  1. This one is funny:

"Open up the Buffalo Bills media guide from the year McDermott took over, turn to the bio on the new coach in charge and you’ll find a Q&A breakout box. A fun way for people to get to know the coach. McDermott is asked for his favorite TV show (“Monday Night Football”), the person who has influenced him the most (“Jesus Christ”), favorite movie (“Vision Quest”), favorite vacation spot (“Kiawah Island”) and his favorite musical artist (“Michael Jackson”) amongst other inquiries.

The final question is the most interesting. Right next to a picture of a young McDermott pinning down a competitor on the wrestling mat, he’s asked for his pet peeve.

    His answer: “Fake people.”"

    Michael Jackson??? Lol.

I heard stories about that....they were all true?

I hate to say it, but that is too many people in Buffalo. Insecurity around outsiders and trying to cut them down to size.

  3. This article just describes something we basically knew instinctively. That McDermott is a rigid, fearful, tense, micromanager who is making his team miserable and costing them losts of wins with his mental mistakes late in games.

And the assistant coaches and players feel it.

Remember McDermott's handshake with Daboll at the end of the Giants game--maybe the frostiest handshake I've ever seen between NFL coaches--and then Josh Allen's super warm interaction with Daboll right after?

    Tells you the same thing.

  4. I paid the 8 bucks. I think the picture of McDermott it draws explains a lot of what ails this team.

Stuff like this doesn't need any quotes from people who got fired to be on point:

"As pressure mounts this season — as fans correctly deduce that the head coach is the problem — it should come as no surprise that McDermott has tried to pin this disappointing season on the offense. After Mac Jones, one of the worst QBs in the NFL, drove 75 yards in 1:46 to win, plenty of shrapnel was reserved for the Bills offense. After losing in Cincinnati, he pointed to the line of scrimmage and the lack of run-pass balance. After the Bills squandered a lead with 1:56 left to Denver, McDermott ripped Allen for an interception and said he was “proud” of his defense all in the same answer."

  5. The thing that makes it tough is the uncertainty.

The Bills could miss the playoffs, or win the Super Bowl this season.

And because we’ve pulled defeat from the jaws of victory so many times, we can’t even relax and enjoy games where we are winning anymore.

    We’re on tenterhooks here.

We have played them so many times the last few years at arrowhead I honestly could not remember who won that game until I looked it up. Hopefully we get sugar rush Kermit.

I know. The two games we won there, 2021 and 2022, were blurred in my mind till this week. The losses are all clear memories though 😭

If you guys are going to redeem this season, you've caught KC it a good time.  We got problems.

We both have problems. One difference is that we’re two games out of a playoff spot with five to go, and you’re in your customary seat with the best record in the AFC. Yet your season point differential is +67, while ours is +101. Depressing for us.

They haven't won it all because they make critical mistakes at key moments in games too often.  Full stop.

    "They" is the coaches.

One of the Eagles said about the Bills D in OT,  "we couldn't believe the defense were in. When I saw that I knew we had a TD." Tells you something about McD's defense in crunch time.

I watched the Defense totally change its approach in Philly last week in the second half.  I was at the game and the defense went from pressing to off coverage and the defense went from dominating to doormat. I had been ambivalent about McD until i witnessed this. Totally baffling and basically took the foot off the Eagles neck and gave them a hand to help them up. The D he is calling when it matters is losing games.

    THIS.

Compare to how Green Bay defended Mahomes with the game on the line.

Safeties were back, but CBs were right up on the receivers! Pressing. And it worked.

I do not understand how McDermott does not see this!! Instead he plays off and gets shredded, and calls blitzes at the worst times.

In trying times like these, my late mother would have said "Just be thankful that you're not a Patriots fan!"

So, we get Josh Allen trumpet lessons?
    🤔😁

Ha. Your late mother sounds very cool. Maybe Josh should play the trombone, with his arm strength?

Or, we win the Super Bowl and everyone is happy as clams :)

  11. Only 14 months ago, the Bills played the Chiefs at Arrowhead. Both teams were 4-1, it was a rematch of the titanic 13 seconds game eight months earlier. I rewatched. What I didn't remember about last season's game is the amount of resilience Buffalo showed, how many times the Chiefs had a big play but we just. kept. coming. back.

Start of the game, we drove the field to their 14 yard line, when McKenzie fumbled a lateral pass from Josh. Big momentum change against us. But later in the first, the Chiefs drove the field to our 9, where Mahomes drifted, drifted, let fly for JuJu... and was picked off by Kaiir Elam. Second quarter, Mahomes ran around for 7 seconds, threw back across the field for Juju, who broke a tackle and went for a 42 yard touchdown. We fought back: with less than 20 seconds left in the half, Josh Allen threw a technically perfect rainbow for a 34-yard Gabe Davis touchdown, who was one-on-one with a rookie CB.

The Chiefs drove the field in 15 seconds (MCDERMOTT! GRRRRRRR), and Harrison Butker hit a 62 yard field goal against the wind, as time expired in the first half. Traumatic return of the 13 seconds problem. No matter. Third quarter, Josh Allen threw a SECOND perfect rainbow, this time from the 17, for a touchdown for Diggs. No one who watched this game could call Josh Allen anything but one of the best and smartest QBs you'll see.

Chiefs came right back and got another TD pass to JuJu. We fought back AGAIN: after a clutch drive with a big pass to Diggs, and then a sick Josh Allen power run with a clean leap over the defender for the first down. At the two minute warning, Allen hit Dawson Knox with his third superb touchdown pass of the game. Still lots of time. But Von Miller who had two sacks got a good pressure, Mahomes threw a little off balance, Taron jumped it for the INT. Game over and a great defensive stop to end it.

You could see how this team, under Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs, is resiliient as hell. I felt really proud of them.

Then thought of all they have overcome since, so many great players going down, a near death on the field, and so much more. Refs who call ABSURD intentional grounding on Allen among many other issues.

Most of all, this team somehow keeps fighting hard despite coaches who time and time again put them in bad positions, don't adjust to opponents and make it so much more difficult to win close games.

These players can go all the way.

A lot of things could be in play in that last game.  For example, maybe Miami avoids playing us in the wildcard game—and instead gets Pittsburgh or the Colts—if they lose to us…in which case, maybe they sit some guys.

They would also love to knock us out of the playoffs!

Even if we win four straight heading into Miami, it’s a huge game for us.

Win and our playoff chances are 99%

    Lose and they are 46%

why the "X".  i didn't stipulate which 2 games they lose for 50%.  so sue me.  Lawyers who wants a gig?

By not “stipulating” two games as losses you’re just leaving them undecided.

    So your percentages are wrong.

It’s not 50% if they lose two games, it is much, much lower: 3% to 7% depending on which two they lose.
