  1. Anybody know why we stand all game long for every game now?

The first time it ever happened was for the Oilers playoff game on 1/1/89. The stadium was insane for the whole game and nobody sat down.

I think it happened maybe at some playoff games after that, but it doesn't stick in my mind.

Then, it happened for the Dallas MNF crazy game in 2007. The energy that night was at least at playoff level.

Then, it happened a month or so later for the Pats game that got time switched to SNF. Except that the energy was soon gone after the Pats were destroying us. But, nobody sat down anyway, for some reason.

Now, it's every single game, all game long.

It used to mean something when the announcer would say "And, the crowd is on it's feet!"

It does seem like other teams are like this now, too (it used to be a big complaint about going to Raiders games - because of the crappy stadium, the people in the front rows had to stand, and therefore everybody behind them had to, too. People would not buy lower bowls who did not want to stand. It was well known)

    Anybody have a theory?

The stuff you people complain about . . . Smh.

Simple solution . . . don't go to the game.

  2. 2nd series on offense.....Kujo once again solid in pass protection.....buries a defender on a particular play.....the closest a defender gets to EJ is where he spin moves and goes low on the outside but ball is already out......this is one of those drives where EJ has a HORRID throw to Gragg that should have been a TD.....UGH! I have seen some throws by EJ so far in this review that are making me cringe.

I was in London. That short throw to Gragg was just the worst!!! When we settled for the FG on that drive I said to my friends "EJ owes us 4 points on that drive." Little did I know that EJ would load up his debts.

  3.

Here is my analysis from the painful re-watch of that game on NFL Game Pass

    FULL ANALYSIS - http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/182393-film-review-olineunforced-qb-errors-week-7-jags/

Here's my blurb from that analysis about Kouandjio below..

KOUANDJIOU PASSABLE - Kouandjio's performance was about the same as last week against the Bengals. He generally held up well and has looked better than Henderson looked before his injury. He was not without error however. He committed a false start and was also beaten once in Q2 causing EJ to be hit. Overall.. save for these 2 mistakes he was fairly solid. Not dominating.. but solid enough

    You clearly have an opinion.

  4. I would think winning would be more important than getting a players reps...that's what preseason is for.

Maybe they view Henderson and Kujo as equal in talent.....

I personally would rather see Kujo at RT

I'm not sure what you're seeing CK is a turnstile and false start machine.

Henderson has a few lapses each game but if you look at each play like an at Bat in baseball.

Henderson is batting .700 and CK is maybe 400. CK just consistently plays poor.

    Im sorry....no...just no

Kujo had some hickups when he was pressed into relief duty....but the last couple of weeks has been pretty solid

    Henderson

    - Gets beat OFTEN......which is troubling for a guy of his athletisism

    - Gets hurt EVERY GAME

    - Does not committ to punishing people in the run game.....he "gets in the way"

Interesting. CK looks like he is in a different snap count and clearly has lapses where he doesn't know his assignment. He looks blindsided on half the plays. That was the case in London. Just looked clueless most of the time when he wasn't getting flagged for false starts.
  5. It appears that Seantrel Henderson will be taking back his starting job at RT this week and CK will be back on the bench.

What does everyone think about that?

My opinion..... I think it's a poor choice. I just don't see why the coaches are so enamored with Henderson. I've watched a lot of all-22 on Henderson last year and this year and he seems to hold on by the seat of his pants in pass protect most of the time. Maybe I'm missing something.. maybe he's done well in run blocking??? I haven't analyzed that as closely??? For someone who has gotten so much hype from the previous and current coaching staffs.. I certainly haven't seen him dominate anyone yet. Take Cordy Glenn for example... 2 or 3 times a year he will have a game where he completely dominates his opponent and it clearly pops out on the game film. Haven't seen that from Henderson. He was brutally awful in the Titans game before he got hurt.. I'm talking epically awful.. like the worst performance I've seen from a Bills O Lineman in the last few years.. which is saying a lot considering Cyril Richardson, Erik Pears, Kraig Urbik and Chris Williams have had their share of doozies.

