I think it may be more this along with the play (in our system) of some of the guys in front of him.

He excels more at press man-coverage and less so as a zone DB that understands spacing an where he needs to be at all times.

That being said, it would be nice to have a lock-down corner that could take away their "guy" and allow us to play some single-high and add some help in the box to stop the runs and short passes from turning into long-gainers.

I think some coaches shape the scheme to fit the talent (or have some flexibility) where McDermott has a scheme and is rigid. Our best 11 are probably not on the field together as often as they would be on other teams. it’s a team mentality concept that (chicken/egg) might hinder the top end talent we have/get/find

  2. The dolphins got the game they wanted, they did a better job dictating how things went. The difference in this game was josh didn’t force anything and our defense was able to generate a turnover.

The dolphins offensive game plan and execution accentuated our defense’s weakness. they were masterful, it just wasn’t enough.

This was not a game the Bills would’ve won in the recent past. I was impressed they stayed patient and pulled it off.

again, if not a fit for your system, then don't draft him.  Especially in the 1st round.  You can take that kind of risk on day 3 guys if you really want.  A mix of hubris/panic imo with regards to Elam

I think there’s some argument for drafting what you perceive to be the best athlete on your board in the first round regardless of fit. There’s also no guarantees in the draft.

getting josh Allen has made beane and McDermott a lot of money. That’s not to say they’re poor at their job’s rather there’s probably equally talented people who are unemployed because they didn’t have a josh Allen.
