  1. I assumed it was from Denny but you have a point. Maybe not. I'm with you on Mangold, wouldn't it be sweet if he somehow made it to us in the 2nd. Just don't see it happening though. Late
  2. Marv and the front office better had put together a creative contract for Mr. Wells if they really want him. From what Denny Green said, the Cards will match anything he receives. They still have a boatload of jack to do it with. Late
  3. how ironic at this timing....i just finished reading about those two players in two draft pubs just now!! third round is correct. while i like colledge, it was pointed out that his arms are too short and he allows de's to get to his body. i saw him control kiwi at the end of the year but they said he looked avg. in other games against top level competition. even suggested a move to guard would be in order. whitworth is a solid, "safe" pick for a rt or possibly g. doesn't have the speed and quickness for lt. mature and committed and a hard worker. sounds like a levy-style pick. perfect value in the 3rd. if or when we re-sign peters, he would be a solid depth guy or start at rt if peters moves to the lt. with that said, i go with whitworth as a future rt as a sure thing rather than colledge. late
  4. Not a bad player and was really over-paid last year as a F/A. Could probably do worse. Late
  5. Jason Fabini Kevin Mawae Jeff Faine(trade) Tom Ashworth Justin Hartwig(Carolina got him I think???) LJ Shelton anyone else? Late
  6. Nice find BADOL! Should be nice to see the future this way. The draft is my favorite time of year! Always enjoy your input so don't be too shy! Late
  7. While we wait to find out if Bates accepts the offer from the Bills, I couldn't help but wonder what type of relationship those two have/had. Assuming money would not be an issue, would he be a plugger for us next season? Hook 'Em!
  8. "Along the offensive line the biggest revelation for me today was how bad D'Brickashaw Ferguson looked as a run blocker. I know in the past I have compared him to Jon Ogden and Orlando Pace but during the practice I found myself thinking that he was no where near them as a run blocker and may not have the attitude or demeanor to ever reach that lofty level. He is still a top prospect and an amazing pass blocker, but my enthusiasm about him was definitely tempered a bit today. " Hook 'Em
  9. Look, all I'm saying is fans follow their team(s) at different levels. Those of us who choose to follow the draft and understand how and what happens on those draft days helps to shape and form our team shouldn't be lit up for it. Do as I do....just don't post or reply to topics I (you)don't care about. I don't get my rocks off knowing I was correct and the team made a fubar two years later. I want this team to win. I just know when we pass on a guy and he turns out to be a baller, it's nice to wonder why. If that knowledge isn't there, then, I suppose we just rip coaching and management till we are about to puke. Late Hook 'Em
  10. I'll get another one started asap! Look, in two to three years when you ask how team x got a particular player and our beloved bills chose to pass him by, we'll be the ones who know that information. It's simply fun to monitor who is available and what needs we seem to have and how to fix it. I don't think anyone really thinks they know who we will pick. It's just caring through thick and thin. Do yourself a favor and don't read anything on the board. Much of it(opinion bashing) has gone to crap in the last couple of years anyways with arrogance like this thread you've started. Hook 'Em
  11. Yeah, I was just reviewing that draft. With that, we could have as follows: 1. D'brickashaw Ferguson-LT 2. Brodrick Bunkley-DT 3. Deuce Lutui-LG 3. Gabe Watson-DT Talking about fixing the lines! One penetrating DT and a run-stuffing DT. One stud LT and a road-grader LG. Never will happen though!!!! Hook 'Em!
  12. ...one on one in drills with Kiwi? Ferguson is quick and agile and extremely long arms. Kiwi has demonstrated no ability to use a counter-move in their battles. Two days now and it has been awesome watching Ferguson. Granted, I've only seen about a half dozen plays between the two days but have read various reports as well that back up this theory. Hook 'Em!
  13. Picks 1 through 7 are made in no particular order are as follows: 1. Reggie Bush 2. Matt Leinart 3. Vince Young 4. D'Brickashaw Ferguson 5. A.J. Hawk 6. Mario Williams 7. Haloti Ngata 8. BILLS????? What do you do? Marcus McNeill Jimmy Williams Kiwi Eric Winston Trade Down? Hook 'Em!
  14. After watching film yesterday of DaBrick going head to head with Kiwi at the Senior Bowl, we would be damned fortunate to get this guy! Keep your fingers crossed that the Jets draft a RB or something else and he might drop to us but I think it will be a longshot. Love the Slay pick on the second day! He and Blue will make a nasty tandem for years to come. Gordon is a baller as you said, no doubt. Good job!! Hook 'Em!
