What's weird to me is that the Chiefs continue to roll out turbo-boosted smurfs at WR, and yet they somehow continue to produce at a high level in the playoffs. They doubled down on the strategy this offseason, signing Hollywood Brown and drafting Xavier Worthy.

Why is it that all they have to do is press our guys and play really physical with them, and it makes us change our whole team philosophy at WR, but we -- with our defense-minded head coach and frequent top five regular season defensive rankings -- somehow haven't figured out after four years of playoff battles how to slow THEIR small fast guys down?

This is a very expensive 35 catches, 565 yards, and 3 TD's over 14 games.

Maybe OBJ has one or two more 1k years left in him, but he is running on fumes.

Could be, but at WR 3 I'd guess those days are behind him.

    I wouldn't. I expect it.

As I said before, Beane talks out of both sides of his mouth *constantly*. I've had egg on my face around here numerous times taking him at his word. It's common knowledge and a talking point around the board that Beane lies (as do all GM').

So why are we so willing to take his word as gospel now? Especially when the hole is so obvious and in my opinion, the only real spot on the roster that needs an addition - when we have over 10m coming in a month?

Him not taking more than one WR in the Draft doesn't mean what you think it does, in my opinion. As I stated above, we came into this Draft with everything in our core covered - save for 2 Starters on the Outside.

We took one in Coleman at 33. But with what was available at 60 and beyond, you weren't getting a replacement for the other side. Nor do I think they'd have wanted to start two Rookies, even if they could.

Anyone Drafted at 60 or beyond would have only served to replace Justin Shorter (and whomever could potentially beat out Shorter) on the bottom of the roster, behind Coleman, Samuel, Shakir, and Hollins. They wouldn't have filled the hole we had adequately for this season, so they didn't bother.

The top remaining veteran FA (or someone who becomes available via surprise cut or manageable trade) can fill that role now. And I'd be shocked if he left it bare.

It won't be Tyler Boyd. Or Hunter Renfrow for that matter.

The hole is on the Perimeter. Boyd is a PURE Slot. We have more than we need there with Samuel, Shakir, and Kincaid. Adding Boyd would just crowd that room more and remove reps from all those guys - while still leaving a gaping hole on the Outside needing to be filled.

You make a great points about Beane and his double talk. I also agree with the need to get a true X, so I see what you're saying completely. I think with the cap and the roster the way they are I am "ok" with the idea of a rebuild or transition (whichever term Beane is using right now) so I'm that I'm rolling with watching their actions and not their words. I hope this makes sense.

Not to mention the fact that the establishment was back open today for regular business hours as if nothing happened the previous night.......crazy stuff.

Dang. It's like business as usual in America. Sad. We had a kid shoot a security officer in the head 20mins from me at a football game this year. I try and tell my kids not to live in fear, and I truly mean it, but it's just so hard to live my my own words

Happened in Sanford....about 20 miles from where I live.

Local news said the shooter was a 16 year old kid, and the "event" that was taking place was billed as the "No one leaves sober" party......what a world we live in.

There's so much wrong with this

16 yr old with a gun

16 yr old at a nightclub

No one leaves sober... so hop in your car a drive home drunk and possibly kill someone that way.

I responded to the ludicrous statement you made. And now you are pissed because I responded the way I did?

Honestly, I don’t even get what the hell you are saying. It makes no sense.

I'm not pissed. You're saying I made some Hot take. I'm saying clearly that if the Bills didn't have Josh then the coach and GM would be gone. What's not to get?  Look I'm just trying to talk Bills not argue. Have a good night. If you want to talk and not project I'm down for that.
    I'm being sincere here....

Do you think Buffalo would be as good of a team the last few years with a lesser QB?  I honestly do not. I think there are a few QBs out there that would keep the Bills respectable though. If we missed the playoffs the last few years I honestly don't think we'd have McD as the coach. There's already been a ton of Hot seat talk with him coaching a contender.
    What do you think?

Pretty much every coach/GM that took Rosen or Daniel Jones would be fired. How is that some profound statement concerning McDermott or Beane?

Here’s another hot take….if the Bills selected Tony Eason ahead of Jim Kelly the Bills never would have reached a Super Bowl and Marv Levy and Andre Reed wouldn’t be in the Hall of Fame.

Ok not everything everyone say is a hot take. I took the first two names of underwhelming QBs that came to my head. The type of QBs that this team was littered with for about 20 years. I think you understand the heart of my statement right?  I'll make it plain. If we didn't have Josh playing at QB this stand not be what they are so in turn neither would McD or Beane. Instead of trying to trash people how about sincerity and conversation. Just a thought.

Can Shakir handle that load and responsibility? A lot to ask for Diggs in his prime, not so much the second half of last year.

Good question. But Shakir has to be better than Diggs (last year) if fed the ball just as much right?  Maybe not BUT maybe. It'll be fun to see. Man I hope so.

I’m honestly ready for both McD and Beane to be gone. I don’t trust them to properly utilize all of the draft picks they have next year. This is going nowhere. It’s just being kept afloat by Josh Allen.

I don't think this will be a popular opinion by many but I do see where you are coming from. I can easily see it from both sides. Yes they've brought us out of mediocrity but that's really it. If we had Daniel jones or "the right josh" they would be fired by now for sure.

Haha yea admittedly idk if it makes sense with the cap in this coming season…maybe we could extend them and take a bigger hit when Diggs comes off the books

I think doing it post June 1st would make it possible

I'm very interested in whether or not they make a move at a WR post June 1st but looks like right now Buffalo is stacking picks for next year. Maybe patience and get through this year is what we need. No choice but to trust they know what's up.
