  2. I do not want to trade for anyone else's headache...

Stay at 28 UNLESS you can go up and get one of the big 3 OR  if Brian Thomas drops down to around 20, then go up and get him.

IF stay at 28, Xavier Worthy.  Then in the second round, get whatever X receiver you can get...  all the rest of the picks can be defense except for 1 OL

We need a field stretcher.  I don't care if he only runs fly patterns all day and doesn't catch a ball, his speed has to be respected and makes problems for the defense which Shakir and the TEs can take advantage of.

After the Bills hopefully target a WR in round 1 such as Xavier Leggette or Xavier Worthy, Safety may be a position addressed in round 2 or 3.

I think Cole Bishop is an intriguing prospect.....he has a lot of McBeane traits, but I'm not 100% sure he would be a fit in McD's Defense, but definitely worth a look. He may be a better fit in the Taylor Rapp role.

    What do you think??

    From Bleacher Report:

Cole Bishop is a multiyear starter with very good size for a safety at 6'2" and 207 pounds. He's an instinctual player with a high football IQ and the versatility to play all over the field. He has the physicality to be a box player and the movement skills to cover in space.

While playing the run game, Bishop excels when he's close to the line of scrimmage. He uses his instincts to identify and react to the run with very good short-area quickness, and he closes on the ball with very good angles. He's a strong tackler who does a good job of fronting up and running through the ball-carrier when in the box, but he tends to dive and have more inconsistent tackling when on the edge. Bishop is a downhill player who does a great job of attacking the line of scrimmage and playing close to or in the backfield.

As a pass defender, Bishop has shown the ability to drop as a deep defender, where he is able to play the routes in front of him and react to the ball in the air. When defending intermediate routes, he has the ability to play man coverage, using his short-area bursts to get out of breaks and drive on the ball.

Bishop does his best when playing as an underneath defender, where he can pass off receivers and has over-the-top help. He is a short strider with some stiff hips, and he struggles to turn and run. He's slow to climb and gain growth, which may cause issues in the NFL.

Though Bishop has versatility within his game, he lacks true scheme versatility. He's best as a box defender, so he'll fit best as a strong safety who can occasionally switch up his look as a deep defender. Bishop could carve out a successful NFL career if the right team selects him.

I have faith that McDermott can make a 6th round Safety a usable piece of our defense than our offense can help Josh with a 6th round WR.

Josh needs weapons at WR and we need big uglies all over the place on the offense and defense.

I'd rather get a WR in round 1 and a DE or DL in the 2nd round.   Worthy and Sweat DL would be awesome for this team IMO.

An edge rusher is high on Buffalo's wish list with the potential departures of Leonard Floyd and A.J. Epenesa. Robinson fits the mold as long, projectable edge rusher.

    DE's before 18:

    8. Atlanta Falcons: Dallas Turner, DE, Alabama

    11. Minnesota Vikings: Laiatu Latu, DE, UCLA

    15. Indianapolis Colts: Jared Verse, DE, Florida State

    5 WR taken before 28:

    4. Arizona Cardinals: Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State

    6. New York Giants: Malik Nabers, WR, LSU

    14. New Orleans Saints: Rome Odunze, WR, Washington

    17. Jacksonville Jaguars: Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU

    26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State

Go up to 16 and get Brian Thomas.  Dude is a freaking monster...

You have absolutely no idea what their plans are

This is putting KC in a win/win scenario.

Let Sneed's agent go out there and find a team that will trade for him and give him $$$.  KC will probably get a 1st and a lower round pick for him.

IF Sneed can't find any takers, well, resign him to a long term deal...

Worst case scenario, nobody wants him, can't resign him and your stuck w/ the Franchise tag on him.

When are Franchise tag designations need to be turned in to the NFL?

Maybe you get the deal done even before you have to tag him??

  6. This is all still a carryover from when Brees was there and they were contending.

If they would have been smart, they would have blown up themselves last year, fix the cap problems by resetting themselves and get the #1 pick in the draft....

    -------------------------------2 separate thoughts--------------

Carr, towel boy in cleveland, and denver's terrible QB they benched last year were all traded for... hahahahahahaha AND they got PAID!!!

The NFL is filled with a bunch of idiots. :)

  7. I think the most important question to answer is: when the game is on the line do you want the offense or defense to be on the field?

For me, I trust Josh Allen the most on this team.

Give the man weapons all over the field to throw the ball to.  3 Legit WRs to worry about is what we need.  Give him a solid OLINE for once and see what he can do.

    10 Picks

1st round: either WR or DT (Sweat).  That dude can play and is worth waiting to the 2nd round to get a WR if we can get him.

If we don't get a WR in the 1st and we get Sweat, then we go WR twice between the 2nd-4th rounds.

We also need a Safety to start that transition.

After that... BPA, prob mostly on Defense.

Do not need in draft: QB, TE, K, Punter, RB, LB

I believe a certain deep ball was on that drive, no?

+4 is a lot different than +3 with less than 2 left.  The chiefs had been running it quite well in the 2nd half, which they probably still could a little bit but maybe 1 or 2 plays.  With less than 2 left, you can take klein off the field for practically the entire drive.

Well, you take a shot down the field if you have an advantage there.

Buffalo's last offensive drive of the year was very methodical. which we have done many times this year, with great results alot of the time.

KC is just a different animal.  I want the ball in Josh's hands at the end of the game.  JMHO on the end of the game.

The real Super Bowl MVP was Chris Jones. Not Mahomes.

He is also an unrestricted free agent, and the Chiefs refused to give him a long term deal next season.

It would take a lot of moving money around, but do you make a play for the game changing stud?

