatened legal action which I'm quite serious in since I have the number on caller ID.

    290174

    Government do not call list

    https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

Only ones who are exempt are:

    1. Pollsters (despite trying to sell you a slanted bag of goods)

    2. Political (despite they are trying to sell a bag of gas)

    3. Charities (despite trying to sell you salvation)

Three months later, if they continue to call report and collect.

In the meantime I recommend getting a telezapper. It works against the autodial by computers telemarketers.

Only one I am still having problems with is the timeshare sales people who do not seem to understand rules apply to them as well.

  9. Yep. Many times but they always got dropped before they went to booking phase except once.

I used to work in the pub at UB, cleaning mostly but other jobs as well, some I got a bit of a "reputation" for joining fights mostly pulling people off but occasionally being hit and hitting back. I had a bit of a temper those days and since I barely felt it when I was getting hit (I can feel all of the hits now!) I rarely learned to keep out. Campus police were VERY aware of me but in each and every time someone would say I was just breaking up the fight.

I worked the Monte Carlo night as a dealer and one drunk backhanded me and knocked over my glasses. I heard glass breaking, thought my glasses were broken costing me $200 I did not have and overreacted. A minute later the drunks friends are holding us apart and he is telling his friend to let him go. They say something to the effect "Yo u friggin' moron, we are holding you back to prevent you from getting killed which is why there are THREE of us holding HIM back. Neither of us are ready to drop it so they gang drag the two of us outside. Campus police show up and he says "That jerk attacked me, he attacked me unprovoked. Tell these idiots to let me go." The campus police deadpans "Right. I'll give you two choices - one, go back to your dorm quietly or two we and your friends go away and we come back and pick you up off the ground and decide if we need arrest Glenn here afterwards. Your choice." He still seems ready fight but his pals are shaking their heads 'No.' and saying things like "Don't get yourself killed idiot." and finally he consented to go back to his dorm. I found my glasses after cleanup and spent an hour being lectured by cops but no trip in squad car.

Fast forward several years later. I was living off campus and they were shutting down student union to create a dental school. I was in that student union almost every weekend, all weekend, and it was decided that since we paid for the student union with our dues they had no right to take it away were going to have a peaceful protest and sit in. Nobody left the student union in days and the university decides to finally send campus police in with regular police as backup. They warn us several times that anyone remaining will be arrested with about a quarter of the people remaining.

At that time we hear that cops are coming in to arrest people and I heard comments about "dirty pigs" and such. I talk down any such comments saying the campus police are not our enemies, the campus government are and the police I know support our cause but have no choice in matter for they can not decide who to arrest and if they didn't arrest us the regular cops would.

The cops come into the student union room we are staying in and two cops point at me and say when it is HIS time, he comes with us. We are photographed one by one with cops (witnessed) and given papers to sign saying that if we do not get arrested within a year all charges would be dropped and our records would have be expunged as if it never happened otherwise we would be sent to Buffalo courthouse to be booked. When it came to my turn I put my arms on shoulders of two cops and smile at camera with them trying to keep a straight face. It was the two cops from night of Monte Carlo "fight".

Arrested, charged but charges were dismissed, no conviction.

  10. I should be back by weekend of May 7. I was supposed to be back last weekend of April but I may need to stay later and be flying back on 4/30 or 5/1.

Weekend of May 14 is very iffy, schedule changed again.

It appears I am working weekends of May 21, May 28 (including Memorial Day) and June 4.

Nothing weekends after June 4 (June 11 and June 18) until school ends.

June 25 I fly to Hong Kong via Hawaii.

  11. I posted this on the Baltimore/Washington Washington/Baltimore Forum:

but since everyone does not read that board, I thought I'd post a pointer to it.

Jimmy's is sponsoring an alumni game in Northern Virginia and 12 former and current players will be playing on team vs local team.

It is a charity game to earn money for scholarships and there will be a reception with players at Jimmy's afterwards.

If you miss hockey the game is tomorrow Sunday, March 20.

  12. Fans of the Buffalo Sabres and other professional hockey teams have little to cheer about these days, but Jimmy's Old Town Tavern along with several sponsors are attempting to change that, at least a little. Jimmy's, located at 697 Spring Street in Herndon, is hosting "Nickel City Sunday" on March 20th, which will feature a game between 12 NHL alumni from the Buffalo Sabres and Jimmy's "All New Hockey Team." The event will take place at the Ashburn Icehouse ice rink at 21595 Smithwich Road and will be open to the public.

Current and former Pro players scheduled to appear include: Jim Bedard, Richie Dunn, Grant Ledyard, Larry Playfair, Fred Stanfield, Derek Smith, Rick Martin, Rob Ray, Ric Seiling, and Morris Titanic. Mike Boland and Don Lever are coming instead of Matthew Barnaby and Craig Muni as listed in article.

The event will be followed by a "Meet the Players" event at Jimmy's.

Tickets for the game are available at Jimmy's Old Town Tavern.
