  1. Manning made a stupid mistake that amounted to assault.

The subject was buried and both sides were gagged.

Manning brought the subject to the forefront again by writing about it in his book and slandering another person.

That someone feels that a settlement somehow justifies this assault is galling to me.

That someone continues to obfuscate facts and hide behind political correctness gone amok and an author with an agenda is galling to me.

That someone continues to demean others in this thread galls me.

That someone who has continuously demeaned others in this thread continues to preach tolerance galls me.

That someone feels that time heals all wounds tells me that someone has never been wounded himself.

That someone should do the wise thing and leave this thread.

That someone can carry on this conversation via PM with anyone who is interested in continuing it because I doubt he has anything of substance to offer here.

Well said, I couldn't agree more...

  2. The Patriots have Tom Brady, arguably the best QB of all times, he has consistently kicked the Bills ass along with the rest of the league for a long time now. I had season tickets in the 90's, and I met more Patriot fans at Bills games that drove up here from Boston just to experience game day in Buffalo, they were Patriots fans, but above all they're sports fans, and could appreciate greatness. I thought it was classy, here in Buffalo fans jump on any little news nugget that supports the theory the Patriots have to cheat to win. The Patriots win because they are better coached and have a great QB, show some class Buffalo, and give this cheatriots crap a rest.

  3. Based on this year alone? All the guys listed ahead of him, Alex Smith, Rodgers, Fitz, Eli, Flacco, Luck just off the top of my head.

I like Taylor and I am consistent that I don't crazy over one year. It's why I wanted to give guys more time after their first years to just label them busts. This league adjusts pretty quick.

We beat one team with a winning record. Our gameplan was to limit the amount of passes. In almost half of his starts, we threw for 215 yards or less. Again, I like Taylor but there is a lot to improve on. He is Alex Smith with a deep ball who doesn't throw over the middle. There's are certainly things he can improve on but to say he's a top 10 qb after one year is being a giant homer.

Fitz, really, you can't be serious, he threw half as many interceptions as TT did all year in three straight possessions with the playoffs on the line. My God I wish we had him back, after the game Sunday, I was reflecting on how much I miss those late game back breaking interceptions you could count on with Fitz.

  4. The 91 Bills played 5 out of 6 on the road and went 5-1 good teams overcome what the league throws at them, but I also agree when it comes to scheduling the Bills seem to get an over abundance of teams coming off extra rest, and not just this past season, There has to be a way to balance the distribution of these games. From my perspective the Bills had the first legitimate shot at a playoff run from a personnel standpoint in a long time. The league seen fit to hand us 5 out of 6 on the road as well as several games against teams coming off extra rest, then turned every Bills game into a flag fest. I'll be the first to admit a lot of the penalties were deserved, but there were a lot of very costly bad penalties. For a team braking in a new head coach and offensive and defensive system it starts to be a lot to overcome.

  5. Get rid of EJ before Whaley makes another questionable move trying to promote his favorite man crush. The man was trying to force him on head coaching candidates last year during the interview process, traded Cassel to force him up the depth chart. After hearing him trying to sell EJ to prospective luxory box owners in December of 2014, I could see how deep his man crush ran. If Whaley's staying Manuel needs to go. I'm sorry if you bought his jersey, but it's time to throw it in the drawer with the rest of the crumpled up QB jerseys Brandon has sold us over the years.

  6. Um, no. In Greggggg's last year, 2003, the Bills were #5 in team defense (#2 passing, #8 rushing). If you're looking to hang your hat on the fact that Ryan can turn this around next year, Williams is a bad example. He actually shows that it may take Ryan years to get it right. In 2001, the Bills finished #29 in total D, 2002, #27 in total D. Do we have two more years to wait for Ryan to retool?

+1 great coaches scheme around personnel, they don't marry themselves to a scheme and piss a season away forcing it on them. Bill B and Tom B exposed Rex's defense in week 2 Ely Manning repeated the performance, and Rex's answer was to drop D lineman into coverage with a nonexistent pass rush that allowed mediocre passers to have career days against him. Play has been sloppy and undisciplined all year, but he's a players coach they would run through a wall for him provided it was constructed with crepe paper. Peggs cut your losses while you still have a roster.....

  7. Come on man, that was 15 years ago. A lot has changed since then....

Doesn't change the fact for the second time in 15 years they changed defensive schemes when the one in place was very successful, what has changed? 15 years later were out of the playoffs and going into the off season looking to retool the defense to fit the new scheme, not to mention 5 DCs in 5 years, new owner same dysfunction.

  8. I hate to play the conspiracy theory card, but the NFL sets up these week 17 division games because they want them to mean something. An NFL front office employee actually admitted the NFL is entertainment business and they develop storylines, I don't have the quote, but I read it in a few places. Rex is a good story he plays well with the media, if the flags fall for the Bills for a few weeks they could easily be relevant in week 17.....