29, plus Sportrac says he's worth about 28MIL/yr.   Pass.

Can we pay him a grand to make sure he ends up in the NFC though? :)

I see what you're saying - but at the same time, i want to avoid overtime at all costs.  A TD at least puts a next level amount of pressure on the chiefs, while overtime they can operate at whatever pace they want.  Buffalo had maintained a solid TOP advantage in this game so they would've been rested, and 1:45 takes out their running game (which had been very effective in the game).

I think the last 7-8 minutes of that game was totally mismanaged by Buffalo.

When we got the ball w/ 7-8 minutes left we should have hurried up and moved down the field as fast as possible.  Hopefully getting a TD with about 4-5 minutes left.

Then give the ball back to mahomes... maybe we stop them, maybe we don't... BUT we probably get the ball BACK with about 1:30 to go, with the ball in Josh Allen's hands instead of Mahomes to go and get the win!

IMO, that was the right way to win that game at the end.

  11. 12 minutes ago, Buffalo03 said:

OK. for the record. I said myself that even if Allen hit that pass, we probably still don't win that game because we didn't stop them defensively all game. Those were my own words. I'm not naive enough to think we would have stopped them. My point I've been trying to make is IF IIIIIIIIIIIFFFFFF we hit that pass and got the luckiest break in the world on defense after that to win that game, we are all of a sudden better because we beat them, right? But because we didn't, that's everyone's reason to say they're better?

Well, at least the albatross of not beating KC in the playoffs would be off us, IF we beat KC this year.

Who knows IF we would have beat them.  We still needed to play Baltimore the next week at their house.

What happens IF we lose to Baltimore?  Does the KC win even matter?

What IF we make it to the superbowl and lose to the 49ers?  Does it even matter?

Compiling a team with talent enough to win championships is just one aspect of have a great team like KC.  It starts at the top down.  You need a great GM, HC, surrounding staff.   There are LOTS of teams with alot of talent on them.   How you harness that talent is what matters.

KC is just doing it better than Buffalo right now.  We have no excuses.  We lost to KC AT HOME!  We are not better than KC.

RECOGNIZE there is a problem, find the true reason the problem exists and try to fix it.

The problem is NOT Josh Allen or the vast majority of the players IMO.  It's how we are using them especially on offense is what is keeping us back.

Even if we get that TD, Mahomes has 1:30 to go down the field and score a TD to win the game.

You REALLY think our D was gonna stop Mahomes that game?  Why? We didnt' stop them all night...

What IFs are a great game to play.

They damn near beat the 49ers as the youngest team in the playoffs and damn well should have beaten them. And if they did, it doesn't make them the better team. The 49ers are better than them right now but nearly got beat by them in the playoffs. That's my point.

IMO, to think that Buffalo is better than the superbowl champions, who has won, what, 3?  Superbowl championships in the last 5 years... is a little foolhardy.

We have the tools in alot of spots, but KC just uses them better WHEN IT MATTERS!

I have no idea why any coach would take the ball first in overtime in the playoffs. If your defense is supposedly that good and you trust them to get a stop, kick it. Let them get the stop, force a punt and get better field position and higher chances for getting the requisite yards for a FG

If your defense stinks and will just allow a TD anyways, you know exactly what you need on offense and have four downs per set of downs to achieve it. Plus if you do score a TD, and your defense stinks, just go for 2 and win the game with your offense and don’t give the other team another chance once it goes to sudden death.

It doesn’t seem like a cosmic idea to me. What do I know.

IMO, this is why SF lost the SB...

  15. IMO, we are still looking for an OC that can truly use Josh correctly.  Daboll was the closest to using Allen the best.

Hopefully, Brady can unlock the offense next year and make the juggernaut that it can be.

Chiefs D has 2 outstanding CBs that they DRAFTED.  Not saying that Beane is doing a bad job, but we have had some whiffs on pick that needed to hit.

From top to bottom it seems the Chiefs are just getting the better of us.

Draft Josh 2 great WRs in this years draft, infuse the Defense with new talent at DT, DE, and safety.  Let the kids play and make mistakes.

Unlock Josh's cheat key with an offense that throws the ball down the field and we have a good shot at beating KC (or anyone else) next year.

It's now starting to make sense why the Steelers didn't cover Kincaid on his TD in the playoff game and why Shakir ran free on the second-down play on the Bills final possession in the divisional round game. The Bills proved all season that they're terrible at connecting on deep middle throws. The only success they had was the Kincaid catch in the playoff game! In the regular season, they were an unbelievable 0 for 15.

    https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2024/1/31/24055184/2023-bills-season-analysis-buffalos-deep-middle-passing-game

Why only short and deep categories?   There should be 3 categories for depth of throw, short (0-10yds), intermediate (10-25 yds), and deep (25+ yds).

With one of the best QBs in the game AND his cannon of an arm, the Bills should be attacking the intermediate are ALL THE TIME.  With a QB like Josh, I really don't care about YAC that much bc he can deliver the ball down the field.

Last season, IMO, we threw SO much very short passes we got into a rut and thats all we did.

Why are we throttling back Josh?  Let the man throw the ball around the yard.

That doesn't seem to jibe with the general sentiment on this board.  Please read the article first, then discuss.

IMO, we take 2 WRs in this draft... 1st Round and TBD round.  The REST can go to DEF.

This draft is DEEP at WR, BUT we need a potential #1.  So our first pick should be a WR.

Now, if there is STILL another 1st round grade WR close to our 2nd round pick... we go and get him.  THEN all the rest DEF.  IF no #1 grade WR in round 2... wait till the 4th round.
