Oklahoma has killed themselves. USC is a good team, but when you turn the ball over 4 times in a half and 3 of them are right down inside your own 30 you are asking for trouble and that's what they are getting.
Imagine how scary this USC team would be with MIKE WILLIAMS being eligable?
My point is that John Elway was good enough to get his team to the Super Bowl 3 times almost single handedly, Bledsoe couldn't carry this team on his back to the playoffs even.
By this time in Elways career he had been to 3 Super Bowls, 4 AFC title games, won an NFL MVP award, and could be counted on in the clutch.
Drew is 28-68 as a starter against winning teams.
There is no comparison.
I know you are Rick James and all, but come on, Drew is NO John Elway.
John Elway could always pick up a blitz and made good decisions.
Drew does neither.
For the most part that is true, but in the games that I mentioned I guarantee y ou find a big gap in TOP.
The offense couldn't stay on the field in any of those games that I mentioned.
The Bills sustained 3 drives the entire game. The first touchdown drive, the drive before the half, and the drive that Lindell missed the field goal. Almost every drive other than that we were 3 and out.
When you can't rest it's tough to perform in the 4th quarter when you are drained physically and mentally.
It's as simple as this. Drew Bledsoe is 28-68 against winning teams and 3-4 in the playoffs.
40 GAMES UNDER .500 PEOPLE!!!!
He can't win the big game, and a lot of the time we are lucky if he wins the easy game.
Every game that they failed (Jets, Steelers, Patriots) was a direct result of an inept offense with poor quarterback play.
Go look at the time of posession for each of those games. It's tough to expect a defense to stop a crucial drive when they have been out there the entire game because the offense didn't move the ball or kept turning it over.
It really has nothing to do with the Cardinals, in fact I listed the Mulder trade above as the same situation. The A's dumping Mulder and Hudson for unproven players is just as bad as this junk deal.
The Diamondbacks were trying to unload his salary. It had nothing to do with his talent, because Javier Vasquez at age 28 or whatever isn't even in the same league as Randy Johnson at 41 or 42.
Any Yankees fan that tries to spin this as a fair trade has no merit whatsoever.
I hate seeing the package change on third and long. The first and second down people are much more effective. This is one reason for Sam Adams outburst early in the year.
