  1. Great post. I agree with pretty much everything. I really liked a lot of what I saw from Josh Allen yesterday. As someone else mentioned, he wound up with the 2 interceptions he deserved to have on other plays. Overall, though, there is noticeable improvement in his game. His pocket awareness looked improved. His touch on deep balls looked improved. He had one throw in the 2nd quarter that he floated over a CB to the TE Sweeney. It was very impressive. And, of course, his legs are gonna be a huge weapon. Not just in picking up 1st downs and TDs but in escaping the pocket and finding open receivers. The defense is gonna give us a chance to win 9-10 games this year and make the playoffs. I'm still not sure we are quite there yet on offense. However, this defense is high quality. Point #4 in the OP's post is the key one: its all about the wins and losses. A week 1 road win vs a divisional opponent is a massive W. Doesn't matter how ugly it may have been. Now we've got a chance to start 2-0 with the Giants coming up. It's a big boost for the team going forward.
  2. A few thoughts on this pick: 1: It's great value. Many expected Ford to go off the board before this pick so to get him at 38 is a great start. 2: To me, it fills a need. I know some people are saying we loaded up on free agent linemen but you can't rely on cheaper free agents to fix your offensive line. Mitch Morse? Yeah. Ty Nsekhe? Maybe. But the other guys? I don't know. I think it's a huge toss-up on if they're good enough solutions for 2019. Especially at tackle. 3: I would bet Ford gets the first shot at being the starting RT considering he was the right tackle at Oklahoma in 2018 and was a high pick. If you have a chance to find a young solution at tackle then you'll try everything to make it work. Dawkins and Nsekhe compete for LT with Dawkins the heavy favorite due to his youth. All one man's opinions but.... 4: Overall, I feel a lot better about our options on the line knowing that Ford is now in the mix. Our o-line was just terrible last year(ranked 26th by PFF) and having a bad o-line is a great way to ruin a 22 year old QB. We had to go to great lengths to fix it this offseason and I think the front office has now done enough. There really are a lot of directions we can go with the line. It's exciting!
  3. They said Ed Oliver and Kentucky's Josh Allen are represented by the same agent as Khalil Mack and there might be bad blood there for the Oakland front office. So the Raiders didn't feel comfortable taking either player and had to reach for a Dlineman that should have gone much later.
  4. There are a TON of great prospects left on the board. The first round went great for us. I wouldn't be shocked if we traded up a few picks to make sure we land the guy we like. Can't be afraid to give up one of our later picks if you feel that strongly about a prospect. We've got decent depth. We need more big time players. For me: DK Metcalf or Deebo Samuel would be my favorites if they're there at 40. I'm a big believer in waiting for OL help til rounds 3-4. Take positions that require more skill in rounds 1-2 unless the prospect is just that good. I don't see an OL prospect that is worth taking over Metcalf or Samuel. There are good players at OL. Taking Risner or Ford wouldn't bother me much. However, I think a guy like Metcalf or Samuel would be perfect for us. CB would be an interesting route to go. One underrated way to help Josh Allen is give him a top tier defense that keeps the game close and asks a little bit less of him. Like the Jags and Blake Bortles in 2017. Not comparing Allen to Bortles. Just pointing out how a defense can help a QB. Of course, the oft used example is Trent Dilfer and the Ravens.
  5. Hey all! New to the forum. Used to be a Rams fan. I pretty much gave up on the team when Kroenke bought the LA land in Jan 2014 and especially when the Rams took Greg Robinson with the 2nd pick in 2014. I could only endure so many awful top 5 picks. With that said, we did take Aaron Donald with the 12th pick that year and the Ed Oliver selection by Buffalo reminds me so much of that pick! Crazy productive, undersized DT from a smaller D1 program. A guy you know should have went much higher. We all loved the Donald pick in St. Louis and I'm glad to see everyone in Buffalo loves the Oliver pick. The Bills hit a home run with Oliver. Not only did we grab one of the top 5 players in this draft but we filled a big position of need. There's no greater draft day feeling than getting a steal and filling a need all at once.
