Playoffs, if it's a year in similar record to this year you need to start questioning the head coach and the staff he's assembled. Given the schedule and state of the division it should be a 10 win season minimum. If Allen doesn't progress and the defense doesn't continue it's stout play there's a problem.

Maybe Gettleman was the trigger man?
Not funny, like at all. Poor taste actually.

They can, but NFL teams are risk averse and most of the best coaches work in the NFL, so they aren't available for private tutelage. I'm sure that Jordan Palmer is good at what he does, but is he the best? This thread is only pointless for people without reading comprehension that took it as "Ermergerd, He's saying Jackson is as good as Allen!" That's not the point of the post at all. The actual point, which is 2 QBs with the same athletic abilities and similar stats go to the NFL. One never wins in college in a weak conference but gets drafted 7th overall and the other wins a ton in a weak conference but goes undrafted. If those things don't make up the difference, what does? It's not arm talent, speed, size, strength, or winning - which are all things people commonly consider when drafting QBs.
You’re not a scout. Teams put on the tape and obviously saw Josh Allen had the arm strength, footwork and throwing motion to put it together at the next level. He also obviously nailed his interviews, board work and background checks.
If you draft based on the stat sheet you’re gonna end up like the Raiders. Or us before Beane.

New England can draft whoever they want, that's a .500 at best football team without the greatest quarterback of all-time. They better plan on getting another one or they'll be in for some long years.

It’s actually impossible to not love this pick.
Unless you’re one of the three other teams in the division.

Ford is an absolute mauler and a steal in the second round. He was a universally graded first round pick. So happy we got him.

Slow. Small. Religious.
Waste of a pick but at this point these are all marginal guys.
No WR or pass rusher to develop yet. But at least they aren't taking unathletic guards with no hope of making the team.
I'm about the furthest you can get from religious and never have been, but how is one being religious a knock against them as a player? That's absolutely mind boggling.

We're in a good spot with the cap, you never want to be right up on the edge of it. Beane likes the buffer zone and I fully expect us to keep it.

Silver spoon Rosen will be like Brady Quinn. Bounce around and then out of the league doing something that doesn't require as much dedication as football.
-
Needs weight or he’ll be bullied by guys five inches shorter than him. Ball skills don’t matter if you can’t break free from the corner. He went undrafted because there are guys closer to a successful NFL receiver in body type. Stats are a bonus.

Coy Wire reminds me of those hideous block jerseys we had all those years.

We need more offense.
Rodgers will take care of the offense, your defense with Pettine is going to be stacked next year.

Not this year. But look at it this way. With Barkley and Anderson backing up Allen, there is no expectation for either to challenge him. But Jackson is young and could challenge Allen in a year or two.
A 7th rounder is going to challenge the 7th overall pick? He'll be lucky to be on a practice squad next year.

Loved this guy at Florida, he's a violent linebacker that controls it and plays within the rules. Could use another 10 pounds or so to get to that desired linebacker size while maintaining his speed. Only problem is his inconsistency, but that can be fixed.

Thank you! At least there's some of you out there who realize that we have a legit WR corps who have different skill sets and alot to offer. Shady/Yeldon are elite receiving RB as well! We have plenty of legit options in the pass game
And again , the major improvement of the OL is probably more important than any WR we brought in or could have brought in!
Exactly, and in all honestly what are the odds of even taking a receiver in the 6th or 7th rounds and having them become an elite number one wideout? I'd rather they follow the board and go BPA which is what it looks like they did.
This wasn't the best class for receivers either considering where all the "top guys" ended up going.

There's our receivers!

A third round pick thread is almost as big as Ed Oliver's, and 90% of this one isn't even about the player. ?♂️

This just in... we have good receivers on the roster already!
Sad that the board doesn't realize this. Thankfully Beane is our GM.

If they're all franchise QBs it's gonna be annoying for the other divisions as they're gonna lose their wild card spots to the AFCE ?
-
It's amazing the amount of crying going on here because we didn't take a WR in the 6th round. Get a hold of yourselves, for your sanities sake.
-
Oliver if playing at his combine size is good, if he plays below 280 which some said he did last season could be an issue. I don't think he'll get that low though and I expect him to be an offensive line wrecker for the next decade.

Reading some of the posts in this thread you'd think he signed a Le'veon Bell contract....

Metcalf would be such a Raiders move. Great measureables, mediocre tape.

Frank Gore is finished and Shady could fall off a cliff any minute in production. It’s a great pick for the future of this franchise at the running back position. The wide receivers obviously weren’t that great considered we passed on them.
