1. There's this director type of another department that is the stereotypical corporate weasel.  Will ask questions and nod and understand, but then call you out in front of your boss.  Will ask for suggestions, disagree, and then bring them up as alternatives in meetings that you're in.

I'm of the same level as this guy, calling him out is an option, but probably not the right one. He's a complete slime ball.

    Comments? Thoughts?

Easy. Quit this job and become a consultant in your field of expertise. You'll make twice the money, people will assume you know everything, and you actually don't have to DO anything. It's all the craze!

  2. But the two points are mutually exclusive, because the QB is widely viewed as a problem that needs to be fixed.

    195090

They are certainly not mutually exclusive.

If the supposition is that the team (its record I assume he is suggesting) can be no better with him(Bledsoe) at the helm, then the postulate would imply that no changes would, should or could be made with the rest of the team.

The subjective comment that the "QB is widely viewed as a problem that needs to be fixed" has no bearing on the premise. It is an opinion with no empirical basis and can't be used to support either side of an argument.

  3. Dude, you're in BF territory with this run of posts...  I'll leave this alone, because it's obvious your football knowledge is Theisman-esque, but to end, the Chiefs have 1 receiving option.  Ditto the Eagles, ditto the Falcons.  According to you, a good offense needs more than that.  The Bills have at least 2.  In the 6-game winning streak, Bledsoe did a great job getting them the ball, especially on 3rd down.  In the Steelers game and the rest of the season, Bledsoe was horrendous on third down, plus he turned the ball over at an alarming rate.  His numbers during those games are comparable to Kerry Collins, Jeff Garcia, Kyle Boller and Kurt Warner - 3 has-beens and 1 never-to-be.  No one is suggesting it's all his fault (or at least I'm not), but let's face it - this team is as good as it's gonna get with him at the helm.  Tommy Maddox and Kordell Stewart each performed better in the same exact offense.

    195048

The 4 teams you named you claim did well with one receiving option. First off the Chiefs didn't do well. Are they in the playoffs? Is their record better than ours?

Eagles have 1 option because Terrell Owens is now injured. They are going nowhere without him.

The Jets squeaked into the playoffs because we lost. They have 3 viable receivers and a running back that is better than McGahee.

Price caught around 100 passes and had 1000 yards his last year here. Michael Vick can't throw the ball and Losman won't be running like Vick my friend.

To suggest this team "is as good as it gets" with him at the helm is to ignore alot of other problems that should be fixed and would make this team better with any QB.

  4. True irony if you consider the source. You could replace Moulds with Bledsoe in your original post and it would make alot more sense. Moulds is double teamed every play. Hes an unbeleivable blocker who hustles his ass off every play. He has a tremendous work ethic and might be the best athlete on the Bills. He has done everything to remain loyal to the Bills and he has kicked ass for us ever since his second year. But in your eyes its not Drew- its Eric. BTW as far as character- you are oozing with it. Very classy referring to JP as JP Loserman. I might add very mature.

    195039

I don't understand why Moulds is untouchable with so many fans. He complains and cries about not seeing the ball enough and when Bledsoe tries to give it to him he drops the ball in key situations. HE LEADS THE LEAGUE IN DROPPED PASSES.

Then fickle fans say Bledsoe "locks on to Moulds". Bledsoe can't win no matter what he does.

If you don't see a dramatic drop off in Moulds since the hamstring last year then I think you have your mind made up about him regardless of what goes on on the field. He's no longer a #1 receiver. Had he simply done his job in several games this year the Pitt victory might not have been necessary.

  5. What are the "key drops"?  That's already been debunked - those plays would not have resulted in first downs.  The QB does suck - look at the efficiency stats I posted earlier.  I understand you want new receivers, a new TE, a new o-line, etc., but meanwhile other offenses manage to get by with just a decent QB and one or two options in the passing game (the Chiefs, the Falcons, the Jets, the Eagles, etc.)

