He has played as much outside as in the slot. He's the only real speed on the team. If Coleman doesn't improve Moore will get a lot of snaps outside. He's not just Shakir's backup.
I agree... Shakir and Palmer are starting. As of now I have Moore as the other starting wr... Coleman has to prove he can be better than last year to beat him out.
I don't understand the complaints here. A wr in his mid-20s with high end speed. He's not Jefferson or Chase... but his 61 catches would have been 2nd on the team last year by a wide margin. Nice add at a weak position for a relatively cheap price.
Ugh... hate this seldom used garbage... even people with their nose in it every day don't seem to know how it works. I messages Capaccio on X for clarification.
I thought that too... IE, why wait if we aren't getting a comp pick anyway? My only thought was, since it's only a couple days, if Moore is fully on board, terms agreed etc, why help the Browns get an extra pick? It'd be one thing to wait until June or July. But if you agree with the player on Tues and just have to wait until Thurs to make it official to screw a conference rival out of a pick... I'd wait the two days. I hope I am right anyway.
Capaccio on the radio this morning said the tender the Browns put on Moore meant he could sign for any amount with any team. But that if he signed before May 1st it would count towards the comp pick formula, but after May 1st it would not. So, my guess is sometime tomorrow or Friday we will hear Moore is being signed to an incentive laden contract that hits the cap as less than the Browns 3.4 tender but has easily met incentives that will make as much or more than that.
If nothing else this guy may make the other guys on the team work just a tiny bit harder on conditioning so as not to get embarrassed. That alone would contribute more than most #90 roster players.
One suggestion I saw was a Boogie Bashum for Kelvin Beachum swap. Seems to make logical sense for both teams. AZ gets a cost controlled former 2nd round DL and loses a 34 year old OT who was pushed out by a 1st round pick. Buff gets a significant upgrade in experience at swing OT and a true plan B to Brown. Money works. Which all, of course, means it won't happen.
We should be all in this year. 35 year old All Pro DE, Two All Pro Safties in their 30s, All Pro wr about to turn 30, Pro Bowl LB a year from 30... there is no reason not to go all in and try to win one before we inevitably need a new core around Josh. Get Hopkins, (and another DE BTW).
Even though i do give up our 2nds in both the next two drafts, this may be my favorite I've done so far. To not give up a future 1st and come away with Booth, Dotson, HALL, McCollum, Araiza, and some real quality OL help... I would be thrilled.
