  1. of course, they all have legit passing threats to open up the lanes too. That's why the Cowboys didn't pony up for Murray...

That's fair. I'll just never be able to justify paying top dollar for a rb. They also could've drafted a RB in the second round and plugged him in like a handful of teams do each year. I get there's no QBs out there, but I'd rather spend shady money to make a great o-line. I understand they went after some guys in FA, but without the McCoy investment they would've had the cash to land them I bet.

  2. the more i look at the future we face regarding cuts etc, the more the mccoy trade looks like a horrible move, not due to talent or ability etc, but from a roster and financial standpoint.

    1. after we complained for years about our tackle position, as well as our corners, looks like we will have to cut either glenn or gilmore. ok maybe its mckelvin or maybe its bradham after already losing kiko, or cutting fred early or shudder maybe even Mario.

    2. We traded a low-cost fan favorite linebacker for a 16 milllion dollar RB right before we have to resign 4 starters. And didnt we try the premier running back route for the last 15 years? How far did we get with Antowain, Mcgahee, Lynch or Spiller??? the most productive runner we had was 2nd rounder travis henry anyway. So now instead of drafting RB in the first, we trade a 2nd, and will lose one of our 1sts (gilmore dareus or glenn) next year, all for the joy of having a top tier running back in his 6th year.

    3. We finally have 5 high talent receiving options, both tackles solidified, and weak guards, so we decide on a run first offense? things got worse not better when we spent a 5th on carlos williams. this would have worked out fine if we hadnt gotten shady. But now it forces a cut of either fred or brown and if its brown, it means we wasted a 4rth and will never know what brown could have done here. If its fred, we lose fred, nuff said.

we overstocked at a position we really didnt need and by next year,in the end it will end up costing us a 1st, 2nd, and 4rth round pick.

    the combination will be either...

    Kiko, fred, & gilmore or....

    kiko, brown, & glenn

    or possibly even a....

kiko, mckelvin, bradham and Fred combination

or maybe we just lose Mario

either way, it was a bad move.

    Go Bills!

I agree with you. While it seems like a good trade right now, the long-term implications will prove this trade to be a bad move. We will see a good player walk that could impact this team for significantly longer term than McCoy will. If the Bills don't make the playoffs this year, the trade for McCoy will look even worse.

Running backs are easy to come by, good offensive linemen and corners are not and we will lose one because of McCoy. Also, McCoy is a proven running back in an entirely different scheme with a significantly better o-line, so there's question marks there as well. Time will tell, and I hope I'm wrong but a couple years from now I think we regret the McCoy trade.

  3. While this article has valid points, it doesn't mention that the population in Buffalo has stabilized and is anticipating modest growth in the next few years. I could go on about why this will happen, but that's information you can find anywhere, start with www.buffalorising.com.

I find it interesting that many replying to this post tend to justify their move out of Buffalo without being challenged or questioned on the decision. If you made the move and it's worked out for you, that's great to hear and you should be happy about your decision.

Just don't let an article from a traditionalist writer cloud your judgement that Buffalo is indeed coming back, buffalo bills or not.

  4. Coincidence? I think not. He was horrible prior to his injury and I mean horrrrrible. Might be too young to cut him but no reason for him to regain starting job if he returns.

I will say that Gilmore and Mario have improved but the big play that Aaron Williams continually gave up has been minimized. Unfortunately, we're looking at yet another high draft pick spent on a CB next year as Buddy has missed again.

  5. If people are looking for a flawless, mistake free game out of the QB, then you're probably not going to find it. Look around the league, even the best QBs throw picks, fumble etc. He made one costly mistake today, whereas the defense was a mess when they stepped on the field right until the end.

Check that 2 mistakes. I really never thought I'd ever be defending Fitzpatrick lol!

  6. i am a fitz supporter, but i actually think that this game really did come down to fitz. he played really well for most of the game, but when it mattered most he was at his worst. i really wanted this to be the game that got his confidence back and got the fans and media to get off his back a little bit, but, i think he is in for a rough couple weeks. having said that, i still support him.

I disagree. Naturally, everyone is talking about the pick because it happened late in the game. If he threw that pick in the 1st quarter, no one would be talking about it. I understand that's not how it goes, and it was extremely untimely, but he put his team in position to win this game.

It was the defense that got torched on the ground, beat when it mattered in the air, and was just all around embarrassing.

  7. I am not a supporter of Fitzpatrick by any means, but he is not the reason for the outcome today. In fact, he was one one of the few reasons the Bills remained competitive until the end. Yes, the pick was extremely untimely, but overall he was very efficient and made plays when he needed too. 27 points on offense should get the job done.

...which brings me to the defense. Absolutely pathetic. It's actually regressed from last year! If Mario Willliams' injury isn't really affecting his play as poorly as he thinks, he may go down as the worst FA signing in franchise history. Absolutely no push on his end. No desire to win battles.

