1. So if the admin doesn't say something, and something happens, it's their fault.

But if they say something and nothing happens, we are stressing your little brain out, and you can't handle that.  Maybe your mommy can rub your tummy and make you feel better.

I guess you can't handle the fact that your supreme leader traffics in fear and depends on it for his re-election. Maybe you could address my post legitmately instead of using insults. But I guess I just can't understand your supreme reason. Oops, my 'little brain' hurts.

  2. You mean we're still at war?  Maybe we should try being more sensitive.

    9014

What does that have to do with anything?

How about just informing people when it's necessary, when there are credible threats, and ensuring them that they and their rights are protected?

What the !@#$ is sensitive about that? It's called being responsible.

  3. OK, first, this belongs on PPP doesn't it?

Next, can we consider the source here?

The headline, on Fox News' site, says this:

"FBI: Al Qaeda May Target VA Hospitals"

read a paragraph down in the AP article:

'Although U.S. authorities say there is no credible intelligence regarding a specific threat against such hospitals, the bulletin said there have been persistent reports of "suspicious activity" at medical facilities throughout the United States.

That includes "possible reconnaissance activities" this year at unspecified military medical facilities in Bethesda, Md., and Aurora, Colo., the bulletin said. Even though later investigation of these two incidents uncovered no links to terrorism, the bulletin urges vigilance at VA hospitals (search) on the part of police and security personnel.'

OK. "No credible intelligence." Investigation "uncovered no links to terrorism."

So really, no indication that these hospitals have been targeted specifically by Al Qaeda has been made. But the headline gets your attention.

Aren't you sick of getting scared for no reason, other than that it keeps us in line, and distracts people from the fact that their constitutional rights are being violated and taken away? For all the talk about how this administration is protecting our freedom, I feel like both Al Qaeda AND this administration are whisking my freedoms away. Both sides use terror, one just uses it in the guise of protecting us and claiming to know what's for our own good. That includes floating stories like this that have no credibility, no backing from real intelligence, just ambiguous warnings.

This is really pissing me off. I have to try and completely avoid groups of people this week just so I don't get arrested walking my dog in Central Park, as I do EVERY DAY, because the city won't let people exercise their right to assemble. In the meantime I am supposed to be on the lookout for threats that may or may not exist based on intelligence from God knows when.

In the meantime, I don't know what to believe, what to be afraid of, and I don't trust hardly anyone.

If you find it hard to root for the "me" players, then how did you root for Bruce Smith all those years? People here are actually rooting against the USA, unbelievable.

    1) For as much of a "me" player as Bruce was, I don't think I ever questioned his leadership, his total effect on the team, his positive effect on the defense. He was kind of like Hasek for this defense. He made our defense more confident, our opponents more scared, tentative and frustrated.

    2) I don't know if I'm rooting "against" the USA, more against NBA ball. I like the team game played internationally, and it's exciting to watch these other nations who are playing for country. Do you get that impression from any of our guys? I like Lebron, Anthony, they're good kids. But we need more team players (and they needn't be white, just team players) to compete in this arena. We can't get by on our sheer athletic dominance in the game anymore because the rest of the world is catching up.

    3) Another medal to the U.S. is no big deal. We take this stuff for granted. I am proud and thrilled for our athletes, but I root for some Canadian athletes, it's cool to see the Greeks do well, and I enjoy seeing someone from a small African country win, where one bronze medal might be all the country gets. These people are genuine heroes in their countries.

I love the Olympics, and I love my country, but the completely skewed coverage brings to mind a favorite Clash song: "I'm so bored with the U.S.A." On occasion, it's nice to see what the rest of the world is doing.

BTW Iverson doesn't really make it easy to root for the US. Good ballplayer, but what an idiot.

That said, that was pretty unfair to everyone last night the way the crowd was out of hand during the 200m. Is it ANYONE's fault, much less the Americans', that the Greeks' number one guy failed a drug test and got into an accident? The conspiracy stevestojan in the Greek media is ridiculous. Like we'd fix it to win one more medal when we lead by 30 or so. <_<

  5. To anyone who thinks this was on purpose, learn to read and get a clue.

From the Buffalo News (I know, you can't believe everything in the media blah blah blah but these are actual quotes):

Vincent, who joined the Bills  as a free agent in March, said he  was trying to avoid Losman when  the two collided.

"That's my teammate, and I  want to see the young man have a  prosperous career," he said. "I  don't play the  game to injure  anybody.

"As he was  cutting, I was coming outside and  we collided. I didn't know he fell  and I continued to run, then I  looked back and he was on the  ground."

After a few minutes, Vincent  went to check on Losman, shook  his hand and helped him onto the  cart.

"I wanted to make sure he was  all right, and I asked him what  happened," Vincent said. "We  talked, and I'll make sure to keep  my prayers with him. . . . He was  running and trying to make  things happen, and he was trying  to keep the ball alive and get extra  yardage, and I was trying to maintain my leverage."

sounds like a real grade-A !@#$ to me. He MUST have hurt the QB of the future on purpose! <_<

  6. In case some of you missed it.....there  was a VERY VERY SLIM CHANCE HE WOULD PLAY THIS YEAR ANYWAY....and as far as him taking over next year....again, VERY SLIM! Hes not ready until at least 2006 to be our starter and to be honest, i really believe  he knows that as well!

    7137

I think Losman knows his place, and I hope to god you're right. I am rooting for Bledsoe to ride off into the sunset with a Bills SB ring or two...

However most folks would like to have had the option, JUST IN CASE, on that 'slim chance' Drew doesn't regain form or suffers another fluke injury, to have Losman in there learning and even possibly giving this team a needed spark. Drew's past year and a half do open up that discussion, unfortunately. Hopefully last year was mostly Gilbride's fault, and Drew can play through the suspect line and fire the ball off quickly, and hand it off for a LOT of big runs. So far I am cautiously optimistic. Anything that hangs more blame on Gilbride's head, I am all for. He was the most stubborn douchebag to ever front this offense.

But you can't tell me the Bills are prepared to hand the ball full-time to Travis Brown and make it his team. If that was the case they wouldn't have drafted Losman in the first place.
