My God man, get off his pole. Our obvious problems are the lines. Our secondary sucks but it all begins with the lines.

Well, today I stayed home from school because I got my heart ripped out by my Mets, so I thought showing off my Marv Levy skills to you guys would cheer me up.
Without furter ado, here are your Super Bowl 42 champs!
Re-signings- Mike Gandy... F-off, Nate Clements... Adios! Andre Davis... Siyanora! Regign London Fletcher.
Free Agency-
1. Floyd Womack- I remember the Bills were very interested in this guy and he could come in immediately and compete for a starting guard spot.
2. Dwight Freeney- Call me crazy, but I can very well see him signing with the Bills. He went to Syracuse, is from Connecticut, and the Bills would die to have a great DE like him.

Super Bowl 42 here we come!!
I appreciate the thoughts, but that team looks worse than this years. WR core and TE's worry me. D-line is weak (for now at least) and only one upgrade on the o-line. Also, the cb's don't look too strong. Week-by-week this team is showing me they have more holes than many originally forecasted.

A few days ago a buddy of myne asked me whether the Bills ever tried McGee out as a wide receiver. I told him I did not know and basically didnt care. Then today I was reading an article on NFL.com in a little paragraph about how Steve Smith started his career as a pro-bowl kickoff/punt returner. Mid way through the article it says this
Their bodies are pretty much identical.
Steve Smith - 5'9, 185 pounds
Terrence McGee - 5'9, 195 pounds
Their is only a 1 year age difference (Smith is older). What if we gave McGee a shot at receiver ... just a thought. What do you think?
Why not. Jeez at this point I wouldn't care if moorman ran a streak once a game.

Those guys are brutal. I just love the fact that we have 2 major sports teams and ONE sports radio station, friggin monopoly. Bring back WNSA and the old school howard simon.
-
That's a good point and we haven't seen an effective tight end here since the metzelars/ somewhat reimersma days. Is it the quarterback, the offensive scheme, or the lack of quality te's??

I was wondering how many posts it would take until someone posted crap like this. You're such a "true fan" cause you had the game on your tv just a little longer than I did. Get bent, cause if you can sit there and accept losing after losing season, you might need to look at yourself. This "true fan" bullcrap is for people who are afraid to take a look and see what this team is and what it has been for awhile now. I am a fan that is facing the reality of the situation and voicing my displeasure, so spare me the ignorance. I, like many, will be back at 1:00 pm next Sunday with renewed optimism and right back watching. The best metaphor I can think of is that the Bills, for all of us, are like a dose of crack each week. Us fans are the crack whore always returning for another hit and leaving with a black-eye. I apologize for the graphic nature of my metaphor, but it seemed fitting. After 5 hours of cleaning up absolute tree destruction this morning, the one thing I could not wait for was 1:00. Its just tiring andgetting very stale. We as a city cannot even rally around the Bills, especially after this disaster. I just thank God for the sabres.
good stuff.

Think about this though. A lot of these CB's INT's are coming off of easy tips that they catch. Their not all great INT's. Their just lucky.
Chris McAlister only has 3 INT's in his last 21 games.
Shawn Springs use to be considered one of the best CB's in the game and he has 1 INT in the past 15 games.
Patrick Surtain only has 1 INT in his last 49 games
Samari Rolle only has 3 INT in his last 32 games
Why didnt we make a play for Ty Law in the off-season? Heck why did the Jets let him go? He had 10 INT's last year and 2 INT's in 5 games this year ..
Surtain: 4 int last 19 games
McAlister: 3 int last 19 games
rolle: 2 int last 21 games
springs: 6 int last 30 games
Check your sources.

They were just reporting on Sunday Sports Final on Channel 7 that there are some strong negotions going on between the Bills and Buccaneers that would send Nate Clements to Tampa Bay in return for Anthony McFarland.
I have not looked for a link yet, but John Murphy and Vic Carucci just reported it around 12 AM on the Sunday Sports Final.
That would be a good trade for both teams if it happened, I believe. We would get much needed size in the middle and Clements would help TB.
They did say that the contact for Nate could be a hold up as he wants BIG money (that he doesn't deserve), of course, so we will have to see what happens. Trade deadline is Tuesday so it would have to happen soon.
We won't have long to find out, I guess!
I don't know much about mcfarland but he's listed at 6' 300 lbs, where anderson is at 305 and tripplett is at 295. No increase in size. Give me 6'2'' 325 + and then we'll talk.

i'm not saying that rooting for the sabres instead of the bills is more noble or vice versa, but anyone who thinks that hockey is anything more than a cult sport or that that the sabres are 1/10th as popular as the bills in the greater western ny area is kidding themselves. the bills are king, and it's too bad that they suck at present. that said, they're still king in WNY, and by a long ways.
I don't know man, 14,000 season tickets sold this year. I don't know if that's ever happened before (at least since the aud days). I don't think the bills will even sell out every game this year. If the sabres had the drinking fest that the bills have, I think you'd see a different perspective.
-
No offense man but for someone who continually calls out others for "stupidity" this is hypocrisy. One interception can change a game. As a top corner, you're expected to make turnovers- clements hasn't done this in a while. Tipping a ball and catching it are 2 very different things.
-
I found myself so disinterested in this team today. i was more into my fantasy football team than the bills today, and that never happens. Its just all crap and this team is showing zero signs of progression. Its been like this for years and it has become very tiring. I think the city, as a whole, has lost the connection with this team like it had through the early to mid 90's.
Thank God for the sabres. This is a team that all teams should be modeled after. A team that the city can get behind.
The winds of change are upon us, and right now Buffalo is turning into a hockey first city and rightfully so.
I'd have to say that buffalo turned into a hockey-first city after the 99 cup run. Bottom line, winning brings fans and interest and the sabres have provided that, not the bills in the past 10 years. Regardless, I will continue to support the bills until they leave.

I can't believe you people want to sit here and talk about clements like he had an awful game. McGee cost us that game. The Lions offensive strategy was simple to throw to whoever McGee was (or wasn't is more accurate) covering. He has just been plain horrible and any o-coordinator watching any game film on the bills this year will continue to relentlessly challenge McGee until he shows he can cover anyone. That was just embarrassing. I actually thought they might pull him from the game....or so i hoped.
And where was the coaching adjustment to help cover up that problem? Good lord, do something as coaches.
I made the thread "our franchise cornerback" not so much on the basis of today's game but an accumulation of the past few years. Mcgee was awful today, got worked big time. The whole defense was fortunate to only give up 20.

OK, so when I made this thread, I was wondering why mcgee was covering roy willliams and not clements. The logical answer is that the coaches feel mcgee is better suited to cover him (which he sucked but who knows how clements would have done).
Bottom line, the guy is our highest paid player and has had something like 2 picks in 22 games. That is ridiculous. It's not enough for a "#1 corner" to just "cover guys" well. He needs to pick some balls or force some fumbles. I think we can all agree that turnovers are often what wins games, and our franchise cornerback contributes nothing to that.

They played like crap all half and they're only down 7 points. If they play like they can, they should win this game.
