This is a laughable homer piece. The Jets could very easily start the season 0-8 and even go 0-10 if they can't beat Pats at home or the Dolphins. They could be a 4 win team at most. Despite the wishful thinking here, the Bills will handily beat them twice.

He was a thorn in our side through the 70's but we had some great battles in the 80' and 90's. He was a true titan in the game.

Roger looks like he is about to fall asleep on his recliner right now. He looks like he is trying to be "Everynman" and it is working. Tomorrow he will be eating a burrito and drinking a Bud light at some point. For a guy that makes 30 million his, basement looks like it could be in South Buffalo.

The San Francisco Giants just laid off 1200 employees. Things are happening all over the sports world. The good news for the Pegulas is that if the NFL plays (and there is a good chance it will in some form), they will get TV revenue regardless of fans in the seats. That is a ton of money and will sustain things, I would bet, since that seems to be the cash cow. Many employees would likely be rehired.

I think the difference is found between the ears. Josh has that competitive drive and is more resilient, where EJ just lost all confidence when things didn't go as planned/anticipated.
Agree- when the chips are down, Allen thrives. He doesn't give in. He has that Jim Kelly spirit in him. How many 4th quarter come backs did he engineer last year? I know it was a 3-4. Manuel never had that in him.

He was a good guy, but I hear a lot of excuses there. Even when things were not adversarial, he just didn't perform. Look at Josh Allen in comparison. Manuel had the raw talent on par with Allen and had a bigger pedigree coming out out of FL State than Josh Allen has, but those guys are light years apart.

Sorry if this was asked somewhere else but what happens to player contracts if unfortunately there is a lost season? Would Diggs new deal start in 2021?
I was wondering the same thing.

Speaking of training camp and the off-season. I would think teams like the Bills have an advantage being that McDermott is going into his 4th season. Same OC/DC so the players know the system and schemes that are in place. Team has already built up a lot of chemistry with one another which helps considering they won't have much time on the field now. No mini-camp, rookie camp, OTA's. Diggs while a vet will probably need some time to develop chemistry with Allen and the offense in general but he will probably get there quickly. I would imagine every team will have a hard time getting their draft picks up to speed with so little practice time before the season though.
At the other end of the spectrum is Giants rookie HC Joe Judge going into his first year in what will be a major rebuild. It's hard for a first year HC in a normal offseason but with this being difficult times it only makes his job that much harder.
That is an interesting observation and likely very true. The preseason will be very tough for an early stage rebuilding team with a new coach, especially if much of it is virtual. It will be strange times for all teams though. The virtual draft will be interesting. I'll miss the fat Jets fans all standing and booing no matter who they pick.

I think there will be a season and it will be on time. Training camp and pre-season will be in jeopardy or happen in some different fashion, but the regular season will happen on time. In the vast majority of the country, this thing has already peaked and I see a steady, but slow return to normalcy over the next few months with summer being relatively close to business as usual. The only way it is postponed is if we see this thing spiking in the fall again, but I believe there may be better and widespread testing and treatment to prevent the wholesale panic and unknown of the last few months. I can't see people going for another shutdown again like we are in, though. I think people are more likely to try to tough it out for their livelihoods and they will want entertainment. With widespread quick testing (which is rolling out now), it'll be easy- test positive and you can't go to the game or work. The one big challenge is the players themselves. If a player contracts the virus and then brings it to the rest of the team, you could have a scenario where a good chunk of the team is a mini-hotspot and is out for 2-3 weeks. That simply would not work. There would be zero fan/player interaction (i.e. the first ten rows of stadium would be empty) and the players would be basically isolated all season while they played or something along those lines. There is enough money at stake that someone will come up with a plan.

how do you determine who gets to go?
Testing. Once the widespread and quick testing starts up, you can determine easily who gets to go. If you test positive, you don't go to work or get to go to the game.

I was there- it was freezing cold but sunny I think. Can’t remember the game much but recall it was a close one. Definitely not sold out.

Also I believe he is under contract for 17M.Saw that after I posted and read a bit more. I wonder if there is a way to re-structure? I don't know how the business side like that works. Putting that piece aside- I think he'd be a great fit.

I'd bring in Andy Dalton. I'm surprised I have not heard rumblings that we have tried. It's a natural fit. I think the only concern might be that Dalton still feels he should be #1. If that isn't an issue- why not? He is already loved in Buffalo and he seems to love the city back. It seems all too obvious. I'd feel infinitely more comfortable knowing he was on the bench in case Allen gets injured.

New fan here, i’m from France so It’s complicated to find a attachement with a specific team.
I started following the NFL in 2011, i watched a ton of different teams but i never found the one who made me want to stick with them.
I’m a Raptors fan in the NBA, the fact that the Bills is the most popular team in Toronto, the Bills Mafia, and the snow bowl are the 3 reasons who made me decided to be a fan. ?
You are coming in a good time

Makes way more sense from an attendance perspective. The Bills could count on Pittsburgh and Cleveland fans filling in seats during lean years. It would also be a lot better from a rivalry perspective too as we could build that with Cleveland and Pittsburgh. I think the main barrier to the Bills moving out of the East was Ralph Wilson who liked the Miami rivalry even though it waned and doesn't have the meaning that it did long ago. I would be happy to have that realignment even though I would like to have New England in our division so that we can exact revenge on them for the last 17 year.

I see the floor at 9 wins and the ceiling at 11. Take the bet

Agree with everyone that says the route to playoffs is winning AFC East. We had a shot this year and with the decline of the Pats, we can really take control next year.

Everyone will pay their part but it seems like there won't be any drama. I'm guessing we get a big reveal on stadium plans around training camp time or season tickets time.
The NFL better plan to pony up too. It’ll be a mix of state, county, NFL and the Pegulas that will get it done.

In San Francisco with the new Chase Center, the PSLs are expensive but the holder of the PSL gets paid back after like 30 years, so the fans are basically giving the Warriors a no interest loan.
-
Whatever route they go (and it will be resolved soon it seems) Goodell better be ready to hand some money over from the stadium fund. I think teams get like $200 million or so. I know that was a figure thrown around for San Diego's failed bid.

Not surprised and could care less

Glad the Bills don’t have to face Garoppolo for 10 years in New England. He is not Brady but good enough that we’d not be able to take over the division like I forecast we will. Usually, the Pats make good personnel decisions, but this was a blunder.

Boston Globe writer insults Bills. Predicts Fromm will start over Allen.

Arrogant attitude based on past laurels. Pats are in decline and the Bills are on the rise and he knows it, but can’t come to grips and he has to pander to his readers. At season’s end dig this drivel up and throw it in his face.
