The Bills brought in so much DL help that's SOMEONE is going to make a splash. This defense is going to be a lot better.
What the Bills did not do this off season is make a big splash roster move. I don't think they needed to, but I think that's probably how some people measure the prospects for improvement a team might have

The Bills thru the eyes of an Eagles fan site
SB Nation is the parent organization of Buffalo Rumblings, a web site cited from time to time here at TBD. They have fan run sites for all NFL teams. This is an article looking at the Bills, one of the Eagles' opponents in the 2025 season. I thought it was interesting. Essentially, they believe that Buffalo did precious little to change the team after yet again failing to surpass the Chiefs in the playoffs. The is a reference to the old adage about the definition of insanity "doing the same thing over and expecting different results. No mentioned by name, the article says Buffalo brought in old injured veterans (Tre White, and Joe Bosa) and "warm bodies" (Josh Palmer and Elijah Moore?) at WR. No mention is made of Buffalo's focus on defense in the draft.
So, are the authors right - Buffalo is destined for another playoff run that will again fall short, or are they underestimating the potential effect that newcomers could have on the team?
My own perspective is that Buffalo's near misses in its attempts to reach the Super Bowl are not a reason to go into a full scale rebuild. The relatively minor retooling that the Bills have done is due in part to salary cap constraints and an effort to preserve the team's long term outlook, rather that "blowing the wad" on a one-time effort to get over the hump. I think there is still reason to believe that small changes could be enough to give Buffalo the improvements they need to not only get to the Super Bowl, but to win it. They were not that far off.

So if I’m reading this correctly, it was fully investigated and he was not criminally charged. Could he still be suspended or placed on the dreaded list of Roger?
The burden of proof is different for civil lawsuits as opposed to a criminal trial. If it is a criminal trial a conviction should only be made if a crime is proved beyond a reasonable doubt. If it is a civil trial, a decision is made based on a preponderance of evidence. In other words, if it seems more likely that he did it than not, the judge will find for the plaintiff. Roger Goodell will do whatever he feels like.

Several more years ranked as a top four QB or better will help a lot. Another couple MVP awards would be nice too.

It you can't get excited about watching the team that's going to win the Super Bowl, you can't get excited about much of anything.

They take a bit of time off every year around this time.

Glad I could help give you a great experience here! BTW, I like it here too.

Billy Joe Hobert didn’t study the playbook because he never expected to play….until he did. It was a hilarious disaster.
And a former defensive assistant turned WGR sports announcer liked to call him Billy Joe Gunrack.

I'm skeptical. Buffalo is depending on rookies to make the D-line work. Those rookies (Jackson, Sanders and Walker) may work out and be terrific, but until we see them on the field in games we're not going to be sure that the Bills have elevated their defensive line to anywhere near that level.

I think the majoirty of the 2nd round is not signed and its because of guarenteed money amounts.. When the top few picks of Rd 2 are signed I think the dominoes will all quickly.
https://www.acmepackingcompany.com/2025/6/23/24454327/green-bay-packers-news-unsigned-2025-rookies-nfl-draft-second-roundersThirty of the thirty-six unsigned picks are in the second round according to the article. Simple math says only 2 are signed. I would guess most of the remaining six unsigned picks are first rounders.

I'll pick one for offense - Kaden Prather, and one for defense - Wande Owens. We heard good reports about both in the OTAs and mini-camp and both have the requisite lack of notoriety from their college days and the pre-draft process.

The explanation I've seen is this: A few picks before Buffalo, New Orleans picked a QB, Tyler Shough. Shough was not a highly regarded QB and he is 26 years old, but the Saints liked him. Moreover, the Saints may be in a position where they have to start him. The only other QB on the roster with any name recognition at all is Spencer Rattler. Well, Shough decided that while he can't ask for the big bucks of a high first round pick, since he is the de facto starter on a bad New Orleans team, he could hold out for a fully guaranteed contract. Agents for other second round picks got wind of this (agents talk to each other all the time) and decided to wait things out because if Shough can wrangle a fully guaranteed deal, perhaps they can do the same for their clients, or at least get significant chunks of guaranteed money.
Hence, it's not Sanders being difficult, it's just agents doing what they're supposed to do, trying to get their clients the best deals they can.
Anyone hear anything different or have another take on it?