Kyle Williams is the only guy that shows up week in, week out. The LBs and secondary may be the worst in the league as well. Go ahead, fire all the coaches, change the schemes, do whatever. What it comes down to is that aside from 2-3 players on defense, this unit is the worst in the league BY FAR.

  8. A group of 21 of us are heading to Cleveland Saturday morning (from Buffalo, Florida and Texas), and we're staying through Monday morning.

I was looking for some suggestions in terms of pre-game parties on Saturday night, as well as tailgate parties (prior to the game) on Sunday morning. We'd love to meet up with a bunch of Bills fans!

    Anyone know of anything happenin??

  9. Try the Hampton Inn downtown. Found it for $109. Seems to be the best value. A bunch of us are coming up from DC for it.

    will do, thanks.

If you don't mind me asking where you sitting? I plan on making The trip and it would be nice to be near other Bills fans. Haven't purchased my tickets yet and wasn't sure where to sit.

Section 513. I'd grab em soon, they're filling up quick! If you end up in 513, you'll be sure to see/hear us.

  10. Just locked up a group of 21 for the Bills game in Cleveland!

There's very few tickets left, and I asked where the rest are going (aside from their 60,000 STHs), the woman in the box office said, "You guys really travel well, all of the calls I get are Bills fans bringing groups."

Made me feel proud to be a Bills fan for sure.

On another note, anyone have any suggestions for reasonably priced hotels in the city of Cleveland? Thanks!

  11. Hello Everyone,

Working on getting a few buddies together for the Bills-Cowboys game November 13th in Dallas. Anyone here making the trip (or live in Dallas and going)? Haven't really traveled to an away games, so any tips (packages, booking times, ticket sources) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and Go Bills!

  12. Did you watch the defense play? Because they were far from solid. They sucked!!

Agreed. The defense was pretty bad. But you have to remember, Brady and the Patriots light up almost every defense in the NFL. Also, for the misinformed, Bulaga is the starting LEFT GUARD for the Packers.

"2. With a few additions in the off-season (QB, LB's, OT's) this team can turn things right around in 2011. I have confidence in Gailey and Nix."

We could have made those additions in 2010. Great Linebackers were available in free agency. Vick might have been available had we made an appropriate offer. Bulaga would be starting at left tackle. Adams might have been at right tackle. We would have had Incardona.

Its not the invasion of freaking Normandy...the guy should have improved the team in his first season. What makes you think he'll do any better if we give him a second?

Just like many other teams around the league, I think the Bills are taking a wait-and-see approach, given the unique CBA situation that is looming. Give them at least a couple of off-seasons before judging what they've done.

  13. For as much as everyone (including myself) bashes this team on a daily basis, I think we need to give credit where it's due. The Bills played a pretty solid game against a superior opponent whom they haven't beaten since the cold war.

There were 2 things that really stood out in regards to the big picture after this game:

    1. The QB is the most important position in football. Even with a mediocre (at best) o-line, the Bills offense was able to move the ball with regularity and put up 23 points. Imagine what it would look like with a real solid QB.

    2. With a few additions in the off-season (QB, LB's, OT's) this team can turn things right around in 2011. I have confidence in Gailey and Nix.

Lastly, this team is 2-1 with Michael Vick at QB. I still don't know if I would be ok with it, and hindsight is 20-20 but we beat the Pats and Dolphins with Vick at the helm.

  14. I agree on most points. However I disagree that the "O'Line was good when everyone was against them." Sure, they were far better than I expected them to be (except for Bell - what a headache), but they sh-- themselves when the pressure was on late in the 4th. Not that I didn't completely expect that from a Buffalo team, though.

I hear ya. Protection broke down towards the end. However, overall the o-line played good imo and they shouldn't have even been in that position given the ST mishap. I feel like the last minute of a game is always complete chaos, and obviously an o-line this new isn't ready for that. I guess it was a good learning experience.

  15. Simply put:

    -Edwards played solid

-O-line was good when everyone was against them

-Defense did their job (pressured brady and put six points on the board)

    - All of the big questions were not only answered, they passed with flying colors.

The hardest part about this loss- what is considered to be the strength (ST) blew the game.

Tough one to swallow indeed but minus one mistake, this is a huge upset.

If the Bills played the way the did tonight for the remainder of the season, 10-6 is not too far fetched. 9th win of the year comes by the way of the pats!

    GO BILLS!!!

  16. I am posting this without doing any research, strictly going off of hearsay. Too lazy to look up the stats. Maybe he just gets so many balls his way, where the drops are more frequent in comparison to other WR's? If someone can find a % of drops for T.O. in regard to passes thrown his way, that would cement the argument.
