Thanks for the list.  I am not so sure OBD keeps 11 DBs on the 53 man roster as none could move to IR temporarily.

I'd reduce that by one and add that spot to the Oline as you have only 8.  Have to believe Mancz makes it over Van Roten and Doyle stays with the 53

Generally agree. I only have Mancz and Doyle off the initial 53 for injury considerations. McCloud is the last roster spot and probably wouldn't survive until the opener if Mancz/Doyle is ready or if in the likely event they sign somebody else.

  2. Appearing something like:

    QB - Allen, Keenum

RB - Singletary, Moss, Cook, Jones

    FB - Gilliam

WR - Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, Crowder, Shakir, Kumerow

    TE - Knox, Sweeney, Morris

    OT - Dawkins, Quessenberry, Brown

G - Saffold, Bates, Hart, Van Roten

    C - Morse

DE - Miller, Rousseau, Epenesa, Basham, Lawson

DT - Oliver, Jones, Settle, Phillips

LB - Edmunds, Milano, Dodson, Bernard, Matakevich, Spector

CB - Jackson, Johnson, Elam, Benford, Neal, Lewis

S - Hyde, Poyer, Johnson, Hamlin. McCloud

    ST - Ferguson, Bass, X

Guessing White, Doyle, Mancz, and Stevenson to injured list(s) and Smith suspended obviously.

I'll probably go to my grave convinced that we lost our 5th Super Bowl on a coin flip.

Rest easy. They lost on a boneheaded decision by the head coach and a smoked (overrated) defense.

  4. It goes beyond this week. OL has remained a concern since they neglected it at draft. Saffold/Bates/Quessenberry/Brown have pitfalls. Fingers crossed Morse can stay consistent and healthy. Didn’t like the Elam pick from day 1. We shall see if the youth strategy at #2 corner proves more effective than Beane’s vet flops. Fan presumption that roster is iron clad is wishful thinking.

Sorry for not keeping the comedy going, but I wonder if,how and when can they protect guys on the p.s. I love Mike Love and I think Alec Anderson will turn into a good Guard. Of course I like others , but how many can you protect?

I think it’s 3-4 players protected per week. And no cap on number of protections per player.

Rachad Wildgoose might get cut from the Jets, I wonder if we'd bring him back since he only 1 year removed from being here.

I only see them signing a veteran CB and even that seems unlikely. White to PUP. Elam and Benford will rotate series with Jackson. Johnson in the slot obviously and Neal ST. If they sign anyone, it needs to be a significant upgrade over Cam Lewis at bargain price. That’d be tough.

  7. He still doesn't seem fully recovered from the injury, perhaps never will be. I bet they've shopped him with no takers. Morris's injury mucks things up a bit, at least regarding tomorrow's initial 53, so I think Howard makes it.

Beane stated several times that they were letting Matt go because they "thought it was best for Matt"...not once stating that they were doing what was best for the Bills organization. While I have always liked and respected Beane from what little I've seen and heard, that seems at the very least an obviously disingenuous statement.

Get over it. Did you really expect genuine statements? It’s all posturing. Having caved to public pressure, Bills are toting a company line in order to balance cutting a guy based on unfounded (and non-criminal) allegations vs. empowering players and maintaining the locker room. It’s calculated. It’s business.
