Was Haskins actually driving or was the women driving and was she sober? I ask because if he was driving this wasn't a tragedy but a tragedy avoided. Or am I the only one who thinks that driving down the highway this messed up is attempted vehicular homicide? And that the real story here is that innocents didn't get killed by Haskin's deeply irresponsible act?

I haven't seen any reports saying if he was driving or not but I'm guessing the assistant was driving. It probably wouldn't be possible to drive any period of time without crashing if you have a 0.25 blood alcohol content. Pretty sad this happened because the assistant didn't put ***** gas in the rental vehicle.

His appearances at fullback were too rare too be meaningful. 14% of snaps.  He's not on the roster for that.

Most teams don't bother with FB/H-back.  Sweeney had twice as many snaps.

Gilliam is quite versatile, Bills coaching loves that so I think he makes the team.

No team in the league should trade for Baker.  He shouldn't exist to any team looking for a QB the Browns signed Watson believing they'll just trade Mayfield.  Hang up the phone.

Make the Browns figure it out.

And I no longer wish to call the Texans a tire fire of an organization.  Maybe they knew there was a lot going on with GM Watson.

    Total scum bag.

Nobody is going to do any favours for Cleveland after this trade and contract, can't wait to see how the Mayfield situation works out.

Agreed on the props to the Texans, amazing the haul they got for this clown. He's clearly got some issues whether he's found guilty or not.

I'm sure Lombardo woke up yesterday and thought to himself, "I think I will just make up some s*** about Boogie Basham today..."

Don't you see, that's the genius of it. If he had said Josh Allen, you'd know he's making it up.

Lack of depth is notable. Hopefully Miller can stay healthy and productive, but behind Rousseau, there isn't much. Really could've used that 4th round pick on Edge (or IOL obviously).

Beane has said they would have picked Khalil Shakir with the forth rounder if it wasn't traded away. Basham was a second rounder last year and barely saw the field, a 4th round edge would likely never get a chance.

Usually when the Bills recruit and sign a veteran free agent they treat that person with respect. It often seems the team wants to do well by the veterans. I expect Crowder will be a Bill for at least this year. I feel like they wouldn't have signed him just to cut him. That said I have a hard time seeing both Zack Moss and Duke Johnson making the team and that's a similar situation so who knows?

I would say Crowder and Duke Johnson is a much different situation, Crowder is actually a very solid player and we got him for an insanely good deal, he would need to have an awful camp to get cut. Duke was unsigned for most of last year and was likely just an insurance policy if we didn't get James Cook in the draft, so I think he's an easy cut if they want to keep Moss as the RB3.

Nice summary, OP. A good review of what to watch during training camp.

Interesting to think about what might happen with Moss. I think Beane has faith in him and is looking for him to rebound this year. But if he looks sharp in training camp and preseason, could we see Beane move him for a future pick to a team that gets snagged by the injury bug?

I think Moss makes the team over Duke. Moss was coming off ankle surgery in the 2021 off-season and he was likely bothered by that for much of the season, thus his disappointing season. Maybe he looks much better after having a healthy off-season going into 2022. I don't think he's that great to begin with but they still spent a third round pick on him so he has that going for him. I really think Duke was just a pseudo signing so teams didn't think the Bills were after James Cook in the draft.

And I agree, great post OP.

How do you feel about Justyn Ross and Kevin Austin?

Given we don’t “need” Ross to be on the field a ton, I’d certainly be willing to take a flyer on him.

Kevin Austin gives me some Gabriel Davis vibes.

Kevin Austin missed all of 2019 for a suspension of undisclosed reasons. He looks really good and tested well but if there’s any character concerns then he’s probably off the Bills board.