In my opinion Kouandjio .. while he hasn't been dominant by any means.. has clearly outperformed Henderson in the games he's played since Henderson has been out due to injury. Hopefully Kouandjio's play gives Henderson the kick in the ass he needs to start playing better... if not.. Henderson should be on a short leash.

I'm not sure what you're seeing CK is a turnstile and false start machine.

Henderson has a few lapses each game but if you look at each play like an at Bat in baseball.

Henderson is batting .700 and CK is maybe 400. CK just consistently plays poor.

  6. I am 34 and have been a Bills fan for 24 years. I live in California and have flown across the country to 3 Bills home games only to see them lose all of it. I've been through all the joys and tribulations since 1990.

The Jaguars game was the most disheartening game I have seen in 24 years.

The root cause of this game and this season has been DOUG WHALEY. He needs to go. He does not care about the team nor the fans. He is selfish and only cares about his ego. Don't we deserve much better as loyal fans?

I petition that during our next home game, we fans create "Fire Doug Whaley" signs and wave them in the stadium for the Pegulas to see.

I rarely post message like this, but I felt a strong conviction to do so, and I hope you as fans can relate.

LETS CREATE "FIRE DOUG WHALEY" SIGNS DURING OUR NEXT HOME GAME.

    Thoughts?

Has the lack of water damaged your thought process? That is definitely a sign of dehydration.

The GM fills the cabinets with players.

The coaches decide how to use the players.

The cabinets at One Bills drive haven't been this filled with talent, this century. With one exception - QB.

Now the on the field product that is on the coaches.

So we won't be waiving Fire Whaley signs against the Dolphins.

Next time maybe bounce the idea on shout wall before you go full bore with a post.

    smh

  7. @Andy_Benoit

#Bills Film: Don't say this lightly or with pleasure: Manuel was the reason they lost. Worst QB performance of this NFL season so far.

    not even close

    Again.

All those other plays are meaningless every game mistakes if EJ doesn't spot the Jags 25 points.

    Again

He spotted them 14. Defense allowed the rest

    Incorrect.

He missed a wide open receiver when he wasn't under pressure and the team had to settle for a FG instead a TD.

So The lowest possible number EJ spotted the Jags is 18.

That is a lot for one man.

  8. Not really, not to a direct effect of a loss. You take back any one of EJs multiple incompetent plays and the Bills get a W.

No single player screwed up so consistently and disastrously as EJ Manuel.

But we were ahead after that.

I would also add that McCoy's fumble was as big as at least one of EJ's fumbles. And whoever was supposed to be covering that dude that caught the go ahead TD sure didn't do us any favors. And who calls a roll out to the left pass on 4th and 1? Really?

Like I said, EJ screwed the pooch, but he also had a LOT of help.

    Again.

All those other plays are meaningless every game mistakes if EJ doesn't spot the Jags 25 points.

  9. I'm fine with EJ. Yes, I said it. He **** the bed for 5 minutes last week, but also had us in a position to win. I certainly trust him more than Johnson or some guy off the street.

Why would you trust EJ more than anyone?

    Makes zero sense.

With EJ you know you have a QB that can't hack it in the NFL.

With Josh Johnson or some dude off the street you might get something different.

    What is Thad Lewis doing?

  10. Mods, I'm guessing this question is answered in the depths of this board. I searched. Promise.

I live in Virginia Beach. I pay $350 for Sunday Ticket, streaming. I do not have cable. I stream Sunday Ticket through the interwebs.

I think I know the answer to this question, but here goes:

This is the first Bills game this year that will be "nationally" televised in my area.

Here's my question: since the game is on CBS in my area (which again, I don't have cable and even with my over-the-air antenna I only get ABC) I won't be able to watch it on Sunday Ticket, correct?

1.) No you will not get the game if the game is local to your billing zip code.

2.) Why are you paying $350?

Directv charges $199 for streaming only.

3.) Go to Radio Shack and get an over the air HD antennae.

The game will come in crystal clear.

