  1. I know that the Bills have some leverage with Cook given the way the CBA works, but, given his actions, Cooks seems to want to separate now from the Bills and I have a feeling that he will try to force his way out of Buffalo before the start of the season.  The wild card here is whether any other team will be willing to pay him anywhere near what he is seeking, which seems to increase with every new report.

  2. Of course none of us want this to be a distraction to the team or have any kind of an impact on the goals of having a great season and winning the Super Bowl, but as a fan, I am excited to get to see the players, coaches and management of this team in this way (i.e., seeing what is behind the curtain).  Given the overall focus of our front office and coaches on acquiring players with character and leadership qualities, I expect that the players will show to be professional and likable.  I also hope that what appears to be a strong team culture will be evident from this season of Hard Knocks and elevate the general interest in the Bills (both in terms of more fans and player interest in being a part of it).

  3. Agree that this season for the WRs will be about whether Coleman develops.  I assume that Palmer will be one of the two boundary WRs, but I am not sure he can be counted on to be that given his role and prior production with the Chargers.  I have doubts that Coleman can be a #1 WR (or even a #2), but we will see.  Shakir is great and I expect Samuels to be more effective this year.  The question marks are the #1 and #2 WRs.

  4. The Bills don't seem like the type of organization that would tell multiple players that they will select them if they are there in the first round, so I do mostly believe Williams.  Would have been an interesting draft if it had worked out this way because a bunch of the CB prospects were available in the second round (and generally drafted later than expected).  Maybe would not have needed to trade up.

  5. If Grant, Harmon and Nolen were taken before we picked in the first round, I was hoping we would draft Williams.  It didn't work out this way, so we will end up with a DT prospect that is less recognized. The way the draft unfolded, I think taking Williams and then taking a CB could have worked out well since a number of highly rated CBs would have been available in the second round, but we are where we are.

  6. Interesting how the Bills keep a tight ship about who they like and draft plans.  Maybe they would have drafted one of the top DTs if available, but very few mocks had them taking Hairston.

Bills have a big need at DT, particularly with Ogunjobi out for the first six games and Carter disappointing last season.  Not sure any of the DTs left will be plug and play, but whoever they draft will need to be able to be at least a rotational player this season given our lack of depth.  I am not optimistic.
