  1. In general the SEC is the best conference, but this year the Pac 10 is the best overall conference. The SEC has 2 very good teams and not much after that. As for your point about Locker: I agree that he should stay in school for another year, but with the o-line he plays behind and the potential for a new rookie salary scale, it is probably best for him to come out. I think it is 50-50 at this point.... I am hoping he does come out because this year would be the only chance for the Bills to get him, unless they somehow manage to be even worse next year. I just think he is an excellent prospect and is a great fit for the Bills in every way. I will leave you with this from the chat this afternoon with everybody's favorite ESPN "expert": patrick (STL) Mort- Do the Rams draft QB in 1st round or take the dominant Suh at DT. What would you recommend the Rams do to rebuild this franchise?? Chris Mortensen (11:02 AM) If the Rams have the first pick, I believe Suh will be the likely choice, unless there's a strong conviction about Sam Bradford, Jimmy Clausen or Jake Locker. I am told that NFL personnel folks who attended Locker's UW game vs. Cal on Saturday were blown away by his performance. Someone told me, "Taller Steve Young."
  2. So where exactly did I say to neglect those other needs? The most important position on the team is the QB. The Bills badly need a QB and will be picking in the top-10. This is a good time to finally solve this problem the right way, especially in a year when the OT crop looks pretty weak. And you can throw all the stats out there that you want, but Locker has had to do it alone against good competition. Do you really think Bradford or Clausen would have been better than he was in his situation?
  3. Awesome post!!! Statistics always tell the whole story.... In my opinion, Locker is the best QB prospect for the Bills by a wide margin. I don't think most of you understand how bad his supporting cast is. He plays on a team that won zero games without him last season. This season they won 5 games in the best overall conference in the country, and they came very close to winning several more. There is no doubt his game needs more refinement, but the strides he has made in only 1 season playing in a pro-style offense is amazing. He has elite physical tools and is also a tremendous leader. His accuracy issues are overblown. When you have no line to block for you and WR's that drop a ton of passes, you will not have a great completion percentage. If you have any doubts about the kind of player he is track down a copy of the Cal game from last weekend. Your questions will be answered...
  4. Pretty sure he would be fast enough, but his football smarts and instincts would make up for any lack of "speed" he may have. The great thing about McClain is that he should be able to play any LB position in any system.
  5. Poz is average at best. I am hoping the Bills can somehow land Jake Locker in the draft, but LB Rolando McClain is my second favorite prospect at the moment. I would love to see him in the middle of the defense. Good article on him today... http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/columns/stor...&id=4619628
  6. Locker is the guy the Bills should pick, even if they have to trade up for him. This team needs a QB and Locker would be the best fit in Buffalo out of anybody in the country. He would probably benefit from another year playing in college, but with the NFL labor situation and what happened to Bradford, I can't imagine he goes back to school. I just hope they have a real shot to get him.
  7. Are you being serious with this Tebow stuff? We are all entitled to our opinions and I have been wrong plenty of times, but it blows my mind that you actually think Tebow would be a good pick for the Buffalo Bills in the 1st round. There are so many things wrong with him as an NFL QB prospect that I wouldn't even know where to begin.... The Bills already have a mediocre QB. My feeling is that if they can't get an "elite" guy they shouldn't spend a 2nd or 3rd round pick on some second tier prospect. A few weeks ago I felt it would be best to stick with Trent and build the rest of the team. I have changed my mind on that because I really don't see Edwards as having the mentality or durability to lead this team anywhere. He got off to a good start this year, but as soon as things went wrong he completely lost his confidence like he did in the Cleveland game last year. And now he is hurt again. So I am hoping the Bills have a shot at a QB in the 1st round. There are only 2 guys in this draft worth taking that high for the Bills and that is Locker or Clausen. I prefer Locker, but would OK with either at this point. The draft is a looooong ways away though.
  8. Worst....List.....Ever!!! If Locker enters the draft he will be the 1st or 2nd QB taken and is #1 on my Bills QB wish list. I also want to see some more of Pike. Cincy is playing a good South Florida team Thursday night on ESPN.
  9. OL, DL, or LB. Anything else would be foolish. I am not completely sold on Trent, but I have no reason to believe any QB in this draft would be a better option than keeping him and improving the team around him. He played very well in the first 2 games and was running for his life this Sunday. Any QB would have struggled behind a line that got owned as badly as his did. Oh, and the idea of drafting Tebow in the 1st round is ABSURD. He is not an elite NFL QB prospect and I would not be surprised at all to see a position switch in his future. I know a lot of people think otherwise and I could be proven wrong, but that is how I feel.
  10. What about the game against NE when they got called for pass interference on a hail mary and Bledsoe hit Ben Coates for the winning TD on the next play to win the game? Not positive, but I think was the same game where the refs gave NE a key 1st down on a play when the Pats player did not catch the ball and was short of the 1st down marker.
  11. Brohm didn't give up anything by going back. Just because some media types said he would be a top-10 pick does not mean that is where he would have been drafted. For example, these same media types pegged Andre Woodson as a top-5 pick during his senior year at Kentucky and went in the 6th round. Players need to go through the "draft process" before anybody can really say where they will be taken. Until you can get accurate height, weight, and speed measurements on people, as well as the medical reports to go along with the real film evaluation we can't say where a player will go.
  12. Excellent Post. My problem with Vick being allowed back is that he has yet to "prove" anything. He was locked up for 2 years or so, how does anybody know if he has changed his ways? I think he needed this year off to prove that he can be a law abiding citizen. Oh well, as long as he doesn't land in Buffalo I don't really care too much.
  13. I agree. Hatton is as tough as they come and seems to be in great shape, but Pac is just the better fighter. I think Ricky is going to catch a beating tonight and be a bloody mess before the end of the night. I am actually heading to the fight in a little while. The atmosphere is going to be insane. Pac in 9! I know you have been given props already, but that Maybin article was fantastic. I hardly ever post on here, but I was one of the few Bills fans out there who was 100% against drafting Orakpo. The more I learn about Maybin, the more I feel like my stance was justified. Keep up the great work.
  14. Tim, Simple question for you: Pacquiao or Hatton? I also want to thank you for the introduction to the word "droptastic". I plan to use it as much as possible.
  15. I don't know if we can really say this anymore as the Bills drafted 2 bad character guys last year in Hardy and Ellis. Also, everybody in the organization knows they must win this year or they could be out of a job. This may cause them to be a little more willing to value talent over character.
