I love Lamp haha I really thought we were coming up for Kupp, then when it was a different WR it really was puzzling.

I didn’t think they’d move up for WR. Jones, Kupp, and Smith-Schuster were all on the board. ?‍♂️. Oline looked like it dropped off after Lamp. Then they grabbed Dawkins afterwards.

I don't mean to obsess... just when you know something and the GM does the opposite(Zay Jones) you want to make it known you made the right choice. I hit often on guys that are usually an afterthought so I love to get my I told you so's in... Also I'm not afraid to admit when I whiff, but that usually doesn't happen.

I certainly wasn’t chirping for him. At the time of the trade up I thought they were grabbing Forrest Lamp. ?‍♂️

yeah— it’s weird. I don’t recall him running any of those comebacks this year.

Maybe it’s related to a lingering groin injury. Not sure. We’ll see how it plays out over the rest of the season. If he doesn’t “turn on” down the stretch he’ll be on the roster bubble.

How many picks of the rookie ??? Sure they won’t let him throw much, but in the limited action he has had its been a pick fest. They should get 3 if he tries 30 attempts because they are playing from way behind.

Well, if he throws it high over the middle in this game two Hyde and/ Poyer might be getting a call from Deon.

I can’t remember the last time Foster ran a route other than a fly. It’s weird. If they activate him, I’d like to see him used more over the middle and on crosses like McK, at least.

IIRC, he was pretty good at deep outs last year and due to his speed a lot of comeback routes were open as well. I really thought he had enough to build on.

Ha! I now live in North Carolina and that is exactly how it is at the THREAT of a snowflake

I’ll never understand that. My primary residence is in VA on the north side of Kerr Reservoir... the way I can cruise 15 minutes and everyone’s driving disposition changes from “just pop the truck into 4x4” to “OMFG! Buy all the bread and milk!” It’s hilarious.

Ugh, think about the cheaters having OBJ... thank God Cleveland somehow came away with him.

Kupp is only in the basement of his potential, terrible injuries didn't help in year 2.

I feel like his floor is GOAT, just needs Josh Allen lasering him the ball so he can Willy Wonka his way to the top.

His floor is definitely lower than GOAT. Every WRs floor is tied to OC and QB... ref ODBJ. ?. There are plenty of examples of performance drop offs when an incompetent QB takes the reins of an offense. Look at D Adams season stats with Hundley throwing the ball. Went from an All pro pace to a 75/885/10 season. Rodgers comes back the next season and he posts 111/1386/13.

allen would certainly benefit from having a smart physically imposing WR. Sadly, they rarely hit the market.... Beane needs to do better.

I'd take Evans over OBJ and Julio or even Adams. I agree about OBJ.

That comparison of Kupp is great, just like Edelman is great.

A bigger, more physically gifted Edleman is the pinnacle of recieving which is exactly the mountain Kupp has ascended and now is king of...

It is not a fluke either or scheme because he broke FCS WR records across the board, easily the top WR in that draft class especially since he is gonna be the best in the league for years to come.

I just want to see the potential fully reached before anointing anyone. He’s on pace this year. Granted, I wouldn’t complain if Beane gave up a 1st for most of the guys we’ve mentioned.... Green aside due to avail-ability. I think OBJ could rebound, but I don’t see it in Cleveland with that coaching staff. Stick him on the Seahawks and he’d likely revert back to all-pro level.

I think you’re right.  The offense was in such bad shape last year that massive F/A signings was the only way to bring it up to middle of the road.

I’m unhappy with the team’s history of ignoring offensive skill positions in the draft. In the past three years,  they’ve drafted one WR (ZayJones) and one RB before the sixth round.  In that same time, Pittsburgh, for example, with Antonio Brown already on the team, drafted three WRs:  Schuster (second), James Washington (third) and Deonte Jones (third).

I’m not upset by it. They decided to go D first and it payed off. I’ll also never rag on Line picks in the top three rounds. I’d rather have incompletions than an injured QB. That said, I think they’re going to start filling out the offense unless someone falls into their lap. Keep in mind that Pit has basically kept the same Oline together for years. They’ll have to restart the cycle soon just like GB has done.

Adams is great, I just like some of these other guys better.

Fair enough. I definitely feel differently, especially since a few of the receivers you listed earlier haven’t exactly put up the same numbers against top defenses. I have Julio and Evans on top. With Adams in the tier directly behind. OBJ hasn’t been quite the same since his knee injury, and while QB play could be responsible I expected more over the past two seasons. Kupp IMO hasn’t posted the numbers to qualify yet... no 80+ reception season, hasn’t broken the 1,000 yard mark, never more than 6 TDs.... Woods on the other hand has broken two of those yard markers. Kupp is like a more physically gifted Edelman to me... excellent player, but impossible to tell how much of his upper end is talent or system. He’s on track to hit the next level this year though.

Isn’t that what we’re doing?  How do you think it’s working out?

I’m not sure. I think they were forced to sign so many FAs on offense because the talent on the roster was so inept it couldn’t be fixed any other way. Kudos to Beane for pulling an amazing patch job without blowing the cap. It certainly seems like this team is now positioned to be a lot more selective and go for a few top talents.

Ah, Hopkins slipped my mind, Julio as well, but he's old now.

Kupp is just beginning his career and dominating, that's why I have him on top.

Evans is another good WR I'd put in top tier. I just don't have Golladay, Allen, Adams that high...

Diggs is under Thielen in my book.

Tyreek is definitely dangerous but he's more of a gadget guy than #1 WR material.

Are you discounting Adams talent level because of Rodgers??? Dude’s 26 and he’s possibly the best WR TD threat in the league and can run every route. He’s improved every year in the league as well and posted 111 receptions for 1386 yards and 13 TDs last year in 15 games. I get that he only caught 75  passes and 10 TDs with DeShone Keizer throwing him the ball, but damn... please explain how that guy isn’t top tier.

Yeah, Pepsi is certainly a legit competitor, and maybe more diversified (with fast food chains, etc.), but Coca-Cola is far more iconic. They blew it when they basically gave away bottling (largely to some people in Chattanooga) just to increase volume of sales. Push the product!  Turns out the bottling rights are worth billions, and they’ve been buying the rights back over time.

I have a buddy who is a tax attorney from Chattanooga and he deals with SERIOUS wealth that Coca-Cola gave away a LONG time ago. Nobody is perfect!

That’s still better than Xerox and Kodak...

Here in Atlanta, home of Coke and the Coca-Cola Museum, there is no question who owns the market. Some of the nicer, older neighborhoods and some major roads are named after people from early in the Coca-Cola history. You can find Pepsi, if you want to look. But I’m not a soda guy, so maybe that’s more reputation than fact. National chain restaurants will of course live by whatever deals they have arranged.

I actually had a buddy come in from out of town and we had some bad weather. I asked what he’d like to do.....and we ended up at the Coke Museum.

Makes sense. A lot of NC was like that with Pepsi when I was a kid. Heck, my old man paid for college by loading Mountain Dew into trucks. Definitely different now. Figured other local markets would loosen the death grip as well. Learn something every day.

Well, that’s just the thing.....all colas around here ARE Coke!

It’s tough to find a Pepsi!

Interesting. I just thought it was a flip on folks in North Carolina calling all colas Pepsi. It’s a bit different now after all the migration, but still.... all the sales outside of major chains are Pepsi products. ?‍♂️
