  1. Well I have said from the beginning that the Jets seem like they were building their team to be like ours. Why? I have no idea because we have not won jack sh_t but they have.

We wanted a mobile quarterback and drafted EJ Manuel First then they got one in Geno Smith.

We had a fast running back in CJ spiller, then they went out got Chris Johnson,

We got a Sammy "Do IT ALL" Watkins, then they went and got Percy "Knock My Teammate Out" Harvin.

They even been picking up our scrapes at Receiver (Ex. David Nelson, TJ Graham.)

So yes in many ways they Jets are Built the same way the Bills are right now.

I don't really think they're really trying to do the same thing as the Bills, they just recognize the fact that if you want to beat Brady you have to pressure him so we both have tried to put a solid front 7 together. Why we put one together and failed to blitz Brady, then watched him sit back there and shred our secondary for the entire second half is on the coaching staff. As far as mobile Qbs go that seems to be where the league is going regardless of the fact the best QBs in the league are pocket passers. The Bills have one now they need to protect him, I have a lot of respect for Orton with sh#%t for an O-line he stands in there with his eyes down the field trying to make a play.
  2. One great season? The guy has been fantastic since he's been in the NFL and he's only gonna keep getting player. Stats don't tell everything(and the guys stats look pretty damn good to me, how many other D-lineman have 3 touchdowns this year?) The guy is as complete of a defensive lineman as I've ever seen and plays relentless. Trust me I hate crowning players until I feel they've truly earned it but in this case Watt is a guy who deserves all the praise he's been getting. I mean he still has to put up these kind of seasons for a long time before he can be considered one of the all-time greats but he's on his way. As long as he doesn't get injured I don't see the guy slowing down with the type of work ethic and mentality he has..A real throwback

    + 1
  3. If you don't think Sammy is worth it take a look at what a difference a stud reciever makes to a team. You don't have to look any further than the Bengals and what they have done since A C Green was hurt, Atlanta without Julio Jones last year, in todays NFL a star reciever is a difference maker and our FO recognized that and went out and got us one. Sammy will be paying dividends long after this discussion has been put to rest, the Watkins deal will probably go down as one of the smartest moves ever made by a Bills FO.....

  4. That's with Marrone going into the week declaring we need to get better on first down. 12 running plays for 20 yards and a fumble. 15 pass plays 4 receptions for 33 yards an interception, 2 sacks one strip fumble -10 yards. 27 plays for +43 yards 1.59 yards per first down attempt. God knows what would have happened if the coaching staff didn't work on getting better on first downs this week, what did they spend some extra time coaching up the secondary too!!!

  5. Offense: 1. Glenn, 2. Sammy, 3. FJ. Defense: 1. Dareus, 2. KW, 3. Mario. Overall: 1. Dareus, 2. KW, 3. Mario. Whoever voted for kiko needs to have their head examined. Top three on offense and defense are so close though. Tell ya what, those are six pretty sick f'n football players. Our defensive line is freaking insane.

No doubt about it our D-line has to give offensive coordinators nightmares, you would think our O-line would be better from the experience of practicing against them. I went FJ without him we probably lose at Chicago and Detroit, Mario on defense although it's hard to pick anybody over Marcel and KW and over all Mario, by years end it very well could be Sammy or Marcel. How nice is it to have a talent like Mario and there are so many other players you could make a legitimate case for. With the Pegulas hopefully we start keeping our best players.
  6. I'd take the Cardinals.

Home, Washington played Monday night, they're heading west...

+ 1 I like the Cards for the same reasons stated above but would wait as long as I could to put the pick in see who is going to play QB if Stanton and Palmer can't play, take the Bengals at home they're going to be really fired up after the Patriot beat down. Stay away from interdivision games teams know each other to well, they're often way closer than they should be. Like Seattle too but would save them.
  7. I've been to games in 7 NFL venues: Cotton Bowl, Texas Stadium (original), Houston Reliant, NO Super Dome, Seattle, Detroit (SB XL), and the Ralph.

The Ralph is by far the best. Texas Stadium during the 70s - 80s Cowboys heydey was pretty sweet. However the game presentation and fans at the Ralph are amazing. The Shout Song thing is brilliant. After a Bills score the whole crowd stands up and sings the song. Then after the song is over it's time for the kickoff. Never seen anything like that anywhere else. In Seattle, after a TD they play commercials on the Jumbotron. How lame is that?

Watching a football game in an indoor stadium feels so artificial and just not right.

And fans at the Ralph you can tell are real fans and have been for a while. In Seattle everyone is in Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman, or BeastMode jerseys. When I used to go to game there around 2005 - 2007, it was all Matt Hasselbeck and Shaun Alexander. At the Ralph I see all kinds of old jerseys. Even guys who were flops and left on inauspicious circumstances like McGahee, Trent, and Whitner. I even saw a guy in a Scott Norwood jersey last game I went to. I was trying to think of the most obscure jersey I have that I could wear to a game. Quinn Early I though. There was a guy in my section in a Qunn jersey.

