Guys, the damn fins were 17 mil over and now have landed McDougal and T Jones. Yet we were 9 mill under and have signed squat, (well we signed our clipboard holder).
This isnt a team that is rebuilding in so many areas that it doesnt matter. This is a team that was one game away from the playoffs.
I just have no frikkin clue who we are going to have protecting JP's blindside next year. Pace is set to be dealt, theres no one left in FA worth that much. WTF!
The sky isnt falling, I still trust TD and McN but this doesnt look very good on the cover. Maybe they feel they already have there starting LT (Teague or Williams). I would consider both to be questionable as solid LT's at this point.
TD is talking up the guys in the draft, he tends to be a straight shooter and maybe McN sees a future stud T, G, or C that will be at their pick, it could be. But, do they really expect that draftee to come in here and not get big penalties or blow calls in the first year? How many 1st downs can we give up because of sacks and/or penalties?
I just dont see it. We cleared all that cap space and have done squat with it. Its not over by a long shot and TD slammed guys like me and others by saying that FA isnt over until training camp. Its well put, but is he banking on high priced studs to get released after June 1? Most of those guys are 30 somethings who are past there prime. I guess I wouldnt mind a Larry Allen type while some draftee is being groomed.
You just have to admit that on the cover this looks like an ultra conservative offseason which may turn out to put us back as far as overall talent, not forward.

They can and should. The only thing that would prevent it from happeneing is Clements himself wanting to wait and test the market for bigger money. One thing that works in our favor is that some of the anually tagged CB's have signed and now the market is set. It gives TD and even Clements numbers to work from. I see this getting done a.l.a. SChobel maybe mid-season once the team is set.

Round 2: Charlie Frye QB
Round 3: Oshiomogho Atogwe FS
Round 4: Craphonso Thorpe WR
Round 5: Uriah Moenoa OG or Billy Bajema TE
Round 6: Sam Lightbody OT or Sione Pouha DT
Round 7: Kenneth Petway OLB
UDFA: Sonny Cumbie QB
I tried to make picks at positions the Bills might be interested in.
My "real" picks are in my signature line. One of both will be drafted by the Bills.

I love the Jones, Lefors, and Ferri picks. However, David Baas may drop, Elton Brown, and CJ Brooks all are better than the 2nd rounder you listed. I personally wouldnt mind moving up to to early 2nd to get Baas who can play both G or C.
In the 3rd you have us grabbing a LT, fine I like that, but how about Mike Munoz? I have my own favorite at this spot, Jerome Mathis a young studly looking WR.

Listen jerk, he didn't line up on the wrong side. He lined up on either side and he should have sat in front of him. What he did was expose the ball to the LB, IMHO. It was a 1st down play and it was a needed drisk for a 1st and short. IMHO, that play was Neufeld fault.
It was a good signing because the rumor are that Campbell won't be back until sometime into the season. Contrary to what TD says publicly.
UGGG, I just posted the same Prioleau released thread, I went bck 3 pages and didnt see it. I posted it and then the next minute this showed up on the top page. Ya now, I would have searched on his name if I could spell it right.

Over at BB.com he was perfectly clear about the teams ability to sign whomever they choose. That is 180 opposite from some of the comments made here by posters. His closing remarks make the point perfectly clear. ESPN, so called capologists (many fans), and many posters here (including myself) do not know SQUAT!
Here is his comment:
Patrick Freeman (Buffalo, NY): What about the Bills salary cap. Is this preventing you from signing other free agents, and will you have to release any more players, or renegotiate any more contracts to free up additional space. ESPN reporter the Bills are just $652,000 under the cap.
TD: There has been much information and misinformation about the salary cap. The salary cap is somewhat like the stock market in that an individual team's salary cap can change almost daily depending on the moves that you make. Our current cap situation would not prevent us from signing any player that we are interested in. We have the flexibility and the ability to create room when it is necessary. The most important thing that you try to do with the cap is to be flexible and manage the cap on a daily basis. May I also remind you that ESPN said last week that we were on the verge of signing Floyd Womack. The best advice we can give you is don't always believe what you read.
Dont believe what you read or hear, we can get the players we need but only if TD wants them and they are at the right price.