  9. The Bills have had 3 Head Coaches and 8 O and D coordinators in the last 5 years, unless they are trying to emulate Cleveland, I would hope the Pegulas keep things as are. Whaley has done a hell of a job bringing in talent if they fired him he would land elsewhere in a hurry, and fans would be twice as angry he's gone, a lot of good things are happening let it play out. REMEMBER THE 95 COLTS (So your telling me there's a chance)

  10. Let's face it officiating was once again lousy, but lets not overlook that the core veterans on this football team come up woefully short almost 100% of the time for the past decade in any big game, what's their excuse this week the nearly all backup o-line was just to good for our vaunted defense, or the noise at Arrowhead was to much, there was a lot of blue in there today.

  11. You cannot expect an official to make the correct call on the Maclin pass in real time. It's a microscopic play. You have to see it in slow motion from a perfect angle to know it was not a catch. That's ridiculous to blame officials on that play. Blame Bills coaches in the booth not alerting Rex in time not the officials.

That's funny I was yelling at the tv no catch before they showed the replay it didn't help the antiquated ref by the play was wallowing around on the ground, the announcers didn't catch it until after the next play. My question who is responsible for for getting this information to Rex, when the opposing team is rushing down the field on a long completion to hurry and get a play off it's a safe bet they think it's incomplete.

There were four different angles on the Maclin catch I saw on replay. Only one of the four could you tell he dropped it. And even then it was an inch. And it was super slo mo. If you are not in perfect position and get a perfect view you still wouldn't have a great idea of whether it was an inch incomplete or an inch complete. Expecting anyone anywhere to make that particular call correct more than 50-50 is asking too much. Three out of four slow motion replays didn't show it.

You must have been watching a diferent telecast I have bad eyesight and I saw it.

  12.

I think we as Bills fans feel worse about it, because how can one team be so bad for so long?

NFL success should be cyclical as it is currently set up, unfortunately Mr. Wilson was trying to make the case small market teams couldn't be succesful without profit sharing around the last time the Bills should have cycled up, I love Marve Levy, but his hiring as GM was a hatchet job on the organisation.

  13. What exactly can they do? They have to call these things at speed, while we get to review everything from multiple angles and in slow motion. If they review every call, that'll kill the game. Add more refs, will probably just result in more calls. There's not a whole lot of reasonable answers... it's best to just accept it as part of the game, kinda like the odd shape of the football that bounces a bit unpredictably, sometimes your way, sometimes the other way.

Honestly, I seriously questioned the NFL's decision to review calls from a central location in NY. The NFL and NFL betting are multibillion dollar industries do you really believe they leave it to chance. They review penalties, but not the most painful game changer (pass interferference) how many Bills games have been decided by a phantom pass interference call, and who can really look at an instant replay on a reception that's being reviewed and consistantly mirror the decision made in NY. The announcers can't do it and the majority of them played in the NFL. If the NFL wasn't a little cozy with the Vegas book why are they so adamant there is a complete and honest injury report? It's my oppinion the oddsmakers are the chief beneficiary of the injury report. Back when the Bills were going to Super Bowls the majority of officials were lawyers and accountants during the week, whom better could hide payoff money. I believe the NFL and Vegas have been in collusion and it goes back as far as the Jets-Colts Super Bowl. Now that calls are being reviewed in a central location all games can be controlled. There is a lot of money on the line every week, and if you don't believe it's possible then you haven't been paying attention to how multibillion dollar industries have operated in America for some time now.

  14. Playing Jax away (London) versus @ home is really great for a few reasons, one of which is we didn't have to waste one of our home games to a team we will beat & it's a neutral site game. Playing Indy at home & first gets a tough game out of the way with the home crowd's (12th man) energy to lead us. Brady should at least have 2 games left on his suspension after appeal & we get to play his back-up in the season without Bill B. having much game film on us. No way we normally get that lucky to play the world champion team without their starter, normally the QB from those teams always plays early the following year (like always).

One other non-opponent related event, our Bye-week nearly splits the season in half. Other teams have a bye week after the first month (Pats in our division!!) versus 2 months for us.

It seems like every year the Bills drop a game to a lesser opponent, last year it was the Raiders. This year going to London to face the Jaguars could be that game, Rex needs to keep them focussed for this one this is the third consecutive season the Jags have gone to London and as an organisation they should be far better prepared to play there, for that reason this game makes me nervous.

  15. \

I don't like this one bit. I've been amazing my wife for the past few years by telling her what play they're going to run when the QB sets.

Now she's going to think I'm stoopit.

I care for my 87 year old father, whom is afflicted with dementia and his short term memory is all but gone. Last season he could tell you what they were running next pretty damn effectively. Sadly I'm honestly not writing this to be humorous, this is a true statement. It's pretty safe to assume opposing defensive coordinators were well rested on Buffalo week, they probably laughed theirselves to sleep.
