Cutting DJ now is the only chance the Bills were going to find a good HC. Can't believe I'm saying this but Bravo Ralphie.
There are going to be a ton of teams looking for a new coach next year with better markets then the Bills including Jets for the literally sad display he showed. "THERE'S NO CRYING IN FOOTBALL!" Right now there is no competition and have open pick on remaining coaches. Having Shanahan is the perfect option being a team with weak QB's, a strong run game and the worst OL to ever populate a 52 man roster.
Shanahan to Buffalo... Can't say it will never happen... TO's here

This is the typical smoke screen I would expect from OneBillsDrive. The coaching decision to use hurry up after the obvious failure to launch any kind of offense and rush our defense ASAP is foolishness. Now injuries are piling up on all the players making the tackles (LBs)... We are witnessing the biggest catastophe of a football season since Bledsoe lost a playoff birth to the Steelers 3rd stringers... TE could have been the guy but the foul coaching has destroyed any chance of success for him. He plays as DJ coaches, with indecision and ineptitude. Hurry up should have been thrown out after week 3 half time. If not sooner.
The worst part of it all is I dont see even a flicker of hope in the future of the team. Even if the Bills get the #1 pick in the draft you think RW is going to spend the $$$$$ on a QB at that spot. He'll trade it down and do his best to convince everyone that that was the smart and safe thing to do. The Bills have been "Smart and Safe" for 10 years now.
Second point is what coach in his right mind will come to Buffalo for an owner that wont put money into the team. Another side step from DJ hoping to continue a similar failed career thats what.
So here is what Buffalo has to look forward to, a smart second round pick at QB and DJ II or Wade Phillips IV, or better yet a team that ends up in LA... I am not expecting Toronto to want to invest with a front row seat to this calamity.

DJ and Edward are far too alike and it shows on 4th in one or when its time to throw deep. Why make a play for 40 yards when you can make one for 5... Why go for 4th and one with the game on the line when you can punt and try later... Same mentality. Edwards is not the guy to lead a team against a tough opponent. How many QB's in the league would be begging about throwing to Evans, TO and Reed. Some QBs make their WRs look good. Some make them look bad.
Don't buy into the Oline wasn't protecting enough which is what I'm sure ESPN will be cramming down our throat. If a QB holds the ball longer then 3-5 secs its the QBs fault. End of story... No more excuses about the WRs not getting open because Evans is the only good one. This was Edwards year to show he can do it. Grade FAIL. Fitz could throw to a RB or TE all day. Why do we need Edwards to do it. Not say hes better
put both Jackson and Lynch back there and just forget the QB all together. Doesn't take much of an arm to check down...Print it!!! Edwards = Captain check down

Why couldn't he play as a strong guard or something else for is... This looks to me like a $$$ cut... Not whats best for the team. You cannot convice me he couldnt' have played another position.

Well with the running back coach is calling the running plays and the qb coach calling the passing plays the Bills obvious offense just became more obvious. Just look to the other sideline and see who is calling the play in...

Bills gave up the season when The Ralph left DJ in charge... This season is a wash and we'll be seeing a new HC before the end of it. I'll give up a year to put a good couch in that wins games and take the Bills to the playoffs and keep the Bills in Buffalo. Already gave up 9 going on 10...

Perhaps. But, can you see the humor in the current situation? JP was widely ridiculed because all he did was look for the long bomb and wouldn't use outlet receiver. (I'm not saying that's true, just saying that was what was being said.) Trent was built up and seen as the next great thing. Now, he's being ridiculed because all he does is look for the checkdown, out receiver and doesn't throw it long enough. (And, unfortunately, that is quite factual.)
It's kinda like that old saying... be careful what you ask for, because you just might get it. Well, we all got it.

What a load of BS, if the Bills get pounded by the Patriots in week one, we will all know what to expect the rest of the season.
On the other hand IF they pull off a miracle and beat the Patriots, then your point might be valid. But after watching the Bills and Edwards play against that Packers 3-4, I doubt they will even keep the game close at NE.

It's odd that guys come on here to attack people and act like they come in peace. Then they have the I am not watching this thread post but somehow still post to show how smart they are by avoiding it.

I've been a good patron here on TSW so I suggest you find something else to complain about, I have dozens of threads and over six thousands posts and I've had one run in with the Mods. Simon firmly put me in my place and that was the last time I've been a problem and that was a long time ago. I have been a member of this board as you can see for some time and I only try to post when there is something worth posting. What these posts have shown me is that there are a few people that should follow the same discretion. People are right to disagree. And if your posts are senseless banter people have the right to say so. Post something with more cred and you wont. Everyone also has the right to defend theirself. Good for you for doing that.

Virtually impossible to know because tackles aren't an official stat. Each team records its own tackle numbers, and this is a pet peeve of mine. It shouldn't be that difficult to define a solo tackle and an assist, but the NFL has been unable to do it and leaves it up to each team.
NFL.com does accumulate tackles as they're listed in the stat packet at the end of each game. That's where they get their numbers that people are quoting above, but those stats are obsolete just a couple days after the game when the coaching staff releases its tally.
So for me to know where Schobel ranked at any given time, I would need the media notes from each of the 32 teams for that specific week.
FYI, when I write about a defensive player and list his defensive stats, I use the team figures, not the NFL figures.
This has stunned me... I will forever look at total tackles differently. Do you know of any teams that typically give tackles to players rather generously?

I have been hearing alot of chatter about how UFA are passing through the Buffalo Bills without signing because they don't want to be a Bill since they aren't a sexy team or bad climate, but you ask me if that were really the case the Bills wouldn't have gotten TO or Dominic Rhodes. I think the Bills weren't sold on the players that passed through. Players want money and if the Bills want the players they will get them. I think Rhodes is a better sign then Fredd Taylor any day with injury and (age?) in mind. Both are high impact players. I guess going to the Pats is another thing because of the posibility of winning but money talks the most and if the Bills want someone they will get them. IMO
