  1. I think he is saying that while Drew might not be the QB to lead the Bills to the playoffs is JP that much better to upgrade the Bills from 9-7 to the playoffs. We know what Drew can and can not do but we do not know anything about what JP can do in the heat of battle.

  2. You can not compare Packers, Steelers and 49ers. those teams played without free agency or with just Plan b free agency. How many titles would they have won if the had a salary cap and free agency to deal with. One maybe 2 but no more. Free agency would have torn those teams apart. High profile agents and players with large egos and web sites would have bolted both places had they the chance. remember the Steelers of the 70s were the best dynasty in football but the also had one of the most frugal owners in the NFL and were is lowest paid. I think only the Cowboys can be compared to the Pats because of the salary cap and free agency. The cowboys were the better team.

The Pats of the 2001/2003 and 2004 Superbowl years were the best teams ever if this is how you define teams

Were they the most talented team ever, of course not be if you define team by being a group of players that played up to or above their talent level then the 2001 Pats have to be that team. They upset the Rams in what has to be the 2nd greatest upsets in NFL history. That team played far above their talent level. People talk about the tuck rule but forget that the Steelers went to the SB on Franco Harris's immaclulate reception.

If you define the team concept as players that are willing to go beyond their egos and play above expectations after losing a number of starters to injuries then the 2004 Pats have to be that team

because of salary cap and FA the Pats have to be compared to teams in the future not any in the past In my opinion, with the drive for NFL parity, I do not think we will be seeing the SB teams winning by dormanating an opponent like we saw in the past. I think you will see that teams will find it hard to just go back to the SB

Look at the 49ers under Young, they had winning seasons but only got to the SB once

those teams were very talentd but lost players and coaches.

There is no doubt that the Pats will suffer with the loss of OC and DC coaches. Like other winning teams, they will eventully lose palyers to FA. It will be very hard for them to repeat this year, everything has to come to and end. But they also will strive to be competive and have a good chance to go to the playoffs for a number of years. this is what all teams want

  3. Milloy had a big contract but was not living up to it. This is why BB asked for him to restructure. he decieded not to so he was cut. it was not that they did not want to pay it

Ty law a a big contract but NE paid him because he was playing up to it, The problem this year is Ty Law wanted to redo it with a 20 mil bonus and the Pats said no

Like I said before not every player in the Pats locker room was sad to see him cut. Surprised yes but not sad..

  4. In the salary cap era, you have to be amazed at what they have done. IIt is not like the 60s, 70s 80s and early 90s when you could keep your team together. Now if you win a SB everyone wants the big money and there goes your cap, just ask the Ravens

They won one and have never been back after they were forced to dump players ar not be able to resign them. Look at NE 2001 team then the 2003 now the 2004 team. just check the rosters and see how many player have lefted. I just can not figure out how they can have so many player turn overs and injuries and still win. I want MM to study this and somehow copy the blueprint if possible.

  5. One of the reasons that NE had a bad 2002 season was Milloy dogged it for most of the year. After the SB he was not the same player. second there were some players who did not mind him gone because it was becoming more about his goals than team

he did not leave the team by choice he was cut. NE decied he was costing more than his play deserved. I wondered what money Nate will want after his contract is up after talking to Milloy. What about Pat and JJ this year. What kind of money do they now want after talking to Milloy. Moulds is volunterring to restructure and here's Milloy saying get all the money you can . I do not see Milloy restructuring to help the team

With guys like Milloy and Law, is is all about the money because their agents are the Poston brothers. Get it all and screw the team thing is their motto

Milloy says he hates to lose but it is OK as long as I make the most money.

Maybe we should be more gratefull to Moulds and more critical to Milloy

I do not fault Milloy leaving for more money, that was his option in not restructuring his contract to help the team with cap space. he got what he wanted , a nice fat contract but he should just keep quiet and play winning football and help the Bills win the SB.

  6. Yes , several teams wanted to draft JP but not in the 1st round. Do not believe what GMs say until they do it. Sometimes it is a smokescreen for you to do exactly what the Bills did and then get another player that they wanted.

We will not get a first for JP this year. What did he do this year that showed the other GMs that he would be worth a number one? Plus we gave up a second and fifth to be able to swap number one positions. JP will have to play here. he will have to show if he is or is not the QB of the future.