Of the poll options you listed, I would choose this one....
LT- Teague, LG- Draftee, C- FA, RG- Vill, RT Will
I posted a list of UFA centers yesterday and I would look for a 1 or a two year stop gap(Matt Lehr Dallas). I would draft a OG and OC with the picks in the 2nd(Bass) and 3rd(Wilkerson) round. I would let the rookie battle it out with Gandy and Tucker for LG.
OL starters
LT - Teague
LG - Bass
OC - Lehr
RG - Villarial
RT - Williams
OL Reserves
OG/OC - Tucker
OC - Wilkerson
OG/OT - Gandy
OT - Peters
OT - McFarland
Not alot of votes, but its interesting to see how split we all are. Or how many of us want different things.

Still want Shelton? That 3rd could be Jerome Mathis or maybe Mike Nugent (he will drop with his poor long kick showing at the combine).
-
Dan Buenning? We can do better than him with our 2nd rounder...there will be MUCH better options open to us. Buenning strikes me as a solid 4th round pick, due to his lack of athletic skills. Got a good head on him, but I think the Bills could land a player like Evan Mathis with the 2nd rounder, who also is versatile and can play tackle if needed.
But I like the sentiment, its easier to have a rookie guard start than it would be to have a rookie left tackle start *shudder*.
Yeah, G is the spot to start a rook, C would also be scary but not as scaRRy as LT!

I do'nt think we will ever replace Bruce. Kelsey and Schobel can produce some good pressure and get the occasional sack, but it seems as their job is to control the run first and contain the qb in the pocket and let the blitzer finish himoff. Jason Taylor is a fine de and he may flourish in a 34 defense much like Bryce Paup did. Jp no hard feelings about the numb nuts comment, i just think it's a crazy trade that will never happen. We will find a home for Travis , but I dont think we will get more than 3rd or 4th rounder
You probably right, the 3rd at best is most likely what happens. Too bad, this year was a TERRIBLE year to try to trade him.
We may never replace Smith, I just want to find SOMEONE who will put Peter Brady on his flamy little ars. It drives me nuts watching him have like 6 seconds to throw the ball.

Sorry Rich but you're wrong. If you read the board JP-era has now appointed himself mod and owner of this board. he makes the rules and he has stated this numerous times and if you don't like it, get out.

Nice try, the misdirection which seems to accuse me of something, has been "read" and tackled for a loss.
As for the newbie, your more than welocme here and will immediately garnish respect for your opinions, something you didnt manage to show me. Better luck next time.

Im interested to see where we all sit on this. State your pick and insert the players you want for trade/draftee/FA.

The similarity between Taylor and Bruce is alot closer than Schobel and Bruce.
And on the flip side, Schobel is actually a closer proximity to Hansen than Kelsay is, but not by much. Kelsay is more of a road grader type who overachieves.
Dont get me wrong, I love Schobel and dont want to lose him. I just dont agree that Schobel is ALL we need and I dont think we have replaced Bruce yet!

Can't believe this guy missed 33 games in 4 years.
Thats a big bust Id like to have! Ohh.....wait......
How about Brown for the league minimum?
How about Hovan for the same?

Lets end the uncertainy at left tackle; in a three way deal, Colts send RB Edgiren James to Arizona (where he signs his long term deal). Arizona gives the Colts LT Shelton, who ship him to Buffalo for Travis Henry. All three are currently under contract, and James is the only one who absolutely must have a new deal. This gives the cards their stud running back, and allows them to use their #1 pick for other needs. Henry a good fit with the Colts, and the Bills need a LT.
I would love it but it favors the Cards who get Edge and only give up Shelton. Indy is the biggest loser with trading Edge for Henry straight up.

Is it safe to say...

Appears to be the case. Apparently, we move forward by moving back?
It seems we are relying to heavily on JP's legs and pocket presence, his legs we can count on, his presence is something learned and it wont help to try to learn under constant pressure.
I dont understand the tactics at all.
Lets say we get Baas, OK now we have an upgrade at LG, we still dont have an upgrade at LT unless someone believes Teague or M Williams plays LT better than Jennings, I dont see THAT as being true.
Id would have preferred to stay put at LT and draft a LG or even downgrade at LG instead of the reverse. Thats SCARRY.