    195035

    The Chiefs? Come again?

The Falcons. Vick runs for 900 yards this year.

Let's see how the Eagles do without TO.

The Jets have Curtis Martin. McGahee is NOT Curtis Martin..yet.

Switching the QB isn't going to solve all the inefficiencies in this team. You'd think a "coach" would know that.

  6. Another ridiculous post by you.  Belichek would've kicked because he would've been POSITIVE that Vinatieri would make it, and that his defense would hold 9 times out of 10.

    195017

Because the word "coach" is in your name I'm supposed to revere your knowledge? Not based on what I've seen here.

Neither you nor I can say what Belichick would have done. But we both know this.

With an upstart team he decided to try to go for a win from his own 17 in Super Bowl 36 with 1:17 left in a tie game. And EVERYBODY was shocked. When you have a team that has a RARE opportunity to do something you play BOLD not timid.

To go for it would not have been "ridiculous". The brass ring only comes around so often.

  7. This post is just bizarre... actually, it's just plain wrong.  Moulds gets no separation?  Why is he still double-covered most of the time, then?  He doesn't jump for balls?  What about his acrobatic catch against the Steelers (on a horribly thrown ball by Bledsoe that was only 4 yards past the line of scrimage)?  Incidentally, he then broke 2 1/2 tackles and came up just short of the first down.  Luckily, it wasn't a third-down play.  This receiving corps is FAR from a joke, actually.  Yes they need a slot receiver and a consistent TE.  They also need a QB who can buy time in the pocket and throw accurate passes.

    195014

Moulds is living on his rep. He clearly has you sucked in. You don't seem to remember the key drops.

You just admitted that they need a slot receiver and a TE. That's 50% of a QBs options on passing plays. You think that and 11 penalties might have had an impact on Sunday? Nah.... the QB sucks.

  8. Yes, I do, and that's why I expect to see JP starting next year.

Fans may still be bitching about Drew & Lindell (and with good reason IMO),

but I'm very happy that almost all the fan-base has fully embraced the rest of the individual Bills players, MM, & especially TD. That's the best result of the winning streak, it's great to see top management trusted & thought of in good regard.

    194997

If you are "embracing the rest of the individual Bills players" then you are even more clueless than previously thought.

And if you think JP starts next year, you are delusional.

See ya, wouldn't want to be ya!

  9. As far as I remember Moulds only dropped 1 ball Sunday.

In the 1st qrtr on 3rd/long he was on a crossing route with Chad Scott in his shirt and had he caught it he would have been tackled immediately for about a 7rd gain, but would have been short of the 1st and the Bills would have punted anyways.

Drew tried again to hit him on the same route later on but Scott was there again and got a hand on that one.

So Moulds had one single drop that cost the Bills a grand total of about 7yrds of meaningless field position.....

    194968

Moulds dropped 3. And he runs his patterns half speed. His completions are for 8 yards or less. He gets no separation. Ever watch a NE game? There have been plenty in prime time this year.

Doesn't it frost you just a bit that the announcers are always saying..."Look at the time Brady has.. Wow look at that protection.. and so on? And his receivers are always open by 5 yards, and they catch EVERTHING!!!

This receiving corps is a joke. A joke. Moulds has stopped jumping for balls, diving for balls and runs secondary patterns half heartedly. Reed as a slot receiver is pathetic. And with Campbell and Euhus out there is NO tight end option. Evans has been good as a rookie, he still has a lot to learn. I'm excited about him.

You want to spend money in the off season? This is and the Offensive line are the areas to look.

Our receivers, as a group, are sub par.

  10. Rumor has it Belichek devours these types of stats - and it seems to have worked out for him.

    194976

He may devour stats but he has balls. He would have gone for it, no question.

But then he has Corey Dillon and an offensive line.

Mularkey did what rookie coaches do. He played it conservative so that no one could ever question the percentages. But............

It's a f'n opportunity to get in the god damn playoffs! After being the ball sweat of the league earlier in the season!!