  11. ESPN and nfl.com confirming that EJ will start

    ‏@AlbertBreer

Bills' plan all week has been to start EJ Manuel at QB. He got the great majority of first-team reps, expectation is Manuel will be the guy.

    @BobHoltzmanESPN

Sources: EJ Manuel expected to start for @buffalobills tomorrow vs Bengals. Tyrod Taylor (knee) tried to convince coaches, but not ready.

I don't believe Nationals when it comes to the Bills.

The local guys have been mum on the subject.

It doesn't add up to me.

    Not yet.

  12. I've never been a Johnny Manziel fan because I think he stinks as a QB, but we should wait for the facts to come out here. If he only had 2 drinks and didn't get a DUI, maybe he wasn't in the wrong. Sometimes, drunk chicks be crazy.

Coming out of offseason rehab for alcohol, it's two drinks too many.

    Take a mutha!@#$ing Uber/Cab/Car Service.

Then you can argue with your B word in the backseat while drinking or !@#$ing or doing anything else you would like.

I take an Uber when I know I'll be drinking. It pisses me off when these high profile nimrods can't do the same.

The Bills owner showed up at the Titans-Bills game on Sunday with a flip phone.

Why does the writer assume he has only one? Maybe he just used the one with best reception.

Who is the official cell phone sponsor on Buffalo Bills anyways?

That is not a flip phone. That is clearly a Billionaire Illuminati device that is used to control weather.

    burner

Let's say you were a Billionaire fracker working deals while Oil prices are low and buying up stuff when it was cheap and you needed to have conversations with people in places and you didn't want any easy way of others finding out. Wouldn't it be nice if you had a phone that had no cloud backup and record of everything you did?

I wonder if they make anything like that?

Uncle Terry knows what he is doing folks.

  14. http://bills.buffalonews.com/2015/10/15/sammy-watkins-speaks-up-when-i-get-one-on-one-just-target-me/

    Quote:

“Everybody looks at you getting zero catches, zero yards but when you look on film 90 percent of the time you’re open,” Watkins said. “I understand that these guys are young and they need some time to trust me. Once we get that trust, it’ll be different. But for me, I need the ball at least 10 times — I need 10 targets — and I’ll be fine with however many yards I get. And that’s what I addressed in talking with my agent. We reached out to a couple people and tried to pull some strings like, ‘Hey, I need my targets. You came up to draft me and I’m not getting targets — that’s a problem. You’re making me look bad and you’re making yourself look bad. Why not make both of us look good?’”

“You really just put it on film," Watkins said, "and go to the coach like, ‘Hey, I’m getting open. What’s the deal here?’ Don’t be an (expletive) about it, just go talk to him about the situation. I see the bigger picture. I enjoy spreading the ball around. It makes my job easier. But at the same time, for a guy you go up in the draft to take as your No. 1 receiver, you would love those 15 targets that Julio gets, those 20 targets that Odell gets. Of course I’d have 100 yards every game and a TD, if I’m getting 20 targets."

    UPDATE: Sammy responds...

@sammywatkins: @TyDunne Wish you could have added the part we have so many playmakers and me not caring about numbers I care about winning.. Grow up.. Sir.

    TLDR:

Sammy Watkins "Just throw me the damn ball!"

Plus Sammy asked his agent to ask Whaley to tell his coaches to tell the QBs to Just throw him the damn ball!

  15. This makes way more sense.

McKelvin struggles at finding the ball in the air. He never looks up at the Ball. This is not a good trait for a safety.

McKelvin isn't a fierce tackler. He isn't that big or strong. He is closer to looking like Chris Rock than a LB. I don't think he would be effective to clean up completions and tackler the receiver.

So basically I doubt this happens because it doesn't seem like a good fit at all.

Robey is a better fit at safety if needed and McKelvin can get in the field at Nickle back. If you say McKelvin isn't big enough at 5'10" 185, how is Robey big enough at 5'8" 165?

185 seems very generous. Especially from his current non participant pictures. I doubt he is anywhere near 185 today.
