  1. At this point I’m disappointed the bottom didn’t fall out and this team didn’t miss the playoffs all together if it means we’re stuck with this dog and clappy show for the foreseeable future.

It’s been painfully obvious for some time now that MiDermott has plateaued, he’s not getting it done, he won’t get it done, let’s just keep wasting Josh Allen.

Can honestly say Idgaf about the draft or free agency, any of it so long as they insist upon spinning their tires with Sean. You know how the story ends every year, Terry’s true colors are showing, he just doesn’t want the Bills to end up like the Sabres, as long as they are relevant and churning out winning seasons, he’s happy.

  2. I don’t believe this is the best Bills team we’ve seen under Josh, and this kinda underscores that 13 seconds was MiDermotts only legitimate chance at getting the job done here in Buffalo.  I believe we’ll see better, more complete Bills teams with Josh over the next few years, but it won’t happen until they realize they got Doug Collins and not Phil Jackson (tired reference, but it’s on point).

But that being said, I did buy in for a second that they might be able to get one this year in what seemed to be an real up for grabs situation.

  3. DeFense…

You know, the one that forced how many punts yesterday?

    “But injuries”

Then scheme accordingly, or you’re not elite as a coach, that simple. A defensive play calling head coach should be able to force A punt.

You don’t think having to rely on ancient AJ Klein was a problem?

His choice to think it was acceptable to trot AJ Klein out onto an NFL field in the first place, at this point in his non existent career, let alone into coverage against one of the best Tight Ends ever to do it.

I understand injuries, but he could’ve gotten a hell of a lot more creative schematically than “insert AJ Klein”. That’s never a legitimate option, he was never good in coverage in whatever “prime” he had, let alone now that he’s absolute dust.

3 Safety looks, Dodson and Williams rotate at LB, dare them to run, hope for stops, don’t just let Mahomes play pitch and catch with guys in space though.

Because a lot of that wasn't on him. This is exactly my point. People reach immediately for coaching. It is the crutch of the fan. Overblame coaching. Underblame player performance. Because it is reassuring "well if we just get rid of this useless coach it will all be better..." I blame McDermott for the things that I really think are his fault. This idea that if you don't think he should be fired you must just be a McDermott homer who defends everything he does is totally wrong.

Believe me if I thought Sean McDermott was the reason the Bills can't get over the hump I'd have my pitchfork out. I watch the all22 each week I don't, for the most part, see a badly coached football team. Even in  the playoffs - with that one exception.

It’s his McDefense that keeps getting embarrassed every single post season. How is it NOT him?

either A-he’s not getting his players prepared to play

or B-the game plan was proper *****

or C-he gets out coached in game and situationally

or McD- all of the above.

Either way, the defense that routinely falls short in big games, and every single post season, over more than half a decade, suffers from one common McDenominator… somewhere along the way come playoff time he’s doing something wrong whether it be preparation, execution or in game adjustments and decision making, he lets the team down… every single year. Josh LITERALLY playing the perfect game wasn’t enough, 13 seconds was too much time for him to do his part, it will never be enough with MiDermott at the wheel. He had his ultimate chance at redemption last night, and he blew it.

Time to send him back to Carolina.

I'm sick and tired of waiting around (6 years now) for Sean McDermott to build a playoff defense. Media is downgrading Josh's accomplishments because he's expected to score 30-40 points every playoff game.  And that narrative exists because McDermott's yearly defense can't do squat in the playoffs.

Literally… He gave up 31 just last year to Skylar Thompson in a home playoff game, I’m surprised anybody was actually expecting a win yesterday.

When I saw him insisting on putting AJ Klein into coverage, rather than just go 3 safety and make Pacheco and the ground game beat you, I knew it was over and there would be no stopping Mahomes.

I mean I don't agree with the first part either, for either guy on either side, obviously age can be a factor.

I'd take him over McD for sure. But someone like a Ben Johnson makes so much sense.

I wouldn’t be opposed to Ben Johnson, by any means, but offense isn’t the reason this team falters regularly in the post season.

  8. This whole season is on McDermott.

This team should have easily been the 1 seed rather than giving games away to Zac Wilson and Mac Jones, 12 men on the field, routinely squeaking out wins playing down to competition like Easton Stick and Bailey Zappe.

This team is getting credit for going on a winning streak and squeaking out the division when it never should’ve been close in the first place.

Seriously, trade him to Carolina, it’s a win win scenario.

I don't know about Belichick because of the age....but I just wanted to comment that we don't even need a guy who can build a monster defense...just one that can even be decent in these big games and mitigate some damage. It would be a big improvement if he could even come in here and just do that.

I agree with the age sentiment, but we keep electing guys older than him to run the “free world”, this is just a game. I’d do it for 3-5 years, besides our best years as a franchise were with Marv who was pushing 70 himself in the Super Bowl years and everybody knows late 60s in the 1990s was like being in your late 80s now, or so I hear.

  10. Belichick is sitting right there.

    He LOVES 17.

You know he wants to stick it to Kraft.

He’s beaten Mahomes in the playoffs in Arrowhead.

I have confidence with a QB like Josh he would build a monster defense to support his QB, idk why, but I think he’s got some experience in how to win with elite QBs.

idc that’s he 72 if his mind is still sharp.
