At the very least, it's time to break McBeane apart. If not both, you have to either fire the coach or the GM, each decision having valid arguments. You need a new voice and a new set of eyes. And if you change the GM, the new one can no longer be McD's puppet.

Big nothing burger as this content provider has no team access, just throws out opinions like , well like an anatomy part we are all born with. Compare this type of drivel to quality analysis friom Eric Turner , owner if cover 1. It’s worthless clickbait and I wish him luck at his real job as that podcast is one of the least reliable , unqualified “ content providers “ , I have seen. Hey , just like him, it just my opinion, as a fan , certainly no expert. ( tho I have followed the bills for 50 years , so I might even have absorbed more insight just by reading TBD!)
Mainly uses others info to just then add his own insights , and I’m sorry , some have journalistic training and talent , and some have a podcast just because anyone can! TBD is miles ahead and mostly , far less annoying as the website can’t wear a hat backwards and drink while broadcasting. lol. Sure seems like a nice “ dude “ , bills fan , but does every fan need to try to cash in with podcasts from their kitchen table ?
As long as bills are winning , clickbait will flourish, and it’s no wonder the franchise really protects its intellectual property. Watched several times to give it a fair chance , but if you want to do a podcast full time , work at it , get training , get education. Most jobs have minimal required abilities; the content industry hasn’t caught up. We can’t all be natural talents who beat the odds like macafee and the yins guys. lol. When Mcd or Beane tell us about Edwards , then we’ll know facts.Personally , have never heard anything NEW on that site ; it’s more reactive to issues , so if you need another reactive opinion and can’t form one yourself , then this might be worth the twice daily effort ! Or if you just need a buddy , this could help fill the need!
Best bills info is here , shout, cover 1 with Eric and ant , bbs own with brownie / taster and days the nfl film guru Greg Cosell is on or with orlovsky. Buff fanatics is entertaining, overreaction with fina and ostroski is insightful, yet fina seems to hold back to maintain being in the bills good graces. Ostroski is not afraid to be honest. . Buffalo plus is an up and comer and well produced with great chemistry with the 3 pro tv people, Dan , Jenna, & Mike . Sal and ove are pretty good but Sal , imo , is overexposed. Eric wood has promise. Really like longs pod ( green light?) about the nfl with great guests and fan interaction. Bills mafia with Tommy and Mikey is very friendly. ( Tommy recently lost his mom so always good to support and help in that terrible grieving time). What do you guys think? Market is really saturated. Would enjoy your input and favorite content creators choices. ! Go Bills.!Well it's not like those with access to OBD are exactly free to speak their minds. The team tolerance and response to criticism is comparable to that of the Chinese Comunist Party. Press conferences at OBD are the most robotic, uninformative, and boring I have heard in decades of following a dozen different professional sports.

I see him as a supercharged Shaq Lawson. Re-signing that kind of player while increasing his cost base ain't the path to a championship.

What would it cost the Bills to include a swap of kickers?
At this stage, for a team to take Bass you'll probably have to start with Josh and 1st as the negotiation platform.

Way too many and too big question marks (WR, pass rush, safeties being the main ones) to realistically expect them to make that elusive next step. Luckily, the division may still be within reach which makes another trip to the playoffs likely.

On the other hand if that's the teams biggest need, think we're in pretty good shape then overall!
They are in no way closer to a championship team than they have been in the past 4-5 years but to each their own, I guess.

With a multi-dimensional threat like Josh at QB, it's hard for offensive teammates to be catastrophically bad. Then again, how far is that top 5 in the conference, paired with a defense that seems to lose its mojo come playoffs time, supposed to take them?
Sadly, there is quite a gap between "don't suck" and championship caliber.

The build is very similar to Carolina. Constant resource allocation to the front 7 on defense in FA and the draft. The numbers are staggeringly similar in terms of drafting.
In the TEN drafts where Beane was in a senior role in the Carolina front office (2008-2017) the Panthers had 69 draft picks and spent 20 of them on front 7 on defense. That is 29%. They had 28 picks in that time in the first three rounds and spent 12 of them on the defensive front 7. That is 43%
In the SEVEN drafts Beane has been GM in Buffalo (2018-2024) the Bills have had 55 draft picks and spent 14 of them on front 7 on defense. That is 25%. They have had 21 picks in that time in the first three rounds and spent 9 of them on defensive front 7. That is 43% (identical to Carolina).
Is worth saying at this point that defensive front 7 is around 30% of your starters, so those numbers should be seen in that context. But Brandon Beane is building his team the way he witnessed it done in Carolina. He tells us himself he will never apologise for prioritising the defensive front. And he is as good as his word in that regard.
Interesting stats, although the Bills do not have a "pure" front 7, which means they put even more emphasis on these positions in Buffalo.

I'm afraid Hamlin has no trade value whatsoever.