  15. I've been a fan since 1973 and as loyal as anyone but this downward cycle isn't pretty. We have to be viewed as a "joke" to other franchises out there. Things better get stable around there or our dreams of bringing in free agents with talent are history. Find a coach with balls, give him some players, give him growing room and support him all the way. Hook 'Em!
  16. I like that way of thinking! Hook 'Em! Late
  17. Yeah, there should be a couple of good OG's there at our 2nd pick and I do like Joseph too. I heard the Texans' staff of scouts commenting on Justin Blalock with the comparisons to Larry Allen and figured he no ways gets by them at the top of the 2nd. Jonathon Scott seems to get it done at LT. In a trade-down only though! Hook'Em! Late
  18. Not sure how many of you guys have watched him this year but the only time for me is the Rose Bowl and he completed dominated a potential mid-first round DT in Rodrigue Wright. He was blowing Wright off the ball all game long until the final 4th and 1 when Wright penetrated to help stop Lendale White for no gain. Among other things needed, we have to get push up the middle to be able to run again. He looked tremendous in this game. Any SC fans care to comment? Also, the junior Texas RT, Justin Blalock, is thinking of leaving early. It has been said he is another Larry Allen in the making at OG in the pros. Those two Texas OT's never let either DE from SC even come close to Vince Young! Hook 'Em!! Late
  19. Our depth at LB is good. Extending CROWELL was something that had to be done as he is a good young football player, regardless of the type of DEF we will have here. Assuming TAKEO is healthy for next year, the wildcard would be POSEY. I thought it was strange when we signed him to be a 4-3 OLB as he was most effective in a prior 3-4 defense. If we are considering the switch to the 3-4, that would be a pretty impressive group of 'backers although no pure pass rusher among them. As for the d-line, ADAMS has a fit and some think DENNEY, probably so. The one big variable is SCHOBEL. He is solid and signed and is a 4-3 DE. He would have to be moved in a trade. Many teams would like to have the guy. Hustle guy that produces. not a pro bowler but second tier type. We would definitely pull a 2nd rounder that he cost us a few years back. The rest of the d-line in my opinion are scrubs besides ANDERSON sticking around. The draft could bring NGATA to anchor the NG position for years. EDWARDS back and if the shoulder is healthy could man one DE position. Rotation of NGATA,ADAMS,ANDERSON at the NG and DENNEY,EDWARDS starting at DE. Depth would need to be added via draft/free agency. Not that hard a move in my opinion. Not advocating it either, just observing this talk lately. With two seconds we would and should address the OL positions and maybe sign LeCharles Bentley-C or Hutchinson-G. Late
  20. Interested to see how he does. Would love to have him in B-Low!!! Late
  21. I hope he isn't as a fellow Longhorn fan as you are. But, reading some of the websites, specifically Orangebloods.com, players are saying that he and Blalock are both gonna come out this year. Hopefully, they both are back! Late
  22. yeah, you have a point. didn't put too much thought into that one. although, barron sucked this year but like you said, they wouldn't draft another first round OT. late
  23. 1. Texans--Bush,RB/WR 2. Saints--Leinert,QB 3. Pack--Mario Williams,DE 4. 49'ers--DeAngelo Williams,RB 5. Jets--Jimmy Williams,CB 6. Titans--D'Brickashaw Ferguson,OT 7. 24. Nice evaluation KZOO. I agree with what you have to say. One thing that is wearing me out is the up the middle offense and defense. WE need guys who can push off the ball across the front and conversely, shut down that on defense. Our first rounder should be the big DT from Oregon, HALOTI NGATA. Pair him up with a F/A like GRADY JACKSON and maybe we can slow some of this downhill running against us down. It's mentioned the C from New Orleans, LeCharles Bentley is a F/A. He would be a good start. Preston hasn't shown me much when he has been in the game despite what some here seem to think. Our 2nd Rounder might have to be moved up to get a OG from Georgia, MAX JEAN-GILLES. At that point, maybe another F/A could be found to play the other OG spot and let the OT's continue to battle. WE have to be able to run up the gut when we need to. WE can't run anywhere right now. I would also like to see with the thirds two young, big S's brought in. Tired of the guys we have. Let's get fast all over on defense besides the DT's. Late