Somebody, anybody, tell me why this team wasn't ready to play a game that gets them INTO THE PLAYOFFS.. where ANYTHING can happen?

11 penalties??? WTF? Moulds dropping everything? Neufeld not fighting for that god damn reception? An 11 minute drive by Pittsburgh with the scrubs in? Jesus!!

    Bledsoe not protecting the ball?

This team did not come to play!!

Where did they get psychologically il prepared for this? What happened? Pitt tried to give us the victory...

  11. I say there'd be no Music City Miracle,

because Drew would've thrown several picks and given up at least 1 fumble for a TD...

the game would've been over early, even with our great D.

Say what you want about RJ, but he showed more heart in that one game

than Drew has in the 3 years he's been here. :D

    193541

The crusade continues at an ever heightening level of idiocy. Led by guy who seems to get a chub every time he denigrates a guy he doesn't even know.

Now we have to endure fantasy suppositions about Bledsoe. Get a life, Rico.

  12. I don't think so.

True Bledsoe apologists are bigger Drew fans than Bills fans.

They tend to be losers in real life,

and naturally gravitate to Bledsoe, the biggest loser around.

They don't really care if the Bills win or lose,

as long as they have a misfit QB to look up to.

I see none of those traits in any of your posts. :)

    192405

I support Bledsoe as the quarterback next year.

He's better than anyone we have now.

I can easily quote stats and sitches that show Bledsoe's performances

    were aided/ruined by supporting players.

I presume that makes me a "Bledsoe apologist" .

And therefore, a loser, and someone who cares not whether the Bills win or lose

    according to Rico Einstein.

Rico has spoken. I am ashamed.

  13. In no other profession can you fail so often at your job and still have it.

    188587

    Huh?

    This makes no sense.

Bledsoe was the starting quarterback of the team that went 9-7.

That's a winning percentage my friend.

He holds ten Buffalo Bills franchise passing records and has been here for only 3 years.

As flat as this team played today they still had a chance to win. Had everyone done their job today, frankly it would have been an easy win. 3 of Bledsoe's incompletions were spiking the ball for timeouts. There were 3 drops by Moulds alone. On the Interception, Neufeld needed to go for the ball instead of letting the LB muscle him. It actually could have been pass interference.

I'm disappointed at the loss, but it was a team loss, and I'm totally surprised they didn't come to play.

  14. Who said anything about JP?

All I'm saying is, if JP's not ready, then let's go with someone else. BUT NOT DREW.

We could get the same productivity out of a Shane Matthews that we could out've the "new and improved" Drew. AT A FRACTION OF THE COST.

Which means, the money could be better spent elsewhere than on trying to make one man feel better.

    188501

You're writing off an awful lot very good play by Bledsoe by simply saying anyone could have done the same. It's very easy to suggest anyone could do it. Given 4 NFL games to play in, with no pressure in any of them, Losman coughed up a 38.9

    quarterback rating.

And if you seriously think Shane Matthews is a starting NFL quarterback, then you apparently don't actually follow the game of football. But I admit, it is cool to come in and rag on the QB when a team loses. Its the easy way out for people who don't want to take the time to see the whole picture.

  15. If we did sneak into the playoffs chances are that even if we lost our 1st playoff game, Drew would most likely be our starting QB next season.  At least now Coaches and Donahoe should be able to plainly see that Drew is washed up and unable to win.

    Let the JP era begin.

    188259

    Bledsoe will start next year.

  16. Think about how many times this year Drew has led this team to a win with his playmaking.  Then think about how many times Drew has piddled games away in clutch situations.  I have long been a Bledsoe defender, but the fact is that the leadership and intangibles you expect to get from a veteran vs. a rookie were not there this year.  Look at his stats during the winning streak and there aren't any great days as QB's go.  Drew is done as an NFL starter unless the Tuna is willing to take a shot with him.

    188409

    Bledsoe will start next year.
