If you read the article, the quote about Terry states: “Bills owner Terry Pegula made racist comment, lawsuit alleges ESPN Sep 12, 2023, 02:04 PM ET Buffalo Bills owner Terry Pegula allegedly made a racist comment about Black players in the NFL, according to a racial discrimination lawsuit against the league filed Tuesday by longtime reporter Jim Trotter. Trotter alleges in the lawsuit that in 2020, a fellow NFL Media reporter recalled a conversation he had with Pegula, who was speaking to the reporter about the NFL's social justice initiatives and Black Lives Matter. The reporter, who was not identified in the lawsuit, told Trotter and approximately 40 other NFL Media coworkers during a Zoom call that Pegula said: "If the Black players don't like it here, they should go back to Africa and see how bad it is." https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38387165/bills-owner-terry-pegula-made-racist-comment-lawsuit-alleges Double or triple hearsay would be for example, reporter A tells reporter B that subject X said “XYZ”, and reporter B testifies to that effect—in court that’s hearsay, because the declarant would be the best person to testify about that statement, having been a party to it. Triple adds another layer, if for example one of the “40” tells Reporter B that Reporter A said he heard Subject X say XYZ… In other words, it's a situation where one person relays what someone else said, who in turn was repeating what a third person said. As a general rule, that’s just not reliable or admissible in court, because prone to inaccuracies.

So Pegula on record strongly denying the claim, and I note the allegations are from 2020…can we honestly expect something this newsworthy to be kept quiet for 3 years despite the claim that over 40 people allegedly heard it? I don’t know how credible that is, not to mention the double or even triple levels of hearsay involved.

You sir are destined to be right at least 2x/day, as with all clocks 😁. In all seriousness, Benjamin was a buffet of disastrous proportions…

Anyone talking about our run D?

It is frustrating when you know it’s coming and the team still looks like it’s the biggest surprise and can’t tackle either. -
Daboll was always good at getting through to Josh and correcting his detrimental tendencies, highlighting his strengths. Clearly Dorsey does not have this Midas touch, and the QB room is hardly filled with “cagey vets” who could take him aside for a few timely pointers. Maybe Daboll will get fired after this season and the Bills can re-hire him? 🤷🏼♂️

Touché.

Honest question—what are your thoughts as a Jets fan with Rodgers possibly done for the season? Does it feel a little like you won the battle but lost the war? At some point your QB needs to win you games, and Wilson has shown what he can and can’t do, tonight notwithstanding. Congrats on a solid team effort for you all around!

In fairness to him though, can you really paint him for his 2018 rookie season games where the likes of Kelvin “burner” Benjamin were running excuses of routes for him out there? Also his rushing was off the charts back then…

I’m a huge Allen homer, you all know that. What I’m missing is his obvious fire and will to win that he always used to wear on his sleeve and inspire teammates with—I haven’t seen that since before the Bengals game—just a lot of emotionless/blank sitting on the bench when you should be getting in guys’ faces and pumped up for the next shot—Peyton pointed this out too in the manningcast towards the end of the game. What gives??

The Jets are to Allen what the Browns are to Burrow…

Great way to encapsulate what so many of us are feeling on a day like today, OP. I was in my 2L year of lawschool and had popped on CNN to grab a quick news fix before leaving my apartment for a 10am evidence class—needless to say, seeing one of the Towers smoking and reports of an airplane accident made me take notice, and saw the 2nd impact live. From then it was chaos with my butt rooted to the seat glued to the coverage the rest of the day and frantic attempted calls to family and friends located in Pa and NY…my roommate who’d left for an earlier class came back at some point, openly crying as his brother worked in the City near there and could not be reached, all phones jammed. Fortunately he wound up being ok, had to escape on foot over one of the bridges out. My experience of course was nothing compared to those of you who wound up losing people or were directly involved in responding to the day's events…They say time heals all wounds, but this is one that should mark us for a lifetime of remembrance. -
Same energy as the last few years?

I need to see how our new pieces will be utilized by Dorsey and McD, whether all of the off-season changes are to our benefit or detriment…so yeah, I’ll probably be overreacting either way to the results tonight lol. Talk to me after say, Week 4 and let’s see how it’s going! 😅 -

Happy birthday to our fearless leader, here’s to many many more! -
Just bring the TBD threads about Daboll along as a cut paste out of the archives and save the Gmen fans some typing time! 😅 But they are still pros, and I wouldn’t bet against them next week…if they have any pride whatsoever, they will come out swinging their best shots against the Cards.

Joe Burrow huge extension 5 years $275 million now highest paid QB

Bet they also featured a rushing stat line filled with tuddies and stiff arming through linebackers which we will never see Burrows do lol 😂 -
Collinsworth trying to say that was all about Jones making a statement of “I got us into this mess now I’ll stay to get us out” or some such claptrap was the laugher of the day…

That’s a great comp actually, and that will help ensure the Chefs continue to dominate in the West unfortunately.

Pretty sure this is what insurance is for…that’s a much deeper pocket than whoever the named defendant is, I’d wager. Imho, our society at large is too litigious (sometimes unavoidable), and many times disputes could be handled more cheaply and quickly by pre-lit dispute resolution means. -
