  1. I agree UConn. I was walking my Shih Tsu with my 6 year old twin daughters on a leash down our street, when a lady about 55 years old is walking a pit bull. As dogs do, they sniff butts and do their thing. Well this monster went insane and chomped on my dogs head, causing his eye to pop out. I had to jump in the middle and break it up. The pit bull's owner was worthless as this beast was out of control. Well, to make a long story short, my dog lost his eye, my girls were freaking out, and the lady's husband had the audacity to say it was a dog fight and would only pay half the medical bills. I didn't have the energy to fight him, as he is quite prominent.

The town and Animal control were worthless, due to a lack of laws on the books.

There needs to be some restrictive licensing of these bully breeds. It is out of control.

Btw, I live in an upper middle class neighborhood, so this isn't a socio-economic issue.

  2. Not to be a party-pooper, but isn't this a classic example of why companies and people leave NYS?

A $375,000,000 building? To be paid for by NYS taxpayers? Seriously?

Couldn't a $200,000,000 building - or even a $100,000,000 building, for that matter - serve the same purpose?

Also, it's pretty telling that, the same week that they announce this new new biomedical building, a Buffalo biomedical company (Greatbatch) announces its corporate headquarters move away from Buffalo?

I guess this building is all fine and dandy, but I think that NYS' financial priorities are a little out of order.

A ton of this money is coming from endowments, and donations. Plus the added tuition costs. So I guess you suggest that UB doesn't become an economic powerhouse and try to keep up with the likes of major state universities.

If there is one thing our tax dollars should go to is this medical campus, which brings high paying jobs, intellectual capital, and off shoot economic endeavors.

However, we can can continue to do nothing.

Real backward response on your behalf.

  3. I got the large with nest and place setter. Grilling 2 inch steaks at high temps is amazing. The heat that this thing generates is awesome.

Other than that I agree with the other posts that smoking and slow cooking is the best.

    Place setter is a must.

  4. I know this has been posted before, but I just picked a large unit up two weeks ago, and I can say the best grilling investment ever!

Just needed to plug this little wonder of deliciousness again!

  5. I was thinking that as well, I was expecting the vast majority of people here to live in or around the Buffalo area. I guess in Buffalo there are plenty of people to talk to about the Bills... But us outsiders need to come here for our football fix. Just my theory.

No, just not posting. Boring for me to say Buffalo.

Have i mentioned how i love living here? Between the food, beer and music....i am in my happy place....

Awesome. Sounds like I need to hit Philly up soon. I have never been that impressed in my trips, something about Pennsylvania just seems off.

Looks like he lost quite a bit of weight judging by his recent photo.

    PTR

I recently had lunch at Tao in Orchard Park and Jasper came in with a couple friends. He sat next to me at the bar, and he is a great guy. He definitely lost some weight. He is a VERY THICK man. Rooting for him as he is all class.

Speaking of payroll , got a letter from G E telling me what my rate of pay is straight time and over time have to sign it and send it back to them. Some new law in NY state that they have to tell you what you get paid

Yep, that is called the wage theft prevention act. I work for patches, so we are making sure all of our clients are aware of thus legislation in NY, because we can foresee the department of labor doing some auditing of personnel files this year. Fine is pretty steep too.

  9. Rough couple of games? Without the the Ints in earlier games, we'd have more losses, 3 at least. The yardage the Bills give up and TOP is totally unacceptable.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that the Defense has sucked, but I don't think it makes sense to make a move right now. We still have have some games to play, and we are still in the hunt. Changing the DC would be silly.

  10. Sadly, who takes his place? Wanny? Wanny I'm sure has had his input, and maybe even some play calling as well and the results speak for themselves. Yet, a statement needs to be made to the defense that what they have done is unacceptable.

I don't think its time to change the DC right now. Edwards really sucks, but we still have some games left where we can make a move. Its been a couple rough games, lets see if they can get their crap together next week in Miami.

After the season is over, we definitely need to evaluate the defensive coaching staff and the lack of talent.

  11. Just to clarify, I don't prefer a dome myself, but I think in this weather climate one is needed to justify the cost. Albany would never pony up $1 billion + for a stadium with single digit usage days per year. A dome would allow for many more events and a retractable roof might be the way to go for football.

The idea is to find real, tangible ways to keep the team in WNY. The $100 million renovation figure is the MINIMUM that the NFL would require to even consider keeping the team here.

Niagara Falls gets shafted by NY State annually. All of the millions collected at the Niagara Falls State Park go to Albany and never return. Casino dolllars - same thing. Hydro power dollars - they leave too and people here pay some of the higest rates in the nation for electricity.

Leveraging that is a way to hold Albany's feet to the fire. Isn't about time that the capital did soemthing for WNY beyond lip service?

Quit electing phonies and con artists... The Buffalo Bills belong in the area we define ourselves with. Not Toronto, not Niagara Falls. The Buffalo Region!

Doesn't matter what they put in DT buffalo. It will never be host to anything of national or international importance, including a super bowl.

The objections to a dome in NF are all pretty lame and just smack of some lazy ass not wanting to drive the extra 15 minutes, too cheap to drink anything but a 6 of genny cream pee water. Ie the exact type of fan the NFL doesn't see in its future.

Truth is NFL has gotten more family and corporate oriented, and with an international agenda, none of which work in an outdoor space on the outskirts of an acknowledged dying cold Weather city. Sure NF has similar problems but unlike buffalo it has an internationally renowned tourist attraction that will never be taken away. Along with the canadian side it is well suited to accomodate large number of visitors with accommodations and attractions, attracting families and businesses alike, and access to a constant stream of international visitors.

I wouldn't waste another dime on the Ralph.

Let's get with the future and build a dome near the Falls, putting the bills on top of the nfl economic food chain rather than groveling along the bottom in constant fear of getting eaten by bigger fish

Really??? Infrastructure, plus Niagara county is a real small(1/4 the population of Erie county), economically weak area with major corruption. Good luck.

Bills are fine at the Ralph! Tradition is huge now. These kids need it. Stand up for our community!

  12. I'm such a debbie downer. I'm so conditioned to expect defeat and disappointment. I felt pretty good about WAS, but this game against the Jets will be a tough game. I honestly think it's 50/50 right now. The Jets are a talented and they have played better in recent weeks. Sanchez (and it kills me to say this) is playing a lot better and actually looks like a middle tier QB in his past few games. You could argue they played a weak MIA team and a Norv Turner coached SD team, but a win is a win and you know that Rex will have them fired up coming off of the bye.

The thing that scares me most about this game is how opportunistic (lucky) the Jets are. We all know that Fitzy will probably throw in INT or two and against a team like the Jets (who know is VERY well) that can be a back breaker as it will likely be a close game. Sanchez can be clutch, but doesn't scare me nearly as much as Revis and Fitzy propensity to throw killer INT's.

I bolded the major issue in this game.
