  1. I was there. I think our season tickets were in section B-26, about 20 rows up at like the 15 yard line on the Bills side. We decided to stay through the half, but that interception return for a touchdown was serious gut check time. My brother and I decided to stay for one more possession and the rest is history. Amazing game!

  2. My take...

People are remembering the Stevie that had a hell of a great connection with Fitz. Those two connected well. With EJ, that connection wasn't there, in my opinion. I wonder if SJ requires a certain type of connection with his QB that doesn't fit EJ's game. He is a "draw it in the sand" type of receiver, that can be tough for certain systems.

After reading the reports from this off-season, I was shocked that SJ wasn't working with EJ. I don't thing they mesh well, and Whaley and Marrone recognized it and got some value, and added younger players that can grow with him.

I love the Watkins trade, he is a stud. We completely upgraded at receiver no doubt.

Good luck SJ, it was fun, but without Fitz, I think you are very average.

  3. Bills will trade up and grab Sammy Watkins. Kid is a stud and a leader. We need an identity. We can go strong in free agency next year to fill some holes. Enough with the 2nd run guys. Make a move for the best player at his position in this draft and be done with it.

  4. Holy ****! People are real ignorant how big business works in WNY. This has nothing to do with tax dollars! It's already budgeted money that is being spent in Buffalo vs other areas of the state! This is good news in a state that has neglected WNY for too long.

Man, I love this town, but I think the old mentality in this town needs to wake up, or just move.

  5. I think that group is putting in a bid and will bid on any and all teams that come up for sale. I don't believe they will get the Bills, but they are throwing their hats into the ring to let other potential sellers to know that they are serious players.

  6. Well I found this blurp from the official website/announcement of his passing:

"Right now all of us are absorbing this tremendous personal loss. We are performing our day-to-day functions as we normally would. We understand our fans curiosity in wanting to know what the future holds for our organization and that will be addressed in the near future. But at this time, we are committed to honoring the life and legacy of Ralph C. Wilson, Jr., the man who delivered NFL football to Buffalo."

I guess I take that as in there is some sort of plan in place which I hope is good news, but honestly right now I'm still sad at the passing of Mr Wilson... he has brought so much to Buffalo and all of WNY... my entire life as a sports fan has been dominated by the fact that he brought AND KEPT the Bills here. Win or lose, I still have NFL football to be passionate about and I owe it all to him, his family and the passion to keep the Bills here. I'm praying the Bills remain in the only city they should ever call home.

I took this loss a lot harder than I thought.

McD, I am with you. Wilson loved this community and was a great man. He championed some great years for me during my prime. Early 80's as a kid, and 86-99 as a young adult. It was awesome! I will miss you Ralph.

  7. we have 4 fellows who could staff the guard postion if i guess right.

2 are right sized and no experience to speak of . two have some Bills exp and are not the right size.

I have concerns. and we dont have Joe D anymore whom i considered top notch.

    not sure

Isn't it funny how Joe D was a complete unknown and now is considered top notch coach. He was hired as a crony of Gailey. Hmmmm.

So, we need a new left guard. Big deal. The offseason just started. 2/5's of our line came as unheralded moves.

What this team needs is playmakers!!! This is a new NFL!

  8. Hairston will be moving over with Pears back....problem solved. Hairston at guard will be all pro level - remember I said that

Don't even consider thinking outside the box! This is Buffalo. Everything we do is inferior!

Anyway, I mentioned this today to some friends at the bar, and they thought I was smoking crack. I think it is quite reasonable.

For what its worth, I think our Oline is the least of our worries.

  9.

Actually, almost 80% of all Americans got a federal tax increase.

From the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center in Washington via the Washington Times:

    - 77.1 percent of all wage earners saw a tax increase.

    - More than 80 percent of households with incomes between $50,000 and $200,000 now pay higher taxes.

    - Among the households facing higher taxes, the average increase would be $1,635

    - The tax burden will rise more for someone making $30,000 a year (1.7 percent) than it does for someone earning $500,000 annually (1.3 percent).

This isn't due to a tax increase, it's because they let the 2% payroll credit on social security lapse. You should actually thank Obama for the increased revenue over the past few years.

  10. You know what is crazy about this thread... about 95% of the people commenting don't follow PAC 12 football. Kelly does more with less than USC, UCLA, UA, A State, Stanford, Cal, etc. He is an amazing coach that takes advantage of his talent. In my opinion, perfect guy for Buffalo. He is a winner, with something to prove! That is what we need. Get a young guy that wants to create a legacy. No to retreads!!!

  11. This goes beyond just T.J. Graham. I was very curious, as well, when before the game I heard Stevie Johnson was practically limping, and questionable - and then I hear we didn't even dress T.J. Graham! So, on a team with a very weak WR corps, which only kept 6 WR's, going into a game with an admittedly injured WR, and doesn't dress a 3rd round pick? I ask you - why are we making these picks at all, if we aren't going to use them? Russel Wilson would have looked nice out there today, IMO.

This goes back, in a way, for me, all the way to last year. Fitz gets "hurt" in the Redskins game (although he was never on the injury report). That was the admitted excuse for his total switch in play from one half to the other last year. So, Fitz is hurt so much that it makes him play terrible. Isn't that what a backup QB is for? Why do we have a backup QB, taking up roster space and salary cap, if we aren't going to use him?

The connection here between the two is this: if the right talent level was there at these positions, we'd have the situation where when a player gets hurt, another player with promise goes in and picks up, instead of the whole team suffering due to one players injury. Don't bring these guys in if they aren't good enough to play!

Russel Wilson played like a 3rd round rookie QB yesterday. Like crap.

  12. TJack may not ever be starting material, but given the recent history of Thiggy, VY, and TJack... TJack is clearly the best QB of the 3. Whatever happened to Vince is unfortunate, because he was really good, and you can still see shades of it and that was frustrating (the zip he has on the ball, his strength, his speed, etc.) Whatever happened to this guy, it appears he's just checked out and doesn't plan on checking back in.

With regard to Fitz, we should keep in mind that last preseason the starting offense put up 3 points against Chicago, 3 points against Denver, 17 against Jax, and the few starters that were in against Detroit (I don't believe Fitz took a single snap in that game) put up 0. The tone around here was very much the same as it is right now, and we saw an explosive offense come out of the gate once the regular season started. I would've loved to have seen Fitz and the offense play much better in the preseason, but I truly don't believe we will know anything about this unit until Sept. 9th.

Getting T-Jack, however, is yet another net improvement for this team. A clear upgrade at backup.

Shhhh.... Speaking too much sense for the whiners. It's preseason folks.
