  1. Drunk text vibes.

in all seriousness, it really is an awesome site and is still in my daily routine, it has been since Todd Collins was a topic (though I don’t remember what the hell happened to my first login). I don’t post much now, but I’m here a few times a day.

A few weeks ago my wife saw me looking at it and said something about how I’ve been TBD’ing for “like 20 years.” She’s not wrong.

  2. Quite honestly, I remember wondering whether they spent the night before hitting the sauce. From the first drive, I was apprehensive. That might be unfair of me, but they seem to show up entirely different when playing on the edge of where they’ve been before.

Still happy with the ride and looking forward to it all again. I have no reason to believe this season won’t be as successful.

    Block Gina from Delaware  please

I don’t post here often these days, but this deserves a specific call out. Yes, immediately change when she pops on. She’s the only caller that I recognize — and I’ve been listening for years. I just can’t with her.

@Simon damar gets lost in wash, Douglas is dumb. And Williams just gets swallowed.

There will be a +10 point in the bills/ravens and losing team probably plays flat. I can't expect a blowout. I think both teams play close to chest.

See above.  Rams to the SB too

They do, random knowledge. 23R I think is the only one.

Yeah. 5/23 is the longer one, KBUF doesn’t have a 23R since there aren’t enough runways to need L/R designation.

The loading at takeoff would be more of a concern (but I only fly small planes, so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt or two), but it’s just shy of 9k ft so that should be fine.

It should be pretty simple for an entity like Ticketmaster who has been doing it for decades and owns the platform. But they still messed it up because, well, theyre the only game in town.

But you cant trust any ticket other than TM right now because they are in control of the whole show and have already "reclaimed" tickets twice.

Ticketmaster’s tech is actually super impressive. They’re almost entirely a tech company at this point, given most sales are online in some fashion. They had some cool clustering stuff even 10-15 years ago or more.

This one smells of an intern enabling codes days too early, coupled with intentional single use “codes.” Which FWIW always seemed to me like everyone sharing the same damn passwords.

I however have tickets and seats on a jet, so good to go here again!

    How are tickets ‘clawed back’?

I presume they use computers and that the software isn’t overly sophisticated and that they were the exclusive seller at 10am.
    I mean, there’s been computer-generated reserved seating/ticketing since the 70’s, right?

Same thing happened to me. Here’s the text of what they sent. Apparently they activated the “BILLSMAFIA” and “CHIEFSKINGDOM” codes before STH, and tons sold and hit secondary at warp speed. I bought and had no idea that’s where my tickets came from.

It’s more of a TM eff up than it is an “unauthorized code”, but here we are. It sucks, but STH now rightfully get first go. If it were any other business, I’d expect them to do a “make it right”, but I don’t see any potential for that here. I guess I’ll wait and try again in a couple days. Son of a…

I’ll also make sure to go with a competitor to TM next time.

    Attention Ticketholder,

The tickets you purchased were acquired by a buyer who used an unauthorized code. As such, your tickets have been canceled and your card has been refunded in full. You should see the refund processed in seven to 10 business days.

    AFC Championship Game
    Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA
    Sunday, January 29th at 6:30PM

You may have an opportunity to purchase tickets at a later time, subject to availability. Please visit your team's site for further onsale dates/times.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Better to have it early in the year than late.   White will be back in two weeks, and hopefully they get Dane Jackson back soon as well.

I agree, and I promise I’m not being a downer or a jerk, but unfortunately it isn’t the case that they can’t happen later as well.

I find a bit of comfort in knowing the second and third stringers are getting the reps early, getting a better look, and are more of a known quality. Thus, if needed later as well…

All you need to say is "I have a back injury and need to lean forward" and they would have left you alone like you had a bad case of herpes.

    Not a bad idea.

Leaning forward in a seat is not something I’m even aware to pay attention to. It’s obnoxious because you need to be self aware that you’re leaning in a *^*}% seat at a ^}*+^% hockey game. I did it like three or four times, but never intentionally, just because like… moving in a seat is something I’ve never had to check before.

It’’s not natural to sit back and relax. I had forgotten entirely about that stupid rule.

Those who don't like standing for the game would love seeing a San Jose Sharks game. The ushers come right down to you if your are leaning forward in your seat. You have to have your back on the rear seat rest. If you don't, repeat offender, or refuse, you are escorted out. I was told to lean back. Asked why, usher gets on the walkie talkie, two more ushers come down, and tell me if I didn't sit back right now, I would be asked to leave.

I saw the Sabres there a few years ago and this blew my mind. When I’d lean forward, due to you know, hockey excitement, either an usher or the people behind me would tell me to lean back. I didn’t stand as I had no reason to… but leaning!

  10. I’ve paid attention since about 1985 or so, really got in during the run. Born into it, but actually started caring around the first grade. The first thing I remember is the KC championship during that run. I don’t really have a favorite player? I know that sounds odd, but the team is more important.

My forum name is just the first two letters of my last name followed by my first! It’s not my first though. I lost that one, but I do remember discussing Todd Collins on this board, so there’s that!

My wife was wondering why they're called the "Bills" last night. I explained Buffalo Bill Cody. It's easily one of the weirdest sports team names. Like naming a team the "Jeffs"

I will be starting a petition to rename the Bills to “the Jeffs” immediately. Best idea I’ve seen this evening at least.

  12. He came down here for a surf, headed to Bells. I surf the other side of the bay so was unlikely to see him in the lineup. Had mates from Torquay that I was telling to look out for the Bills QB...

Bells was the first -- and only -- place I've ever surfed. An undertow Maynard would be proud of.

  13. I'm 42, and the last real excitement this team gave me, I was still a teenager. When I think about that I'm like, wow!

I haven't posted here in probably a good four years, mostly because life gets in the way. I still read every day.

That said? You, sir, have driven me to come out of my cave and post. I had this exact same thought last night, with a five year shift on the age. I'm 37 and the last time they were actually worth much of a damn? I was 16. Slowly post-Polian downhill from then on, never to dig themselves back out. I was 20 when that whole backwards lateral thing went down.

  14. I'm a TV guy now. The stadium crowd usually isn't my cup of tea these days, and that's fine. I like attending games, but I just don't have the patience for some of the stuff that goes on there these days. I enjoy keeping my fat ass on the couch with a good IPA or six.

It's not that I have a problem with the people at the games, I hope they're having a great time. I'd just rather not deal with it.

  15. gailey and fitz are cumulatively going to give me an aneurysm one of these days.

Great time to try that wildcat hail mary pass though!

I'm more concerned w/ Fitz than I am Chan. I'm too damn lazy to pay enough attention to tally it, but I'm curious how much yardage we lost to Fitz' powderpuff arm.

Edit: Just to be clear though, we're still talking about Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dumb. Just, given the choice of a better option today, I'd take a different QB.