I think Jim Harbaugh is a very good coach. He took the 49ers to the Super Bowl. He won a national championship at Michigan. In his first year as the Chargers HC, he made the playoffs. He wins wherever he goes.
I agree, he is a very good coach, but he is far removed from his days with the 49ers and college football is not the NFL. Making the playoffs with the Chargers confirms his coaching ability, but it's not the same as making the playoffs year after year like a certain other coach has done.

People keep giving Stefanski a pass for the train wreck that is Cleveland. Yeah, they have and idiot GM, but without evidence on the field you can't justify ranking Stephanski with the best coaches in the league. I question Tomlin's ranking as well. Yes, he's had success over a long tenure, but the last several years, the Steelers have tended toward mediocrity. I don't like the Jim Harbaugh selection either. Yeah, he's a good coach with some history before he fled the NFL for Michigan, but PFF seems to buy into the Harbaugh mystique and bluster instead of looking at recent history, because he has precious little.

Thanks, Buffalo 716. I don't pretend to know the technical intricacies of NFL football, but your explanation matches what I understood to be true. The offensive systems (at least today) are languages. They may have at one time carried philosophical implications, but not so much anymore. For example, the West Coast offense was geared to more of a short passing game, designed to spread defenses out horizontally. The running game was more of a change of pace tool to keep defenses honest. Now, it's more about the philosophy of the head coach/offensive coordinator. There are West coast guys that like to run the ball more and guys that like to run it less, and guys who like passing the ball deep and those who don't, sometimes depending on the skill sets of the players. You can run any play in Erhardt-Perkins that you can run in the West Coast and vice versa.

Whatever works. . . The defense Buffalo uses usually works versus the Dolphins. Tyreek's rants don't do a thing. Buffalo's defense, particularly its secondary, will be better in 2025 than in 2024. Tyreek Hill is not getting any better or wiser. He's just getting older.

I think the odds are better than 50/50 for a Buffalo sweep of the division. The wild card is New England as Drake Maye showed plenty of potential last season and will be better with a year under his belt. Mike Vrabel coaches a tough physical brand of football that has on occasion given the Sean McDermott led Bills fits. On the other hand, I think Buffalo itself has made a concerted effort to become tougher and more physical.

There is like a population of more than 10 million people in the Jets' market area. It doesn't seem to me as if there is much financial risk to the team in buying back tickets. Then again, I would not have thought that season ticket holders would have much trouble reselling unwanted games for at least the original price.

You have to remember, the movie is 10 years old. Hailee was 19 at the time and was dressed and made up to look probably two years younger than that.

I feel like I've known Hailee for years. I saw movie on a free streaming channel called "Barely Lethal" in which she starred as a teenager who was trained to be an assassin. While finishing an assignment, dangling on a rope from a helicopter with the villain above her, She is cut loose and plunges into the water and survives. She never wanted to be an assassin and uses this as an opportunity to reinvent herself as a normal teenager. Anyway, she was cute as a teenager, but no raving beauty. Incidentally, the villain was Jessica Alba.

A hamstring pull isn't ideal though...the fact it sounds like he's walking ok is good, maybe it really was a tiny pull that doesn't make future ones more likely
It's a matter of degree. A bad pull/tear can take months to recover from fully. From what Beane said, it sounds as if it is a pretty mild tweak. I don't think it is anything to worry about.

Yeah, it's hard to believe that the Bills would have him around on the sideline if there was any suspicion it could be a torn ACL. That would seem to leave a pulled ligament or muscle.

Buffalo has WRs who block. Blocking does not present a particular injury risk for running backs, but slowing an onrushing defensive lineman by half a second could be the difference between a big pass play and a hastily thrown ball that falls harmlessly to the turf or worse, into the hands of a defender multiple times during the season.
