Yes, but Davis’ reception percentage, drop rate, and interception issues stayed consistent poor his 4 years.

In the roll of a #3/4 he was useful, as a #2 he was in over his head skill set wise, Davis should never been put in the #2 spot, he was more useful when he was going against teams 3rd or 4th CBs,

Now that the dust has settled, I’ve really looked at the statistical production of some of our guys.

I knew Shakir had a good year, then I really looked at his production.

    He had a PHENOMENAL year.

39 catches and 2 TDs are decent numbers for a ‘#3 WR,’ but can we talk about his 86% catch rate? That is outstanding. Caught 10 of 12 in the playoffs for 2 more TDs as well.

282 Yards after catch? Love it.

    15+ yards per reception.

    133 QBR when targeted.

    Ready for this?

45 targets. Zero interceptions when Allen looked his way.

57 targets when you add in the postseason. Still zero INTS.

Fifty Seven targets. Zero drops. Zero. ZERO. Bills were in the bottom of the drop statistic this season.

I don’t think Shakir should come off the field. He’s the slot WR and should be the #2 WR target.

I’d love data on if he lined up outside when the team went to 2 WR sets after Gabe’s injury, or if he came off the field.

Shakir has shown BIG TIME potential, and it’s the little things that hint to it.

    Thoughts?

Remember when Davis was the third/fourth option, he was a potent part of our offense with good results, when he became the #2 not nearly as dangerous a weapon, mostly because he was planned for more frequently, and his lack of separation skill was exposed. Now Shakir is faster, twitchier, and gets separation far better than Davis ever has, so “potentially he has the skills to be better in the #2 role. It is my opinion that having big fast high quality route runner at #2 that will draw coverage away from Diggs, and will create one on one match ups with all our receiving option is the way to go, it give the offense a lot of flexibility in scheme and play design, and puts defenses in a pick your poison situation, and that can only be a good thing, jmo.

It's only a matter of time before there's a sports scandal involving players bribed to throw a game.

Yup, not that the NFL cares, the league/owners own the gambling houses, just as long as the money keeps rolling in.  It always amazes me that so many wage earners so eagerly give billionaires their money, (and not just through gambling),  being that the vast majority of gamblers lose to the house on a regular basis, oh well…,

  4. Special teams is the red headed step child of the NFL, no one likes their STs they are players that are not good at their primary roles, so ya get what ya got when it comes to this 1/10th of the team. Ya just hope they don’t totally Fuh k up when they are on the field.

He said teams today talk about winning but they don’t want to give someone the authority to build the culture that’s necessary to win. He said they like their own culture and don’t want to change. Is that us? Do we just like what we have? Change is hard and takes work. Lombardi said majority of teams are just content to stay how they are and not put into the work to win.

Humans being what we are…,  in any discipline there are only a few who don’t sit pat and truly are innovators,

  6. I think Sean is an above average HC, but if we are honest with ourselves its been the defense that lets us down the majority of the time, our Defense from the get go, and Dorsey’s marginal play calling skills for a season and a half  bear the brunt of the failures, I can only think that if for a change they went big on offensive weapons for QB 1 things would be noticeably better, they have been whipping the dead horse (so to speak) for defense long enough, what’s that they say about  definition of “insanity”…,

The #Bills are starting their offensive coordinator search in earnest, and interim OC Joe Brady will interview for the full-time job, per source. Brady acquitted himself well over nine games as the play caller, and Josh Allen has vouched for him getting the job.

Josh vouched for Dorsey too, and that didn’t go so well, it’s good to get his opinion of course, but he should not be the deciding factor for who gets the job, jmo.

Good hire for the Chargers but people thinking this somehow makes them a Super Bowl favorite he literally went 8 years at Michigan without winning a bowl game till this year.

True enough, he might very well be gone in three ish years if he doesn’t have success, conversely he might do very well,  ya never can tell, it’s the nfl after all, sh-t happens…,

  9. WTF people! Everyone knows he has been playing injured, {abdominal injury} for quite some time now, i would have thought all you fuh  king geniuses knew this by now…, that and we have limited help around him, which you would, again,  think you bloody geniuses had picked up on at some point or another…, JFC people get your heads out of your  - - - - - and pay attention once and a while…,

Yes, if the Punt God was a receiver of Hill’s caliber, he would be in the nfl. If Big Ben wasn’t a SB winning qb and Matt Barkley, he would have been out of the league.

    you’re just realizing this?

Of course not, I am pointing out the blatant greed and nonsense that is the NFLs hiring model, it’s ironic that so many hold the nfl up as an image of the good America, yet the nfl is the epitome of greed, which rewards some of the worst people to make their living off of,  and by “their living “ I mean the owners, who are the nfl,  ironic no?  It’s not that me you and everyone else isn’t hypocritical at times, it the heights to which one takes the hypocrisy…,