Why would anyone want to pay $925 million dollars (and probably be asked to help with finances for the team) and have no say in anything?
Even billionaires make idiotic decisions. I mean, some may argue that owning multiple entertainment businesses in one of the most economically depressed regions in the country may be one of them.
There is a remote possibility that some billionaire may bite for vanity purposes alone.
However, it's much more likely that any such deal will have to include the possibility to buy a majority stake some time down the road.
Yet another scenario would be buying the rights to build some corollary business around the new stadium, but that would also be an idiotic decision as outlined above.

That's the reality of this roster. It's Josh and the Kalahari desert after him.

No field is perfect. Show me a player who doesn’t prefer to play on grass.
Soccer is the biggest sport in the world, and they manage to play all of their matches. Europe gets extreme weather too
When it comes to soccer, as far as I can remember, not many European countries get soo much snow, and those who do, like the Scandinavian and NE European countries, follow different calendars to the central and southern European ones, having their championships starting around April and finishing before the end of November.

If you’re not going to trade up, then why trade it all
People like you that just want to change for changes it could easily go south on us
It's quite the opposite, actually.
It's people like you who believe that only a 3-time SB winning coach in his late 30s or early 40s would be an upgrade on this HC.
No one is saying that our coach is trash, but as long as this team has Josh Allen, it will be relatively easy to improve on McDermott's constant blunders.
It's ridiculous how he always seems to find a way to let this team down when it really matters.

Yep. So tired of the “Who are you going to replace him with?” response.
The same people that are totally fine with McD's recurring blunders become the most demanding perfectionists when it comes to replacing him.

Is there a chance, however slim it is, that this can lead to the Bills being able to dump him and his contract with no long-term salary cap implications?

Why would you dislike McD as a human being? You literally dont know the guy personally.
Not sure if you are purposely playing dumb or just like to state the obvious.
Obviously, no one on here knows McDermott from a personal life perspective.
As a public figure, he sounds more and more like the ultimate hypocrite. Preaches accountability but doesn't want any, advocates a somewhat blurry concept he calls "the process", which I guess would imply continuous improvement, yet constantly shows he refuses, can't, or is too stubborn to learn from his own mistakes.
I guess that's what people are growing more frustrated with, rather than what he does behind closed doors in his private life.

Yes. Let’s compare a lineman to the most difficult and important position in sports.
That's not just a lineman. It's a LT, arguably one of the top 3 most important positions in a football team. The guy in charge of protecting the fella playing the "most difficult and important position in sports".

Great point! But if McD is in trouble, you go there and make the offense hum, and they win a Super Bowl, McD gets extended. You still get a HC job, but not with Allen.
Well, I agree with that statement, but if you're going to have a winning football team, you're going to have dogs on the team, and the dogs want a dog to lead them.
And, in fact, until this season, Allen's teammates said he was a dog.
If 'dogs' are what we are lacking, how about sending McBeane a memo. Less choir boys and more dogs when it comes to the draft and free agency. Or does this dog thing apply to Josh only?

Josh put in the work to improve during the off season his 1st few seasons. He played well and significantly improved every year
the last 2 seasons he hasn’t , instead focusing on enjoying life, playing golf, whiskey, etc. And guess what? He’s regressed.
To be a true great, he needs to want it even at the expense of enjoying life. If not, expect more of the same.Just to make sure I understand your reasoning.
If, in your view, Allen deserves some blame for his real or perceived lack of commitment (in spite of perhaps needing some summer rest after playing somewhat injured most of last season), I guess you would have cut a guy like Dawkins a few years ago then. I mean, as a veteran player at a premium position, he has made a habit of putting in even less off-season work.

Yes, nothing wrong with it, but it's not ideal wiring for a quarterback. Diggs doesn't want a QB who doesn't share Diggs's passion. And it's the unusual well-rounded person who drives himself to excellence.
If the fire isn't burning hot inside him, then Josh almost certainly is the wrong guy.
Tom Landry wanted to start Craig Morton, because he had all the tools, and he stayed on script. He didn't like Staubach because he was less talented and his passion for playing took him off script sometime. Staubach's passion got results that Morton couldn't (until one season when it all fell together in Denver).
There has to be fire.
Allen, who, by the way, is at an earlier stage of his career, is a better QB than Diggs is a receiver. End of subject.

Agree with what's been said above, but also its clear that he's lost a lot of his former humility.
He now likes to "big league" his callers. Because as we know, since he travels with the team and stands on the sideline during games, he's actually a real part of the NFL, which he refers to all the time as "this league" like the true insider he is.
Someone should remember him that the "process" is about being "humble and hungry".

He sat Cook for more than a quarter after the fumble. Cook WAS THE ONLY BILLS PLAYER TONIGHT. Did they think they were good enough to punish Cook and not lose a step on the field. Didn’t bench Davis. Didn’t bench Allen. Just Cook.
He is a textbook hypocrite. Preach accountability but it's only for some, and never for himself.

You simply can't get through the entire playoffs and win a Superbowl if you routinely fall short in clutch situations.

Holding the same talent level while increasing the cost base is never a good move.
The big bet here is on the player improving and taking that next step in his development. Not very likely for a DE entering his 4th of 5th season, especially when you consider that the part of the game where he is lacking is the one real talent is born with.