And just the sheer number of fans at a game for a team that hasn't even had a winning season in 9 years.

I don't' want a new stadium. I go to watch football, not admire fine art work.

    The Ralph is right!

My brother has a Norwood jersey he wears it when we go to Miami, it tends to temper the dol-fans around us...
  8. Giving up another draft pick I think would be a bad idea. Which I think it would cost in terms of any trade. That 4th for Brown looks worse each day.

It's to early to say the Brown deal was a bad one, he looked good in the preseason, and had two monster games with the Eagles. Given CJ and FJs injury history at some point this season he'll play a significant role and we'll be damn glad Whaley got him.
  9. He owns the Jags ferchrissakes and he's bragging about his game day experience in Jacksonville? Doesn't the NFL understand that there are two ingredients and only two ingredients necessary for an outstanding game day experience. They are a team and real, committed football fans. If you're going to a game to see the huge video boards or watch whales swim in the sideline pool then you aren't a fan.

Does Buffalo need a new stadium? Meh. The Ralph for its age has never bothered me one iota & I feel it's a great place to watch a football game. If a new stadium is built I'm OK with that too because everybody wants something new and shiny, but it's not a must have for me.

    http://www.buffalone...two-bills-drive

Went to a Bills game in Jacksonville Bills fans seriously outnumbered jags fans it was like a home game, jags fans were even saying this is like a home game for Buffalo. Aren't they covering seats in Jacksonville so it doesn't look so bad on tv.
  10. Lol. Orton is 31, roughly the same age as guys like Rivers and Rodgers, and a half decade younger than Brady, Brees and Manning. He was out of the NFL for all of 5 weeks.

Jackson is old, yes, but that's why you have quality depth like Spiller, Dixon and Brown. And we have a strong group of playmakers at WR.

Outside of TE and the interior OL, we are about as complete of an NFL team as you are likely to see in the salary cap era.

I agree the Bills are one of the most complete teams you will find, granted they need help at the guard position, but Seattle as good as they are also needs help on their o-line Russel Maryland won the game last night with a lot of broken plays due to O-line play. I'm most impressed with the depth Whaley has aquired, we went into the Lions game down a pro bowl DT and probably the most productive LB on the roster and still held them to 7 offensive points and 69 yards rushing. I could care less what this team did in years past right now we have a very young talented roster with depth that has won 2 road games that nobody thought they could win. How many of those past teams would have would have been running for the bus as soon as they went down 14 on the road. This is a different team comparing them to the 2003 thru 2011 versions is rediculous, I would compare them to the 88 thru 90 versions that were young talented and learning to win in the NFL. I view the glass as more than half full....... of Kool Aid and I'm drinking it.
  11. Was a pretty vicious rivalry back in those days. Its no picnic to go to a divison rivals house weaing your teams colors. The beatings taken, thats just a badge of honor

Back in 1980 we had a chance to clinch in New England the week after Lennon was shot, we drove up to the game, the Bills got throttled think we only scored a safety that day, but to get to the point I saw a Bills fan take an all time beating there, I don't know what he did, but he was getting beat by a crowd of Pats fans haymakers coming from every direction it was really ugly....
  12. The Ralph can be a pretty rough place for fans of the opposing team, so bring it 'Phins fans. Haha.

Plus theres just something about a grown man wearing teal and orange thats just not very intimidating.

Back in the 90's I had front row season tickets in section 115 for whatever reason there were 4 seats by me that were consistently sold to fans traveling from out of town, we always treated them good, back when you could bring a thermos make them a drink or two, met a lot of decent people. I've traveled to a lot of games and have been treated very well every place but Miami, in Miami I've been threatened had stuff thrown at me beer thrown on me they are the worst. I learned when you go to a game there, go to the bus parking lot and check with the groups from Buffalo they often have a few extra tickets strength in numbers they aren't so brave when your sitting with 50 other Bills fans. I've seen a few Bills fans take a beating down there usually when it's just a couple Bills fans stuck in a section full of fin fans.
  13. What a joke they want to take over our stadium I've been to multiple Bills games at all three NFL stadiums in Florida, they can't even take over their own stadiums. Bills fans travel well in Florida, went to a game in Jacksonville where the Jaguars fan sitting next to me said I can't believe this it's like a home game for you guys. Can't attend the game this Sunday, please make these guy feel as welcome as they have done for me in Miami, I've taken a lot of s#%*& down there.

  14. If you look back at the first round of the NFL draft over the course of several years there are a high % of misses or marginally servicable players that come out of the first round. Sammy Watkins was widely viewed and still is a rare talent with a very strong work ethic, which is also a rare combination with todays young athletes. My immediate reaction to the trade was negative to say the least, but after given a little time to digest the trade barring injury IMHO I believe we will all look back and applaud the day we made this deal.
