  1. I agree re blind trust. Cry wolf, maybe. I think it was/is simply authority figures who don't have a clue about epidemiology being afraid of being wrong so they hid behind doctors (who also have no clue about epidemiology). Damn shame, the epidemiologists i know were pissed off the whole time as doctors were viewed as experts instead of the real experts. And of course we know anyone who dared speak out got the stick (my brother, an er doc, included). The problem is if we assume cry wolf then we end up like the story ie eaten by wolves ie *****. "it's all a conspiracy" isn't helping.
  2. Agreed. Very very unfortunate.
  3. according to those recommendations, no. although if it starts to become more prevalent and my doc is offering it i probably would even though the risk to me is supposedly low. i do find it interesting that i was just told here (not by you) that the problem is "we arent allowed to talk about the increased risk for gay men and mpox." yet here we have the cdc specifically addressing that? i dont understand why you think it is a good idea to preemptively call a disease outbreak a scam.
  4. I agree with you, proper messaging seems to elude our society at the moment and that's a shame. Happened with covid as well. However, imo "scamdemic, plandemic" is equally shameful. Maybe mpox will come and go and most people will be fine. Hope so. But it is inevitable that we will be hit by something in the future which makes that rhetoric really dumb. Maybe we won't live long enough to see it. But geez, you would think the lesson learned from covid could be better than "it's always a scam".
  5. Lol really this is still your angle? Jumping on the "end of democracy" train? 😄 When you are done rooting out the commies, come help us up north, Trudeau and his red coat mounties have thrown my friends in the gulag and i'm tired of lining up for bread n cheese. On second thought...nah. I'd quite happy with my price controlled rent which at the moment is the difference between living in a good home vs a 1 bd sh*thole. Oh the humanity!
  6. I mean...is the premise here that we should ignore deadly disease? If/when we are hit by something, which is inevitable, we are going to be well and truly *****. And i say that while agreeing that while Covid was quite terrible, our response was mostly terrible.
  7. screw induction! most of my cookware is copper and i don't think it would work with my wok which i use at least once a week.
  8. really too bad, he's one of my favourite Bills to watch play.
  9. I think it is good strategy. Slow roll everything in an attempt to keep the momentum. Drip drip drip. Why do anything before the convention which is a boost itself? Let the other side scream and accuse and then show everyone the screaming and accusing was all for nought. The right is silly to fall into this simple used-countless-times-before trap. The only possible way it helps them is if Harris never releases any policy which is highly unlikely imo.
  10. And the right is equally guilty, just a different set of crappy things and so called virtues. And i believe that's on purpose - divide and conquer.
  11. Yeah they are called Joshallenam Ever since that 4th and 1 vs Dallas my worries have disappeared.
  12. Sure sounds like some fun work. I haven't done much live sound compared to in studio. My live experience has been mostly in the classical world which seems to be a challenge for the regular audio guys as they have a very difficult time marrying acoustic and reinforced sound (in my experience). Anyways, compress the sibilant frequencies too much and you get that unfortunate sound lisp sound.
  13. strategically, she appears to have been correct.
  14. the slur sound very much like compression in the high frequencies (the "ess" sound). if he has a lisp then you would likely hear it with other consonants like "th" which we do not. i expect that next time we hear from trump he will sound like he normally does. turn that de-esser down! source: i work in audio
  15. My point is you are all here because you enjoy the fight. I didn't mean you exclusively.
  16. That is pretty damned clever. I think i will steal this idea for myself.
  17. But you do take your shots, knowing they will see them. Because it is fun.
  18. There's a reason: you love it. Nothing wrong with that, everyone should enjoy life. I find it strangely endearing.
  19. Come on. Admit it. You all love it. Americans love to fight! Especially with each other.
  20. I'm a little confused about the "it's AI!" strategy. If it were, in fact, fake, then fine. But there are now many separate videos showing this airport event with a crowd. Seems to me the opposite strategy would be better "let's show them what a huge crowd really is" and i think trump could do it successfully, too. Instead, this just makes you look bad and worse, something to laugh at.
  21. I think he's pretty 😍
  22. i concede that this evidence is much more convincing regarding genetics. i don't think im wrong to delay my judgment. certainly not wrong to condemn personal attacks on Khelif or any of the boxers.
