  1. ask yourself would brady really have made so much a difference they would have won? would brady have made the defense play better in stopping the 6 direct snaps that crushed them? i have my doubts given how dominated they were all over of the field on both sides of the ball

What I think we'll see is that having Brady at the helm had an enormous impact on the team's play overall.

Confidence in their ability to overcome any obstacle and find ways to win was prevalent on the team w Brady. And quite honestly, I think last year many teams that paired up against NE were psyched into believing they could not win even before the first snap. All that is slipping away now. Opponents smell blood and are circling like sharks. I don't think NE is going to go down the tubes, but they are definately going to have to learn what it means to go toe to toe this year if they are going to do well.

  2. If seattle was able to blow them out and we blew seattle out there should be no reason we lose this game. 4-0 is a nice way to start a season if we are to be called a playoff caliber team we have to beat the teams we are suppose to beat an St louis is a team we are suppose to beat!!!!!!!!!

I agree they are a team we are supposed to beat, - but so was Oakland and they gave us (almost) all we could handle. I hope the Bills learned their lesson not to overlook anyone or take anything for granted. One week at a time...

  3. The difference between playoff and non-playoff teams is not all that huge. The teams that make the playoffs find ways to win the type of game we won today. All their wins aren't pretty. I'm delighted that we've found a way to win even when we played ugly for most of the day. Or in games where we played reasonably well and found oursellves down late in the 4th quarter. Remember - parity does reign for the most part in the NFL. No one is looking monsterously dominant.

At this point, the rest of the East are beating each other up = that's great for us. It will be REALLY interesting to see how we measure up against those teams once we start playing them. Once we have one game w each of them under out belts we'll know a lot more. I really like our chances!

  4. Wow, the game thread was going sour - but our Bills pulled out a HUGE win - I hope all the naysayers are eating crow now. This team is showing us new ways to win each week, and it's getting to the point where when the game is on the line on the last drive, our players are going to believe that Trent WILL get the job done!

Awesome come from behind win. After our long drive, when Oakland scored quick on the 3rd down pass, the announcer said that's the game winning TD. Then when we came back they started saying we should just settle for the FG so we wouldn't burn up too much time. F**k them, next play - TD!

    YEAHH BABY!

  5. Man when that last drive started I was thinking this is where playoff caliber teams step-up and make it happen. Deep in my gut, being a long time Bills fan, I had a feeling it just wasn't going to happen, and that my extreme optimism for this team was about to run smack-dab into the painful reality of another coulda shoulda woulda type loss. Still I held on to my hope. Wow - I was practically giddy about Trent's performance on that drive! Real poise and great passes in a real pressure type situation. Then our D steps up big time and makes the stops when it had to. I started feeling a real hope and belief that I have not had in a long, long, time. Great wins can burn away years of suffering. This is going to be a hell of a year! Go Bills!

  6. You know nature called and I missed a bit at the sports bar - Jags had just scored a FG. I step away, come back and the Jags have the ball - I totally missed what happened and was like WTF? I could not hear the audio so had no idea. So the Jags did an onside kick and recovered?

  7. I was rooting for the Jets because listening to media hype (which I stopped caring about some time ago anyway) is a small price to pay for what I think helps the Bills' chances of winning the division. :wallbash:

I rooted for NE, and expected them to win. The Jets barely beat a putrid Miami, NE barely beat a very weak KC. Then NE wins against NY, but not in dominating fashion. What this proves to me is what I already was thinking - the Jets are not gonna be world beaters just because of Favre, and NE will still be competitive without Brady, but will not be able to be dominating as in years past.

I wanted the Jets to get beat because the NY media is brutal on that team whenever anything goes wrong. It's weird but it seems the media is capable of getting into the heads of the Jets team and to me, that's a good thing - much better than them getting confident and believing in themselves. I see us beating the Jets twice, the Dolphins twice, and splitting with NE.

  8. Just got back from watching the game at the sports bar. HUGE win for us!!!

So nice to see a clutch game winning drive late in the 4th quarter, complete with 2 BIG plays when needed!

Not to mention TWO clutch stops in the final minutes. On the road. In the heat. Against a playoff caliber team no less!

We are looking SOLID!! Go Bills!

  9. I am heartened by the fact that they kept it close last year, despite being outmanned in terms of talent. The D can't spend the same amount of time on the field this year as last. I think Bills win a close one, with Edwards executing a broken bootleg on the last play :nana:
I remember watching that game last year and feeling pretty good about our chances up until the 4th quarter when the wheels started coming off. I sincerely hope the heat is not getting to us late in the game. It sure seems like this is an upgraded, improved Bills team, and the Jags are hurting due to offensive line injuries in particular. Frankly, I'm expecting a hard fought win for the blue and red!
