  1. complains about the harshness of the title but opens the thread. Too rich.
  2. okay, I'll do some homwork, get some cost information and I'll be in touch. We see if we can work something out if it's cost effective.
  3. cool....are you driving or flying? If you need any info about Calgary, let me know. It's a great place and I can give you lots of tips on places to go, nightlife, mountains, touristy things, etc. How long are you staying? My uncle is a customs person so I'm checking with him, and I'm crunching some numbers on costs, etc, for shipping, etc. What I'm looking at bringing over are 4 alloy rims with tires and an OEM spoiler. So, they will take up alot of space. But, if it all works out, maybe I can help defray some of your travel costs or some other mutually beneficial arrangement. If you don't mind me asking, is it alot cheaper in Canada for laser eye surgery? I guess the strong Canadian dollar isn't working to your favor right now. But I think I've seen eye surger advertised at $495 an eye.
  4. shite...that's too far....looking to ship some car parts, and it would be cheaper to drive down and pick them up!
  5. $2.5M for tiger mauling at game park Last Updated Fri, 28 Jan 2005 11:26:11 EST CBC News HAMILTON - Two people who were mauled by tigers at a wild game park nine years ago won more than $2.5 million in an Ontario court on Thursday. David Belac and his former girlfriend Jennifer-Ann Cowles convinced Madam Justice Jean MacFarland that they had not ignored posted warnings to keep their car windows closed as they drove through the African Lion Safari park near Hamilton on April 19, 1996. In a ruling issued on Thursday in Hamilton, the judge said the park should be held "strictly liable for damages resulting from such display" of wild predators like Bengal tigers. She awarded Belac $1.7 million and Cowles $813,000. The couple argued that their windows were closed prior to the attack. They were opened, they said, when a tiger bumped the car, startling Belac and causing him to accidentally hit the switches for the automatic windows. One 113-kilogram tiger reached in a window and mauled both Belac and Cowles. Two others tried to climb in while the couple struggled with the first. Belac, an accomplished accordion player, was bitten on both arms, his right arm suffering muscle, tendon and nerve damage. Cowles was an exotic dancer at the time, and argued the injuries she suffered and the scars they left ended her career as a "feature" dancer and curtailed her ability to make money as a stripper.
  6. Document Everything. Pictures, receipts, written records of conversations. Get witnesses, etc. Sounds like you won't get paid. You will have to go to small claims court and obtain a judgement against him. And you will get a judgement, but it will be a hollow victory. (no need for lawyer, do it yourself). Then the fun begins, collecting on your judgement. You can either garnish his bank account with the judgement or use something similiar to a civil enforcement act to have a baliff seize his property. Does he have a vehicle or anything like that? Have fun. He holds alot of the cards. If he wants to not pay, he'll not pay and let it drag or make you jump through all kinds of hoops and make a deal to pay 25% or 50% of the costs. Because it will be difficult for you to get 100%. But it can be done. PS. IF he really loves his dog, you can threaten him by saying that if he doesn't pay you will call the Animal Control society and his dog will be put down. That's the approach I would take. And even if he can't pay it all at once, I would try to at least get the first $100 or so and see if he's gonna play ball, or he's just yanking your chain.
  7. I myself having been spending much more time on audiworld than here lately. It's interesting to see the different dynamics on every board. The know it alls, the peace keepers, etc. The...I always have to be right, even when I'm wrongs! What other message boards do you visit? Oh also, taxthata$$. That is a damn fine message board!
  8. Credit ratings can have nothing to do about how you manage your money or deadlines. Alot of people get into bad credit, because of circumstances outside of their control. Death in family, loss of job, sick child, etc. Failed business.
  9. How does your credit rating correlate with hiring a good employee? I don't get it? Do I care how my employees manage money and spend it, as long as they do a a good job from 8-5 while they are at work?
  10. I'd say you got the interview. Good Luck. Be very outgoing, talk lots.
  11. I've switched a few times.... ...articled with KPMG - got my Chartered Accountant ...went to PricewaterhouseCoopers - worked in IT Consulting ....went to private industry - Controller ....currently as a articling Trustee for Insolvency and Corporate Recovery All in a 6 year span....so yah, you can say I've moved around. But It took me a while to find what I liked and I wouldn't settle for doing something I didn't like.
  12. I've been in small claims court before. And it's really a kangaroo court. Alot of times, the judges decision depends on what he had for breakfast. But I think your safe. Make sure the cheque has cleared. If you didn't get a certified cheque. Then let him take you to court. He had opportunity to get the vehicle inspected and you made no representations. Start now, document your conversation with this person. Time, dates. Key parts of the sales negotiations. It will look good in court if you need it. Bad transmissions happen. He test drove it. Had a third party conduct an inspection. He should be sueing the guy that inspected it.
  13. Also, the one other thing I'd add. Is puppies grow up so quick. Enjoy the time you have to spend with your puppy. When she's 10 years old and been a great companion you'll think back to these years with great memories of when she was a little puppy. Post some pics if you got some!
  14. Belichek cut drew and has said nothing but praise for Henry. Bill in NYC, don't let your hatred for Travis cloud your judgement. Travis is a damn good back.
  15. any spots where she pees in the house, clean with vinegar to hide the smell of the urine. Otherwise the dog can still smell it. Just make sure the vinegar won't ruing carpets, etc. I've also heard that a bit of tobasco after you scold them on the spot and let them smell it. That whey they'll associate the smell with scolding. Suppose to help them remember by smell. But I'd only try this if your having trouble. I've always crate trained my dogs. Just remember, they have little bladders and they want to please you and be good dogs. I've used the can full of pennies in the past. I had a dog that would chew things when I wasn't home. So, I would leave a shoe out that I knew she would love to chew, I would get a piece of fish line, and tie it to the cans. When she would pull the shoe, the can would fall on the ground and scare her. That taught her that she can't be bad when I'm not around. After that she didn't mess with things because she knew this can would come flying out of no where and scare her. You just got to out smart the dog and promote behaviour you want. I also wouldn't recommend indoor paper training. If the dog is going to pee outside, get her started peeing outside right away.
  16. He's got an injured ankle, and in the 4th quarter he was rallying the team, saying we can do this, as he was looking up on the score board??
  17. I'm glad to hear it. I've thought that Nate is Arguably the BEST player on the Bills. Period. I haven't said much, but that's what my eyes saw. It's good when a respected source confirms what your seeing on a day to day basis. I also think that next year, with McGee and Nate, we'll have two of the most dangerous corners in the league. Not that they're the all out best pure cover corners, but they're both bawl hawks and can catch and returners on special teams, so when they make an int, they know what to do with it. I still don't like the scheme that the Bills play at times. I think with the talent we have on defence, we should be better than we are. Something just doesn't add up if you ask me. For all the props that Sam and Pat have been getting, I think they've been doing a good job, but they're not even comparable to the wall that Pat and Ted had when we were the number one defence with far less talent in Wade Phillips years. I still think we're not as sound in our scheme as we could be. Really, our defence is alot like the Kearse years Titans defence. Big defensive plays, but you can move the ball on them. Just like RJ did in the second half of the playoff games. I would say our defence was better than theirs that year.
  18. Good points JP, didn't consider that. Having your best player on your team as the QB sure helps your cause towards winning. That's for sure.
