Everyone yelled about sugar-rush Josh costing them Week One single-handedly.  Now people are actually complaining that he didn't play like that on Sunday?

    Really?

This board can be ridiculous.  After week one, some moron was saying Josh was as bad as Peterman.

Screens aren't easy to run with Josh Allen.

They work well when DLs pin their ears back and rush like crazy. They don't do that with Josh because if they do he'll run right past them.

Screens also don't work nearly as well against zone coverage as they do against man-to-man. And very few teams run a lot of man against us, partly to stop Josh from running and partly because man is less confusing to the QB and teams want to slow Josh's processing as much as they possibly can.

The Bills have thrown a bunch to TEs. We're 9th in the league in passes to TEs, with 19 to each guy. Our primary receiving TE is a rookie and that is going to delay things. There's a good chance that as he figures things out, our TE usage will go up quite a bit.

TE as a checkdown....yawn.  Look how Detroit is utilizing their rook TE.

  3. Our O-coordinator is average at best.  He called a great game against Miami, and was horrid against Jacksonville.  Can our offense learn how to run a screen pass someday and utilize the TE please?

Makes it even more puzzling to understand why they can't get top end production out of someone with Elam's elite athletic traits

I have a feeling he is struggling with his assignments in this defense for whatever reason.

That game was historic. It probably won’t happen again. Not to mention, we’ve won bad weather home playoff games already.

It shouldn’t be on the top 50 things for you to worry about. A December game almost 2 years ago?

Historic because there is NEVER bad weather in Buffalo that will limit your ability to pass the ball.   Funny how Bills players and coaches keep saying they need to be balanced on offense, and and a wanna be here says you should throw it 90% of the time.

I don't "worry" about football because it isn't my life.  Don't quit your day job because you won't make it as a psychic.

How did that season end for them?

I seem to recall the good QB putting the bad QB in a box and beating them by 40 in the playoffs. In Buffalo.  Throwing the football. The horror!

It doesn't matter how the season ended for them.  Suppose you have that wind during a home playoff game and you lose. Season over.

Did you vote for Eisenhower in the last election?

No, but Eisenhower's corpse would be an improvement over Biden.  Guess you don't remember the wind game here when the Patriots threw it three times and beat us.

No it doesn’t. Chiefs were 25th in attempts last year. Taking the ball out of your star QB’s hands is a win for the defense, always. This is dinosaur mentality.

In Buffalo you HAVE to be able to run the ball.

The Bills drafted running back Zack Moss in the 3rd round (86th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. At the time I liked the pick and thought of him as a good physical back. He flashed at times as a Bill but was mostly a disappointment partly because of his inability to stay healthy and partly because of his general ineffectiveness. He never seemed to resemble the player he was at Utah.

Finally last Halloween we traded him to the Colts for fellow running back Nyheim Hines. Besides swapping him for Hines, we acquired two physical runners (Damien Harris and Latavius Murray) to provide that ruggedness that Moss was supposed to bring us.

By the time he was shown the door he was pretty much a whipping boy for members of this forum. It hasn't been spoken of much around here but Moss has quietly resurrected his career.

Here are his stat lines from his last 5 regular season games with Indy:

Zack Moss last 5 Regular Season Games with the Colts
    Date ATT YDS YPC
    12/17/22 24 81 3.38
    12/26/22 12 65 5.42
    1/1/23 15 74 4.93
    1/8/23 18 114 6.33
    9/17/23 18 88 4.89
    AVERAGE 15.4 84.4 5.48

I'm curious if anyone here has any insights as to what has changed to make him a seemingly effective NFL running back. Health? Scheme? Also would you say his improvement has vindicated the Bills decision to draft him in the first place?

Buffalo wasn't dedicated at all to running the ball when he was here, and the O line stunk at run blocking which is probably why they threw it most of the time.

Josh Allen does a great Nathan Peterman impression.

I don't know.  That first interception traveled about 50 yards downfield while Josh was scrambling.  Don't think Nate the Great could throw it half that distance from the pocket.

Josh had 3 Int's for the game, Nate the great threw 5 in a HALF.

Josh was bad but not nearly "Nate the Great" kind of bad.

Some of the onus lies of the Lions staff and players for not bringing it to the officials attention (if they did not do so). If they did and it was still allowed then that is not a good look at all, on national TV with even the announcers cracking jokes about it almost every play. It was baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad

Exactly - the Lion's staff shouldn't have to tell the ref's that a O lineman lining up in the backfield is a penalty.
